Only a good thing for Cymru!!

Great to see a couple of Welsh flags in the crowd there, doubt they're Welsh but Bale's obviously put our nation on the map in a number of different ways in his career.

This is good for his confidence though isn't it and he does not have to go at 100mph!
Both goals he has scored have seen him make sprints from the half way line!
We just need him and Ramsey to stay fit until December, for Wilson to have fully recovered by then and for Brooks to be back to full match fitness and we will all be extremely happy!

A lot were sceptical about this move, but it turns out that essentially he gets warm weather training & then just enough competitive action to keep him fresh.
Dare I say it, but it’s arguably the perfect outcome for us.

Amazing - he could easily have got far more money at another club but appears to have focussed on getting himself in the best condition for us for the World Cup. This is not normal. We will never see the likes of Bale again - a genuine superstar who prioritised his country above all else. Having him and an OK team around him has helped us qualify for these 3 tournaments BUT his 'exceptional' commitment and effect on the average team members has arguably been the decisive factor in what we have achieved.
I want him to avoid injury ahead of the WC primarily for himself as he deserves it so, so much. The guy should get the freedom of Wales - he has done so much for Welsh sport and in putting Wales on the map!

Yes, just seen it but have to say the opposition defenders looked a bit naff! Well what are you expecting from the MLS? The biggest name defender is one of Bale’s team mates. Keeping himself fit is obviously good, but he’ll probably have to work harder for goals like that at the World Cup.

Glad to see him pissing on the league, it is poor defending though. He wouldn't be scoring that at international level. That being said it's clearly a good confidence builder & he seems very happy there which is great

It’s not like teams in other leagues have poor defenders to be fair.
Half the defenders in the Championship and possibly Prem would shit themselves if Gareth was running at them.
Lovely to see him enjoying himself.

Championship is not exactly overloaded with world class defenders tbf,not building up the MLS it is what it is,but let's not read too much into a centre back drawn wide being skinned, anyone who says they've never seen that in our leagues is just lying. For me the key thing in both his goals so far was the long sprints from deep to make them.,keep that up till the world Cup I for one will be delighted.

Fair comment but it was noticeable that he hasn’t played like that in many a year. All of a sudden at LA he’s doing the sort of stuff that he used to in his younger years that he failed to show in the latter stages at Madrid. Has he rediscovered himself or is the standard so poor he knows that he can get away with it?

I think feeling the love has got to help, and maybe here they are less concerned about how everything "looks" just happy if he performs. He will get better as his match fitness builds up,and even if this league is of a lesser standard,he showed what he could do from little or no game time to playing for us, so from whatever level he gets to in MLS for me it's a win for Wales.

Agree. Doubts creeping in with Welsh support re his selection were mainly about his physical condition. He'll always have enough in terms of touch and nous to be effective for us but if he's fully fit, happy and confident, then this contribution can still reach world class levels. I'd rather he was being selected and thriving in a so called minor league than not getting any game time in a major league.

Flat track bully feel to that goal! You have to be good to be a flat track bully. Kudos to Bale Agree with that, it’s the Marc Barta goal but with a player long in the tooth Vs a player he never expected to be up against. Bale can only do what he does but by the same token the World will judge against the standard he plays at. He’s gone for a sort of semi-retirement league which will keep him fit but let’s not pretend he’s reinvented the wheel. It’s a good standard to keep him fit for the World Cup no more no less

For your viewing pleasure... I was there for 2 of those- not the best two though unfortunately! That one against Serbia is a hell of a hit. The keeper going the wrong way just based on his body shape. I’d argue the one against Andorra was arguably the most important of all. When I think about the referee allowing it to be retaken it has the feel of a real “sliding doors” moment for Welsh football. But for that decision and free kick it may all have turned out so very differently….

Had neither of those two things happened, then I don’t believe that any of the last 8 years or so would have happened either

I watched the game last night and one I saw one of the most bizarre things I’ve seen in professional football for ages. During the second half the camera was on Bale and the person sitting in the dugout behind him as in a member of what I assume is LAFC staff was wearing a Cardiff City polo. The person directly behind him was security but to the right. Surely couldn’t be a fan but it seemed so odd to me.

Not watched the game, he's had some shockers for Wales but he's a flair player. If the games going for him he's on fire, if it's not he's terrible. Take those Austria goals away and it wasn't a classic but he stepped up when it counted.
