It’s certainly favourable. No travel is a big factor should we get through.
However, winning away to Armenia & home to Turkey was an easier task in my view, so I am not getting too worked up.

I think if I read it right yesterday, We Global were giving us a c.10% higher chance than Poland of qualifying in this particular scenario.

Teemu Pukki playing in the USA now? Yeah Minnesota or something I think. As said, couldn’t have asked for a better draw really. Home advantage huge and avoiding Ukraine was vital. Finland no mugs so will be a big challenge and then almost certainly Poland, be very equal that, home advantage for us but Lewadowski the great leveller.

Poland have also had lots of good results in the last couple of years, including draws with Spain, England, and the Netherlands, but they had a shocker in the qualifiers just gone - particularly away from home where they lost 3 of their 4 games (including against Moldova and Albania). www.google.com/search?q=poland+results&sca_esv=584838229&rlz=1C1CHBF_en-GBGB1048GB1048&sxsrf=AM9HkKlOLbmsU5qgQ_nGjkuIDYnyO2aPeg%3A1700738693048&ei=hTZfZYTAAumihbIPsq2zuA0&ved=0ahUKEwjElp6tgdqCAxVpUUEAHbLWDNcQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=poland+results&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiDnBvbGFuZCByZXN1bHRzMhUQABiABBgUGIcCGLEDGIMBGEYY_QEyBhAAGAcYHjIGEAAYBxgeMgUQABiABDIGEAAYBxgeMgYQABgHGB4yBhAAGAcYHjIGEAAYBxgeMgYQABgHGB4yBhAAGAcYHkjPIlDTDFj5HnACeAGQAQCYAZQBoAGYBaoBAzUuMrgBA8gBAPgBAcICChAAGEcY1gQYsAPCAg0QABiABBiKBRiwAxhDwgINEAAYgAQYDRixAxiDAcICBxAAGIAEGA3iAwQYACBBiAYBkAYK&sclient=gws-wiz-serp#sie=t;/m/03b6j8;2;/m/0zdsnbj;mt;fp;1;;;They still probably have more quality than us though, Lewandowski's still around and they have plenty of other players - Szczesny is still first choice at Juventus, Kiwior plays for Arsenal, Zalewski for Roma, Zielinski for Napoli, Matty Cash is a very good player at Aston Villa, and then they've got players in other top leagues around Europe. Not all starting - so similar to us in a way, but a lot more players playing for top teams

You're forgetting, in both of those games under this scenario they would have gone to extra time, so you're comparing oranges to apples

The possibility of two home games and avoiding Ukraine should be a good thing.
It means nothing til we show up, perform and win mind.
Lots of work to do between now and then. Home fans need to bring their A game.

If you look at the club's the Finnish players play for then you'll see that we should be beating them at home really. Not to say it will be easy, they're a tidy side but we should be expecting a win
Poland aren't the side they used to be, a few of their senior players are ageing. They didn't really impress me in the Nations League and if we play as we did against Turkey/Croatia we can win that game
Anyone know what the minimum allocation we can give them is? I'd like us to punish them for their behaviour last time with the firework and having a bunch of fans in the home end
Any way we can prevent them being in the home end?

Now that is probably the best draw we couldve hoped for. Poland at home would still be an ask though.

On balance, though not as onerous a prospect as the WC playoffs were? It is though the very best we could have hoped for. 5 day turnaround works in our favour too with no travelling. Play like we did against Croatia and in parts against Turkey and we have every chance. Hopefully no major injuries and a match fit squad!

Or are we going to put in one good performance and scrape through by the skin of our teeth?

That was the game Eriksen collapsed and this is not the Bosnia of 2016-18 - they lost 4-1 to Luxembourg last month. 18 points is a good haul though that group wasn't the greatest, to put it kindly They're a decent team, but probably not quite the team they were when they reached Euro 2020 or when we beat them twice in the Nations League. We should be winning this one.

It's not going to matter because we're going to win against Finland but I assume if we lose the first game we'll have to play the loser of Estonia vs Poland on the Tuesday instead? Same scenario as we would have had for the World Cup play-off

No need to get ahead ourselves here. Let's not forget we've played sh*te in probably 80% of our games during the past year. Finland will be tough, and then we will probably be underdogs against Poland (I assume they'll beat Estonia).

Yellow cards are all wiped at the end of the group matches, so barring sendings off, if we get to the final, we'll have no suspensions going into it.

Same scenario as we would have had for the World Cup play-off Yeah that would the the case, and no doubt the FAW will not refund the money! I expect at least a £5 increase on match by match tickets for two games, just hope they sell them in a double pack this time.
