Reports coming in that Real Madrid shirts with Bale printed on the back selling now in Spanish shops. Hasta la vista. That's a relatively old photo that was doing the rounds on the net a couple weeks ago. I thought I'd read somewhere that a shop in the Canaries had put it in the window to drum up some business on the back of all the Bale-mania, however someone in the comments of that story suggests it was actually in Gibraltar. However there does seem to be much more Bale oriented stories than usual doing the rounds today...something's certainly up!

Unless it's sorted either way soon, he'll be 'injured' and wont be playing against Macedonia.

As I said, this was sorted weeks ago. Spuds set up a partnership with Madrid when Modric was sold - the last few weeks they have been spending the Bale money and avoiding the extra 10 million surcharge for each player had the Bale deal officially gone through.

The most expensive footballer (sportsman of any kind?) in the history of the world will soon be welsh folks.
A historic moment approaches...

Just to add that if the sums being bandied about are correct Leigh Halfpenny could soon become the most expensive rugby player as well. A 'golden age' for Welsh talent at least, if not actual success?

Bah, I love rugby as much as the next man- but each Six nations win gets more and more diluted. The real test of success is winning the world cup (which, really we should have done in 2011) or beating the SH sides regularly. We haven't hit those heights yet although we are not far off.

I mean rugby no ill but it is harder not to be competitive than to be competitive. The field is so narrow compared to football.

Rival bid for Bale being considered. Please God let it not be from Man United. I get the impression Fergie is still pulling strings from behind the scenes, that comment by Moyes about fixture bias was pure Ferguson. If it is United then everyone knows they don't have the buying power so would be player(s) plus cash, most likely Rooney. Would be amusing if he was never for sale to Chelsea as he was being kept back as a makeweight for Bale
In another development Spurs are still trying to sign a replacement and are trying to sign Mata from Chelsea before they let Bale go.
The whole thing is turning into a circus. Wonder what the odds are on the unthinkable happening and the transfer window closing with no resolution and Bale still a Spurs player til January?

Bale signs for Real, it's done and dusted. Either an agent or possibly Levy is just trying to squeeze out a few more Euros.

Very worried he will not be fit in time for our next two qualifiers. The BBC stated that he will be fit for Spurs game against Arsenal on 1st September. So that should mean he will be fine to start for us. Unless he takes a leaf out of Ramsey and Collins book ;D

He'll be announced as a Madrid player this week I reckon. I just want to see him back to be honest. The football World has been robbed of watching him play because of this saga.
I'm not worried about him being fit for our games unless he gets injured in a match before ours.

When was the last time he played?

Even if he is available for Macedonia, there's got to be a huge question about whether he will be match fit. Certainly can't see him playing 90 minutes.

He's been injured many times before for around the same time as this and started straight away on his come back. I expect he'll sign in the next few days and come on as a sub this weekend.

Worrying news: www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur/10267099/Gareth-Bales-move-to-Real-Madrid-put-on-hold-by-Tottenham-Hotspur.htmlLooks like Spurs are determined to sign even more fucking players before letting him go. That Lamela and they are also interested in Hulk, absolutely crazy the amount of money they have thrown around even on top of the money they will get for Bale. If Bale doesn't sign til after the North London derby then that would mean he would have played no football going into the double header. That would surely make him a doubt to play a full part. I will be in Spain during our two games so will be interested to see if there is any coverage in the Spanish media for our matches as interest in Bale will no doubt be at its peak.

I don't think he is injured at all. Madrid apparently wanted him to play for us against Ireland but he refused to because spurs didn't want to risk him actually getting injured. Whether he signs for Madrid or not, whether he plays minutes or not, I think he'll play for us. I could of course, be wrong.

Would be surprised if there was truth in it, would a club ever be in favour of a player playing a meaningless international friendly- especially when injury could scupper their transfer? Bale also doesn't seem like the type to refuse to play unless actually injured.

www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2402337/Real-Madrid-ready-Gareth-Bales-grand-entrance.htmlArticles all about Bale from the beginning to today and his imminent arrival at the Bernabeu. Note the following extract: "This is the club who deal in glamour more than any other. There is a special case reserved for those Real players who have won the Ballon d’Or annual award for Europe’s best player. There are 11 Goldenballs on display and none belong to David Beckham, who is a curiously low-key figure in the club’s halls of fame" Curiously?!!

If by "good for welsh football" he means that we will never see him play for Wales again and it will give a young lad from the under 21s a chance to win a few caps, then yes- Man United would be an excellent move for Bale. Man United would be the worst possible move for him, they are also turning into a joke of a club with their lack of spending power and derisory bids.
