Imagine if teams only qualified for finals because they had world class players It happens, see our record prior to bale. There’s a huge slice of perspective you’re missing here. Perspective? We are now not even capable of beating Armenia nor Gibraltar. From what I've seen so far we are struggling again. How long are we going to say every single woeful game is down to not having Bale?

I never want to see Sheehan again Limited but rather goes backwards when a forward pass on the edge of their area is an easy option. Rubbish He has done that twice ffs My thoughts exactly so far

Good thing about these are we get to see the level of some of the fringe players and know which ones aren't up to snuff currently.

Perspective again, we played a third string side in a meaningless friendly Every excellent result we’ve had since losing bale is even more special because that guy dragged us to the tournaments. He dug us out on that first 2016 qualifier and he did exactly the same for the last game that got us to the World Cup. We’ve improved as a team since losing him

Cabango still can't do anything with a free header.

Why do we constantly play it to Cabango at the back post when the man is genuinely dogshit at heading the ball.

I think its also worth noting we're playing a pretty much full strength Slovakia side.

By not qualifying and struggling in a majority of games. Cant wait to see how much more "improvement" Page has up his sleeves.

Stevens done well after a slightly shaky start, very good then to send Johnson away for Broadhead's half chance

If Ward does not want to actually eb a goalkeeper for a club then we desperately have to scout the world for a keeper
This kind of shit can only be explained by someone sat on the bench all of their career
Mad

Danny Ward conceding another long range shot.
Mentioned on this forum many a time that he lets in far too many shots outside the box. Terrible, zero surprises.

Soon as an eligible keeper plays a competitive game any level within EFL or equivalent got to call them up.
Page got to be ruthless. We can't have keepers not playing at all. Completely lose their sharpness

Chris Maxwell has been an obvious candidate for like 5 years, but at 33 now, probably too old to call up.

Poor goal to concede on several levels
Ward, obviously, but the lad's in acres of space

A goalkeeper who choose when to try to save a long range effort
A creative midfielder who rather than play a simple forward ball in a dangerous areas chooses to turn his back and play the ball backwards .... TWICE! I don't think I have seen that sort of player do that before
and Broadhead - he is there because he can nick the odd goal, goes clean through at an angle and decide to do nothing
Such a mess

Barring the goal. Think we've been okay with half a squad missing.
Would be good if we can just have a bit of purpose going forward. Glimpses of it but not enough. Mix it up a bit

We've done ok surprisingly, however I don't see why our forwards are so shot-shy.
Most seem terrified of making a mistake.

Completely lose their sharpness He did not even move. Why? How can you be wrong footed like that as the guy was outside the box, straight in front of him. It was as if he thought there was zero chance of a shot. Should not happen

Ward to blame for the goal, although I've noticed when we play 4-2-3-1 we're susceptible to a cut back to the edge of the box. It happened against Armenia where the two holding miss drop too deep and leave too much space
Think Broadhead has been poor and Brennan looks like his identical twin or something - none of that Premier League quality on show from either. Stevens & Dasilva doing well tho
Hope we see more of Koumas tonight later on

If Boradhead does not fancy shooting - get the hell off the pitch and move over for Koumas. I tell you one million percent - he would shoot and would not think a millisecond about doing so!

Mix it up a bit Front 4 again disappointing for me though, the rest hasn't been too bad (Ward aside). Need to see more quality from all 4 of them. Broadhead not a 10 IMO
