I dont understand why people have written him off so early. If you look at his goals this season they have not been flukes or defensive errors they have been self made and topped off with a cracking finish- that proves that he has got the talent. I think he needs to get his first goal for Wales and then they will come a lot more regularly. Hopefully a move to the prem will speed things up a bit.
Admittedly Vokes is a better target man but Morison would get more goals.

As you say Storm "Hopefully".
Personally, I think he's been shown to be way out of his depth at international level. He's nowhere near being a Hartson... or a Nathan Blake.

I dont think hes a Hartson type of player, he has the build- but hes more of a goalscorer than a centre forward which is why I say that Vokes is a better option for that sort of thing. In a lot of ways Morison is like Earnie, if they dont score goals they dont make much of a contribution. Morison at least has some stature about him and isnt knocked off the ball like Earnie.

I hope you're right Storm but we've seen nothing to be optomistic about so far at international level.

He doesn't look much like a premier league striker to me, but then Lambert seems to have worked some magic regarding the likes of Holt and Crofts, so lets hope he goes to Norwich and Lambert can work some more...
Extraordinary really what he's managed to do at Norwich, but maybe it's got something to do with his being a limited player himself (although very, very decent) who still manged to win the European cup?

Steve Morison scored for Norwich City v Sunderland in the Premier league tonight. Steve started the game as Norwich's main striker ahead of Grant Holt & James Vaughan, he was subbed after 78 mins. David Vaughan had a fair game for Sunderland who were poor and went down 2-1 to the Canaries. Andrew Crofts came on for Norwich with 7 mins left.

Congratulations to Morison on his fisrt premier league goal! And with his first international goal a few weeks back he must really feel now like he's made it to the top, having worked so hard to drag himself up from non league football. Now the big question is; can he sustain it for three or four seasons? I hope so.
Interesting to see Crofts only on for the last few mins. He surely must be sixth in the central midfiled pecking order at this point. Based on what we saw against England/Montenegro and current club form I reckon it must be
1 Ramsey 2 Collison (if he's fit??? Ok, hasn't played for WHU in last 2 games but superb vs England) 3 Allen (especially as the next match is at his home ground) 4 Ledley 4= Vaughan (can't decide between those two at this point...) 6 Crofts 7 Edwards 7= King

There's only one Stevie Morison, one Stevie Morison, he used to be sh*te, but now he's alright, walking in a Morison wonderland.
Must admit I'm not convinced he's the solution to our striking woes, but nice to see him getting a goal, starting and playing well.

He knows where he has got to and likes it. Also, if he wants to stay there and make his mark he cannot rest on his laurels. hence the positive attitude. long may it continue.

I might be wrong, but it seems like every recent Norwich teamsheet I've glanced at has Morison on the bench.
Is this correct?
Is he out of favour? Is it a formation change thing?
I can't believe Lambert won't be looking to buy a new striker for next season...Morison needs to play.

Lovely equaliser from Morison today. I think that was his 9th of the season- not bad for a first season in the top flight/ bestest league in the world etc
Needs to be more consistant next seaon though. I think that goal was his first for quite a while.

Improve your research and you will see that he started their last game against Liverpool. He was crap. How many other games in the last twenty has he started? Ive just had the most cursory of glances and seen that he started against Leicester in the FA Cup, Newcastle on 18th of March, Fulham on the 31st of March and Liverpool the other week, so I don't know where you are getting this out of favour nonsense from. Did you really expect him to be starting every game? He is competing with Grant Holt for a place and all bias aside Grant Holt is simply a better player so Morison has done well to get as many games as he has in my book. So take it from someone who has had the misfortune of seeing Norwich too many times this season - Morison is still a part of Lambert's plans and will be at Norwich next season.

This is a c+p off the FF site. The first 3 columns after the score are minutes played, goals scored and assists. He deffinitely had a purple patch midseason (5 in 6) and has definitely APPEARED to have fallen out of favour in recent months. Whether that is due to lack of goals or simply due to the opposition is open for debate.

As I've previously stated there are at least 4 starts there. If he had 'fallen out of favour' he wouldnt even be making the bench would he?

No reason why not, he just wasn't considered good enough to start. Without looking at their formations and injuries it's hard to tell if that is why he played so many full games.
It's fairly safe to say that in the summer they will be looking to strengthen and whilst I can't see him moving anywhere else his place and not Holts will be in the most danger if they bring in another striker.
