I agree with those who said that without Bale we aren't the same. Fact is, Crofts is, and has always been, a limited player, whose main job is to break up play. Our midfield in general had a poor game the other day, passing backwards too much and losing possession a lot. Allen was shown to perhaps not be as good as some of us thought without top players around him. Bale would have given them some space to work with, as he usually demands two markers. Bellamy is the other irreplaceable player, I think he showed the other day that he will offer us something for a good while yet if he wants to carry on. His threat was the gratest we carried by some margin, and he and Matthews worked quite well together I thought.
I agree with texan that the emotional magnitude of the game was always going to make it difficult for us to win with style, consequently it is too early to judge Coleman yet. There were some positives to take from the game and it was nowhere near as bad as Australia at home, or England at home. I thought Robson Kanu actually had a decent game, as did Morison and Collison when he came on. Those guys were the ones willing to have a go and try things.

Crofts is an up to date version of the Carls..... The player he reminds me most of is Carl Robinson- gives 100%, heart on his sleeve, gets stuck in etc. But good enough to play in central midfield against the better teams at international level? not for me thanks. |

I think Joe Ledley has been our most expensive loss in midfield, he has been very impressive for Celtic and would've played alongside Ramsey & Allen in my opinion. Andrew Crofts isn't that big a loss, Allen can play the defensive role and then we can have any one of King/Edwards/Williams. I'd love to throw Williams in there but I think we'll go for Edwards.

Crofts is under rated, he's a cracking player. Ash in midfield backfired big time with Flynn in charge and it would also mean having to bring ginger bollocks in, and he should never play for us again!

Given he played and scored last Saturday after withdrawing injured, Wales should -
1. Use UEFA rules to stop him playing next game for Brighton.
2.Tell him he won't be selected again for Wales unless he issues a full written apology.
I'm not a Coleman fan, but Crofts cannot be allowed to get away with this.
