To be fair to James, he was excellent tonight at both sides of the field. He wasn't that hot in the last 4 or 5 matches, but did indeed shine tonight.
Neil has carried on showing great bursts of energy down the flank - will be surprised if Ryan doesn't pick him.

When Chester came off injured Owain Tudur Jones on the S4C commentary said that he'd been carrying an injury and wasn't expected to last 90 minutes anyway. Which may explain why he couldn't get back to make a challenge on Jorgensen for the opener. It also makes it even harder to understand why Giggs went so defensively light in midfield knowing that one of his CBs was carrying an injury.

I think losing Dummett and Chester were big blows and had a big impact on our game, sadly.

It doesn't look good for our James ;=( Could be a chance for Regan Poole to get a call up?

Having James as well as Ethan back for June would be a huge boost.

More to the point Villa have won ten on the bounce is it without him, will be get back in the team?

Any chance on James featuring tonight? If not, he may as well come down to Cardiff and train with the lads tomorrow and Thursday ;-)

Not happy with the way this mickey mouse club is treating our James. Must be something with the Birmingham water. At first it was Dave Edwards and now its yet another Captain fantastic going from hero to zero.
Have a word with Giggsy, as I am sure Ole Gunnar will be more than happy to have you back ;-)

He’s been injured for months. Hardly going to play him now are they?

Mings is Villa’s main CB at the moment, can’t risk putting Chester with him incase they don’t gel. I think they’d do well together but my opinion isn’t worth £100,000,000. I think Chester’s seasons over but he’ll be back in a big way next season.

Chester first up the steps with Grealish as they lift the promotion cup together. Hopefully this means he’s got a big part to play next season in the Prem.

Great news CrackityJones
HE was the reason that Wales finally broke 50 odd years of hurt by qualifying for a finals in 2015!!!
Very experienced solid central defender who still has at least a couple of years left in him at international level!!

News today that Chester's career could be in jeopardy due to a long term injury that he continued to play with, and has become chronic. He's been training for a few weeks with Villa but the injury has to be managed now.
Shame if he has to retire, been great for Wales over the past few years and one of the 2016 legends.

Bloody hell that's sad news, absolutely gutted for him. This is one scenario where I wouldn't blame him for retiring from international duty.

Thinking about this carefully, Villa should be held accountable for playing him through injury when there was a risk of long term damage. I hope they pay him a wage until he retires. Disgraceful treatment from a professional football club.

Disgraceful treatment from a professional football club. You've made some big assumptions there. You don't know that him playing through this injury has caused the long-term injury or whether he was playing through it already knowing it's something he'll always have until he retires. You also don't know whether villa were pressurising him to play or whether he was the one driving it / keeping quiet on any discomfort etc.

Paul McGrath never trained because of his knees. When you read a statement saying ‘Managing an injury’ then he probably got more years left than you think. They just have to manage the injury well

Glad to hear he isn't retiring from international football. Will always go down as a legend to me as I think he made a huge difference to our defensive solidarity, as well improving our ability to play out from the back with his composure. Without him we wouldn't have achieved what we achieved, and I hope he gets back to form and fitness soon.
