Terms with the player agreed according to the BBC and a bid of £86 million being considered.
Will Spurs sell or won't they?
If they sell its likely to go through at 11pm on the 1st, leaving Madrid no time to sell Benzema and De Maria to Arsenal, Bale will obviously not face Arsenal and risk injury through all this so its likely that he will have no football between now and our double header. Can't help but think this will affect the role he can play, no football at all since a friendly with Swindon a couple of months ago.
I'm much less confident about the Macedonia game, with Allen already looking like hes out. All eyes will be on Ramsey and whether he plays 90 minutes against Spuds now.

Can we now talk about meaningless games and Allen (a £15 million player) being played against Notts County in a competition no-one gives a toss about and consequently getting injured?

That doesn't worry me so much- Bale himself seems to take playing for Wales very seriously and will want to be involved. At worst he will probably be restricted in his time on the pitch, which was going to be a factor anyway after not being able to play for so long.
I must admit, I do have some sympathy for Real- imagine if Bale signs in time for the deadline but after Real's game with Bilbao - then gets a serious injury during our double header....doesn't even bear thinking about.
However if those reports do turn out to be true then the people who would have really fucked us are Spurs for letting this sorry tale drag on for so long just so they can fuck Arsenal over with the purchase of Kaka/Benzema/Di Maria.

He won't be match fit though. I doubt Bale will play for more than 60 minutes in each game. Given the the way he took Scotland apart in the final 10 minutes at CCS that's a real blow.

Yeah, when will Bale have played a football match, friendly or competitive for any team before our match on Friday?
Over three months ago last season with Spurs? Has he played - or trained - at all pre-season? He is going to be completely match-unfit for us, and will have somewhere in his mind not wanting to be injured for the start of his new career.
What with Allen out, Collins ejected, and Bale unfit I have a bad feeling about these qualifiers.

John Hartson just now while commenting on the City v Hull match was asked about Bale and Wales.
He said: "I hope he comes with us, maybe even play for us, but it will depend on what Real Madrid will say (presuming he signs)"
So we will be lucky if he even travels to Macedonia, let alone plays.

Earlier in the week I thought the deal would have been done a few days ago, then he would play a few minutes for Madrid and then come away with us. Now, I don't think he'll play for us and possibly not even meet up with us at any stage of the international break. I can't imagine Madrid wanting his first game after the announcement to be for Wales away against Macedonia and I do understand that in this scenario, as much as I'd love to see him play.

Its all thanks to Mr. egotistical Levy. Not only has he taken Bale's transfer down to the wire to extract the maximum transfer fee, but I fear he has also decided that Madrid may want to fund part of the transfer fee by offloading players Arsenal would want, hence the desire to delay the transfer to the last minute. What is it with Wales - we seem to be cursed in football!

What is it with Wales - we seem to be cursed in football! It is hard not to consider that Wales have once again been fucked by an outrageous twist of fate at a crucial time. The loss of Allen is a blow, but it would be mitigated by having the one player we can't do without available for selection. Yet we will likely be without Bale now, even though he will be fit to play this weekend, firstly because a player who is nothing to do with us decided to join Chelsea at the last minute and then in the aftermath Arsenal's interest in two of Reals players became public meaning that Spurs will hang on to Bale now until the 11th hour, meaning that we will go into two winnable games short of a player who can win the game for us on his own. The next 3 games were always the games which would make or break 3rd place for us and once again we have been fucked, it's really fucking annoying. The Macedonians must be laughing their heads off- I wonder how many players will be injured for them?

Whether Bale plays or not, to expect miracles from him when he's completely un-match-ready would be optimistic to say the least.
If he plays we're more likely to see Bale vs Scotland away 1st half than Bale vs Scotland home 2nd half.
We are cursed - I so won't be surprised if Ramsey gets a knock tomorrow.

I would play him as a sub against Macedonia and start him against Serbia. Give him 35 minutes against Macedonia which will help his match fitness for the Serbia game.

Strewth! The latest from the BBC is that all of a sudden Levy wants a clause inserted stipulating that Real will have to pay 10 million to Spurs if they sell Bale to a premier league team within 4 years.
This sounds like a total stalling tactic to make the transfer drag on, I wish they would just go fuck themselves so this transfer can be put to bed. Ridiculous.

From the BBC website: There is a point of view that Tottenham are delaying Gareth Bale's move to Real Madrid to make it difficult for rivals Arsenal to sign players they are interested in from the Spanish club.

Wonder what the odds are on Bale staying at Spurs? Eventually, the delaying tactics may delay the transfer so much that the window passes.

Wonder what the odds are on Bale staying at Spurs? Eventually, the delaying tactics may delay the transfer so much that the window passes. Personal terms have been agreed, so were it to go through the transfer could happen in an instant so I don't think there is much chance of it not going through through carlessness due to time. But some of the info doing the rounds in the last 24 hours (after personal terms were said to be agreed) indicates that it's far from a done deal as it seemed to e before the William incident. The price for example keeps dropping- apparently due to greater up front payments, though there is a rumour that Ronaldo is unhappy at his transfer record being usurped and that generally Bale is not considered needed, he is a Perez signing. Not a good basis for a move. And sky sports news have said that sources close to Bale are saying not to assume that it's a done deal. A possibility perhaps that Bale is considering staying due to the squad enhancement that spurs have done? And for me, the most telling thing is that bookies are apparently still taking bets on the transfer going through. They wouldn't be doin that if it was a doe deal. Could all be smoke and mirrors, but I certainly wouldn't rule out now that Bale could stay. I still think that would be a good outcome for Wales- and make spurs premier league title contenders?

Fuck me, Spurs spend a lot of money to look fucking awful against a team who spent nothing. And to think the Spuds fans were saying they don't need Bale now!
On that evidence I guess the Bale transfer is off until January so Levy can buy 10 more 'replacements'.

I hope so certainly think Bale wants to play for us - even Madrid acknowledge how much it means t o him. I think its a bit much to expect the 'usual' miracles but his presence could be enough to fire us.

My hope is that we restrict Macedonia to a 0-0 scoreline with 30 minutes to go and then bring Bale on, that will surely intimidate the Macedonians if nothing else, suffering from tired legs and then seeing the worlds most expensive player coming on to run at them. They will undoubtedly try and mark him out of the game and even if he can't influence the game directly he should be able to create space for others.
