This was probably done to death on the old forum, but what was the first Wales international you went to?
I was probably older (11) than most as my dad was a rugby fan so only after months of nagging persuaded him to take me to see us play Luxembourg. We won, 1-0. A Bodin penalty.
First kit though was the Hummel one from the 80's.

Wales v Denmark 1987 pissing down with rain - Ninian Park - horrible conditions - kicked the then european aristocrats off the park in a 1-0 win. Awesome.

Comparitively recent compared to some on here; Wales v Germany back in 2002, when we won 1-0 thanks to Earnshaw's goal. I was 14 at the time. Used to watch games on TV a lot earlier than that though.

Argentina in 2002, I was 17. I'd never lived in Wales up to that point so it was a massive deal, having the day of college to travel across. Awesome match and I remember it being a decent crowd too.

Nice to see so many replies!
A number of the posters did start going to games through the Hughes era (primarily due to age). If you think the Toshack era was bad be happy you did not have to see the displays by Goulds and Mike Smiths (2nd time) teams!

my first game was at the racecourse ,1980,we beat england 4-1. i was 14 at the time a school trip, from ysgol david hughes,
also saw chech, then went on to spain, etc, hughes goal!! watched all wrexham based games for wales since then, and having travelled to 96% of home games since then, travelling from anglesey, i was bitten by the bug, since then my 3 sons have watched from as young an age as 6,and have been regulars since, can t fight off the bug, my only hope, THAT WE QUALIFY TO A CHAMPIONSHIP AT SOME POINT IN MY LIFE!!

Even though I have been watching Wales on tv since the late 80's, my first senior game was the 5-1 drubbing against Slovakia. I managed to persuade a load of mates to take the long journey down south, banging on about how Wales were going to tonk them, and then that happens. At least Bale scored a great free kick and most of the Slovakia goals were awesome.

Didn't get to that game but i remember listening to it on radio whilst at a club game and kicking the sh*t out of the perimeter fence as the goals went in much to the amusement of my English mates. There's a piece of plastic still in orbit to this day because of that game, nearly broke a toe.

USSR at the Cae Ras, May 1981. School trip but my dad was there too coz he was one of the teachers. Was also my birthday treat! No goals though unfortunately. Mickey Thomas ran his arse off. Best kit ever too!

1989 - Wales 0 West Germany 0
I was 7 years old and went with my Dad and Uncle. Can't remember much, apart from Rush's 'tache, Sparky's perm, and the hummel kit.
Two dates I'll never forget - 5/6/91 (beating the Germans 1-0) and 17/11/93 (Romania, enough said...)

0-0 v. USSR at the vetch. 86/87 ish?? I was about 13? Ish?
Mam and Dad took me and my brother, after lots of persuasion. They had (and still have) very little interest. I was bitten by the bug. Went to a few games up to early 90's, then stopped going, especially as things got bad under Gould. Rekindled again after going to the Germany and Argentina friendlies in 2002 under Hughes, and i think i've only missed one or two home games since.
