Amazing result for Connahs Quay. A week ago it was looking awful for Welsh football, 2 quality results and it looks really positive. I was getting tired of the same old ‘good performance but coming up short’ routine.

Great result well done to Connah's Quay. Reading the Kilmarnock forum some typical arrogance moaning & bad losers attitude from Scottish fans exactly like when we played them a few years back. The fans had all booked up for Belgrade. Oh dear. www.killiefc.com/forum/index.php?/forum/2-killie-kickback/

I must admit I've had a right lol on their forum. So much disrespect to book flights and hotels before even making it through.
No sympathy whatsoever.

I understand the sentiment, but it's hard to justify such a move. Perhaps there would be a case for including one player from the WPL in a friendly - but that would be highly tokenistic and a bit embarrassing for the player called up.

Not a bad effort from TNS to be competitive against a side full of internationals. They also had a player who Arsenal and Spurs are looking at
Hopefully it will stand them in good stead for the Europa league

The man is an absolute crackpot and will say anything to get his Penfold-like face or Frankenstein's Monster team into the media. Only a few weeks ago he was begging Nigel Farage on twitter for a shout-out. Scratch the surface with Harris and you'll see there's nothing underneath.

To be fair I have heard worse ideas.
More exposure for the league will mean more money.
8 full time teams would improve standards; however what about promotion and relegation.

Its a good idea. Asking Farage to wish them luck staying in Europe though is bizarre surely. And the last week Donald Trump and Piers Morgan as well whov got zero interest in Welsh sport in fact Trump recently referred to Wales as Whales in a tweet. Why not ask somebody like Rhys Ifans or Michael Sheen who might be interested in actually doing it. The rebranded JD Cymru leagues now is a national system with 45 clubs (44 next year.) Dont need any big changes for a while. We need more professional clubs that will only happen if a Harris type figure comes into other clubs and commits for the long haul and you need success from the well supported clubs as well.

Only a few weeks ago he was begging Nigel Farage on twitter for a shout-out. Scratch the surface with Harris and you'll see there's nothing underneath. Strange bloke is Harris and find it really hard to like TNS as a club for obvious reasons, even before his attention seeking antics on Twitter. He's obviously good at what he does given their domination, but his dedication to the Welsh league should always be scrutinised so long as they ply their trade in England, it is an easy route for them into the Champions League qualifiers each and every year after all, why would they change pyramid. Big few years I think ahead for the league with the rebrand, and helped with bigger followings at clubs like Caernarfon. More people getting fed up with the big money leagues, I hope this will see more people investing time into watching their local teams. Would love to see WPL/CP players represented in the National Team on merit. It is still some way of though unfortunately. Big fan of the opportunity that Cymru C team gives players.

Kit gate aside, which I still can't get my head around... 8 games in and looks like we're in for a competitive top 5/6 in the Cymru Premier this season. It happened last season with TNS pulling away at the end, but I get a feeling Barry are a stronger side this year and with a good following home and away really hoping they can challenge them all the way. Shame the sides lower down the league have been pretty poor, apart from Newtown.

Bangor are bent to the core now, it seems. Shame they'll probably end up in a Northwich Vics/74 situation when the dust settles. The FAW aren't much use to a club in crisis either, it wasn't that long ago they were fixing to bury Barry.

So the Vaughans seem to have left now (allagedly?). World cup winner Pasculli as manager. Doing o.k in the league.Knocked TNS of the league cup on pens, then lost out to Bala, also on pens after a 1-1 draw. Must have something about them.New owner Serafino seems a plausible character, son playing for the club. Only a few dozen watching them apparently. Meanwhile the new fan owned CPD Bangor 1876 going great in the Gwynedd league. Won 12 games on the trot, their last outing being a 14 0 win against Bethesda. Be interesting to see how this all pans out. Both clubs in Welsh cup action today. Wouldnt be surprised if they get drawn against each other if they go through.

Connah’s Quay have been crowned champions for the first time. Llongyfarchiadau! Fair play to them. Took a few years but good to see someone compete with TNS. Hopefully they invest the money wisely and we get 2 decent teams in Europe. I’m starting to think we might do well in Europe. The financial hit our clubs will take, although big, will be less than most other European teams.

Promotion/relegation hasnt been decided yet.
Its likely clubs wont want to be relegated in an unfinished season.
One solution for the WPL might be to promote the 2 eligible clubs,Haverfordwest and Fflint and have a 14 club league next season. You could have a split league format 38 games or play 3 times 39 games. The 12 team league has its benefits but the biggest drawback is not enough games just 10 left after the split in early January 5 at home not enough really for clubs at this level.
Chance of relegation too high difficult for clubs to stabilise and stay there for a few seasons. Quite a few clubs want a bigger top division this would be a good compromise IMO. Dont know about play offs not keen on them myself but could still have them if clubs wanted it.
Cymru North and South leagues ar part of the WPL now anyway so cant see the drawback really. This has been discussed in Scotland for the SPL as well apparently.
Id like to add my congratulation to Connahs Quay on winning the league, well deserved.

I’ve seen Prestatyn may not have passed domestic licence because of their ground, can’t find any articles on it though. If true Flint Town in the Cymru Prem.

Caernarfon Town considering legal action because Barry Town have been have been awarded the European spot normally given to Welsh Cup winners.
