I remember Elis James describing the Euro's as being like a party which every tells you is awesome, but you are never invited to. Then you finally get invited and you find out that the party is even better than anyone could have possibly explained.
I hope the FAW blazers are sat at home watching all this and it concentrates their mind into taking some decisive action.

I know, this is painful already, and it hasn't started yet (that said, the opening ceremony is painful anyway 😂). Should be flying out tomorrow. I'd be happy qualifying for any future tournament, but must admit it'll sting for a long time not making Germany.

Seeing them Scotland fans behind the goal. We should be there this weekend getting the ale right down our necks. Royally f*cked this campaign up.

Second seeds in our group and also having the backup of the playoffs and still not qualifying…. Sorry, that was poor. If we had took the same amount of points against Armenia that Latvia did we'd be in a German bar right now. *yes I know about Croatia

After being humiliated by the Danes in Amsterdam, then being a total embarrassment in Qatar, we would have lost all three games at this one & our reputation as tournament whipping boys would be well & truly secured. I’m glad we are not there. 2016 was our time, it’s never happening ever again. Erm, it already did happen again, at Euro 2020 and WC 2022! Or is anything bar whipping Belgium to reach the quarter finals regarded as a failure?! It’s top 8 or nothing?!

I've known tons of Scottish people and I genuinely like them but I really think Scotland are the worst team in the tournament, they had one short purple patch in qualifying beating Spain and Norway and that's it,but then more the we did I guess

Without that win they wouldn’t even have qualified. They’ve been hammered by every top tier team they’ve played since. I’m not crowing because this would have been us against the French & the Dutch, but any notion that the Jocks are anything other than ordinary is for the birds.

The Scots have got nothing at all to keep Germany honest, which is basically pace on the break, Steve Clarke has played to his strength which means corner's and free kicks, not much good when you are up against it from the off, at least we would have had James and others to keep them thinking, and others of course, fuck Armenia 😁,it's going to be a hard tournament, and I don't see much light for us with page, anyway onwards and upwards, god knows we should be used to looking from a distance, but we are better than this Scottish team,ah fuck it

Not going to mock, as we'd have been pumped by Germany as well. However I'm surprised how easy it was for the Germans, it was like a training match.

Scotland were truly abysmal. The goal they scored gives the result a slight gloss that their performance did not deserve. As good as the Almaenwyr were, the Scottish backline were abysmal. They might be better than the Wales team that took on Slovakia but no way are they better than our 1st XI.

Thing is against the top teams you have to have pace,it's crucial, even to keep the full backs thinking, our best team has that,we might be against that but we have pace, even if it doesn't work, Scotland have nothing but a set piece threat, they are pedestrian at best

It’s time to go back to 8 teams in the tournament. This is going to be a snooze fest. Too diluted these days.

I don't think I've seen a team so completlely overwhelmed and dominated as Scotland were last night, although I'm not convinced we would have done much better under the present regime. How the performances reflect on both teams in the following games will be of interest.

To be fair they were impacted by injuries, especially at RWB. Germany scored from their first two efforts on goal. I'm not saying Scotland weren't bad, but sometimes circumstances can conspire against you. If we had been able to field fully fit Bale, Ramsey and Allen in the WC we would clearly have performed so much better. At Euro16 everything fell into place until Davies and Ramsey picked up second bookings in the quarters. For Portugal the good fortune continued all the way to the final.

Agree, but what makes it worse is the difference in opposition, Germany ok, but Iran is unforgiveable. Scotland were just like we were at the World Cup - playing like they didn’t deserve to be there - which they don’t. They played below what they are capable of against a top tier one team. They just never got going, especially their midfield. Lets judge them on their next 2 games. They beat Spain and Norway (twice) for goodness sake - they definitely deserve to be there - they found a way and never gave up. At the moment they are better than us - hopefully with a new manager we can close the gap We were shit in every match in the WC, two of which came against average to decent teams - there is a big difference in my opinion.
