Romania currently moving into Pot 2, Russia down to Pot 3. Ireland still with a chance if they can beat Bulgaria and Northern Ireland beat Romania.
Bosnia moving to Pot 4 if Greece hold onto their draw with Slovenia. If Bosnia could get a draw against Italy then Finland would drop to Pot 4 if we win.

Luxembourg, Andorra & San Marino please. Plenty of potential pitfalls in Pot 3 - strongest a Pot 3 has ever looked to me, Finland right at the bottom of it is a surprise

Agree with best, except that I'd swap Denmark for Croatia.
Worst:
1. Belgium 2. Wales 3. Norway 4. Bosnia 5. Kosovo 6. Malta
Norway are definitely the one you want to avoid in Pot 3, IMO.

Croatia on the decline for sure. I’d argue they’ll be worse than when we played them last year especially with Modric in his last few years. That’s not to say he still won’t cause us problems if he’s still around.
But obviously 80% chance it’ll be someone other than Croatia or Denmark. Hope it’s a good away day at least!

Surely Northern Ireland would be an easier draw than Iceland?
The acclimatise to the heat of Qatar group - Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Malta
The 'permanent damage to my kidneys' group - Amsterdam, Prague, Ljubljana, Tallinn, Chisinau
The 'Lonely Planet' Wales Away group - Croatia, Russia. F**k any country out of Pots 4, 5 and 6 :-)
What a time to be a Welsh international football fan!

I want to avoid Norway at all costs simply because that Erling Haaland sends gives me nightmares I think I feel about him how other countries must have felt about Bale when he was in his prime. Just that fear that if he turns up and has a good game there might be a absolutely nothing you can do as a team to stop him. I think I fear him more because he's in a Pot 3 team as well which means it could be a huge banana skin. I hope we avoid Norway completely for the next 10 years tbh For context, his performance vs N.I is exactly what I'm talking about youtu.be/LnGk30WCmus

It was a one man show, he absolutely murdered them. We have to be hoping for Northern Ireland from that pot, if we're not too hung up on away days. Russia, Czech Republic, Scotland and Finland all had decent nations league campaigns and could make things tricky for us, Iceland impressed me in their home match against England which I felt they were unlucky to lose, Norway have a future Ballon D'Or winner and Greece have a rather young side which could well have improved massively by 2022. Northern Ireland stick out as the poorest side amongst that lot for me, and aren't as hard to beat as they were 4 years ago. It's pointless discussing it though as it's nailed on that we'll draw Ireland.

Iceland in pot 3, Bosnia in pot 4... Could this be the worry for us moving up into Group A in the Nations League? If we compete brilliant, if it’s a bit too much for us we fall from pot 2.
I think it could be better for UEFA and FIFA to just go with the Nations League pooling. Bosnia and Iceland either just scraping pot 1 or high pot 2.
I think staying in pot 2 is the way to go.

Best group,
1. Croatia 2. Wales 3. Finland or NI 4. Belarus 5. Andorra 6. San Marino ( I would love to have these in the group to give the youngsters opportunities to play competitive games)
Worst Group
1. France 2. Wales 3. Norway (They will be at the top of Pot 2 come next qualifiers) 4. Bosnia 5. Kazakhstan

NI beat Bosnia away don't forget. I don't think they are anything like the team we faced in 14/15 anymore. Iceland have been on a continual downhill slope since the end of 2017. Probably not a popular opinion, but relegation from League A is probably not the worst thing in some ways as we could then gain promotion from League B in 2024 and get into the 2026 WCQ play-offs - assuming the format stays the same with the expansion of the WC then.

We have to be hoping for Northern Ireland from that pot, if we're not too hung up on away days. If people wanna go to these places there's nothing stopping people. I'd rather us win games and qualify for tournaments than a nice few days away.

I'm not sure it really matters much who we get from pots 4,5, and 6. Especially 5 and 6.
If they're strong for those pots then they are just as likely to take a point or two off the top teams as they are against us.
Slight chance they could slip into the top two I suppose.
So I'd go for
Denmark Nord Irland Luxembourg
plus 1 or 2 others

Kosovo are in a false position due to their limited history. I'd rather have somebody like Latvia.

ROI are gash at the minute ROI have a team almost full of Premier League level players when fit. We couldn't beat them away from home when they had a heavily depleted squad, also they have a couple of young, promising strikers. Avoid.

And they take results off other teams. If it’s all weak teams then it’s a bun fight between the top two. Get a couple of spoilers in there.

I'm not sure it really matters much who we get from pots 4,5, and 6. Especially 5 and 6. A long ass flight to Azerbaijan or Kazakhstan, a 4 hour bus trip to Andorra, playing in Cyprus heat at the start of September versus playing in Latvia, Lithuania or Estonia. I think that I know which the FAW will prefer.

They might have a point

Plus we struggled to beat them home when they also had a huge number of players missing. I'd hate to play them again, and I think they probably feel like owing us one now. For best chances of qualifying I'd say: Croatia (aging team, not THAT many up and coming players) Wales Iceland Belarus Faroe Islands Moldova My bogey group: Portugal Wales Norway Georgia Kosovo Malta I'm very surprised that Norway are in pot 3.

Here's another 4 reasons I'd like to avoid Norway. Seriously, for his 3rd goal the defender just takes 1 slack touch and he makes up about 10 yards to pinch the ball off him & then no one's catching him - including the keeper youtu.be/byq5jWhLk8Q
