I was reasonably impressed by the standard of the game, and Wales very much matched England.

Colwyn Bay FC will play in tier 2 of the Welsh pyramid next season. Currently known as the Cymru alliance but renamed as the FAW Championship North next season and will be wholly owned and administered by the FAW. Division will run with 17 clubs instead of 16 for 1 season.

A bit unfair on the other clubs who are battling to stay in tier 2 (and some of the better ones in the feeder leagues), and, given the tone of their statements, I think Colwyn Bay should have started a tier 3.

Think tier 2 was a level too high.
However, this would of been agreed months ago.
Personally hope they struggle next season.

Embarrasing that a club that has been given a million pound stadium cant play their European games at home.
Apparently the pitch is not up to standard and they are saying too many kids etc have been using the pitch.
Not sure they complain everytime a parent pays their fees.
Money spent on players and not pitch maintenance.
Just wish other clubs were afforded all the advantages they have had.
Is the pitch up to WPL standard?

I don't think Barry would be in the WPL if their pitch wasn't up to standard, the FAW have cut their nose to spite their face by chucking out teams like Caernarfon & Rhyl before now.

Wow is it really any worse than that pitch in Andorra we played on only passed fit on appeal a few days before the game if I remember rightly.
Likewise that shithole in Osieck being passed fit for international football on appeal. Double standards from Uefa. And we seem to bow down to them unlike some other countries.

Are you trolling or just that flat out misinformed? We've not been given a million pound stadium. Have you even been to Jenner Park? It's not even ours anyway, we rent it from the Barry council as the primary holders. However as the primary holders, Barry have taken the reigns with that that pitch and given access for hundreds of local kids to play football. Barry Town now has more teams than ever with multiple age groups and the ladies team are also back since dissolving back in the early 00s. This is the result of local people giving footballing opportunities to a lot of local people. Is that an embarrassment to you, or would you rather the likes of Stuart Lovering be a chairman of a WPL team or have the previous Barry council with their proposals of the Barry rugby team in the stadium instead?

Facts
Every other team in the vale has to pay for their own ground improvements.
Yes I have seen the stadium which passes UEFA requirements, what other club in the vale have been handed that
You got a 4g pitch which no other club gets to use and I imagine that generates a large revenue.
As for the juniors cant tell you how many people have mentioned that you poach players and have ruined local junior football.
The majority of the 600 registered would still be playing without you at clubs a lot if them previously played for.

Not trolling by the way.
Played for the club myself and would wager I have seen far more games than the majority of people who watch now.
Just get fed up of the back slapping when you have had a massive advantage over most clubs and still screw things up like the pitch and then blame overuse which generates part of your income.

Former player eh? Who are you? Marlon King True, out of the clubs in the vale, Barry are lucky to have access to this stadium. But what do you expect us to do? "No thanks, we'll play up the butts instead?". Also, Dinas Powys, Barry FC (and maybe Bridgend - could be wrong on that one) have also used the stadium in the past as tenants. One of the biggest gripes in the UK is that games are constantly postponed during the winter due to inadequate pitches. Now Barry has access to a great pitch which can only be a good thing for the local players. Regarding your poaching comment, come on mate, would you rather kids play on a pitch such as Maslin Park down Barry Island which has doubled as a car park for tourists? Or get them to develop on a quality surface and who knows, maybe become professional someday? I'm sure you must be aware of the recent Barry history, but it's literally gonna from individual standing orders from supporter's accounts to fund the club to where we are now. Several different teams, community spirit, kids off the streets... but you always find someone to moan about it.

The 4g pitch could of been put at the sports centre so more children could of used it.
Only the Barry players get to use the facility so other clubs are getting ruined by a club who never had a junior section. The only reason they do now is they have to have an academy.
I'm not Marlon or John Fashanu , niether am I Mel Donovan, Bobby Smith or David Withers. (Remember them).😎

As someone who has attended almost every Barry Town European match at jenner park but now lives away (and hoping to come to the europa match), can I ask 1) What's wrong with the pitch, and can it be repaired /improved? 2) Do the club have an alternative stadium lined up?
Cheers

The New Saints have gone and done it. Winning 1-0 at Feronkeli of Kosovo,Dean Ebbe scoring the all important goal on 67 mins. 3-2 overall after they seemed to have thrown it away conceding 2 late goals in the draw last week when they were cruising at 2-0. Copenhagen await in the 2nd round.

Copenhagen await in the 2nd round. A shame they are playing one of the better sides in the next round. However, they would then be seeded in the 3rd Qualifying round of the Europa League. A little bit of luck with the draw and they could play the winner of either the Linfield v HB Torshavn (Faroes), Suduva (Lithuania) v Tre Penne (San Marino) or Shkëndija (North Macedonia) v F91 Dudelange (Luxembourg) games. Sure, if they managed to get that lucky and then produce and win, they would be smashed in the final round but it would at least be good for the Coefficient.

Superb result, not that it makes much difference to the overall trajectory of the WPL. Still, I wonder how much more money CCN will get from UEFA for getting through to the next round. The New Saints' Champions League earnings alone allow them to dominate the WPL year after year. If CCN or any other WPL club were to earn the same or more from a European Campaign it might give them a realistic chance of challenging TNS for the title and future Champions League winnings. It would be good for the league to have that competition.

Looking at the calibre of players the Quay have, I'd suspect they've got a fair amount of financial clout behind them already and a Europa run would be a nice bonus for them. TNS are invincible though, unless another Barry pop up.

The main thing is that one side making the 3rd Europa League Qualifying Round and one side making the 2nd is great for the coefficient.

Cardiff met were unlucky to go out on away goals and the team that beat them progressed.
It was only Barry who underperformed getting smashed by a team that got hammered themselves in the next round.
Progress being made.

Wow! You're such an angry man!
It wouldn't surprise me that when you finish work, you return home and stare at yourself in the mirror for a few minutes. And then repeatedly punch your naked testicles for 40 seconds straight!
Well done Connah's Quay. So funny to see the Killie fans moaning about their wasted flights to Belgrade!

As for after work I will be coaching a girls football team. What will you be doing , maybe trying to find your testicles
