Yes you are! James Collins is a proud Welshman and I believe was genuinely injured. Craig Morgan? he shouldn't be allowed near a Welsh shirt! he's absolute rubbish at this level.

OK Cliff, Morgan isn't good enough, but Collins just seems so complacent these days. I hope he's dropped for the Australia game and Gabbidon- Williams are given a chance to establich themselves as Wales centre back partnership.
Anway, back to you going on about this being the worst Wales squad in all your time as a fan. Do you seriously beleive that? cos it seems to me we were no great shakes between the demise of the great '58 team and the emergence of the excellent mid 70s team. so basically there was a whole decade between about '62 and '72 when we were shite really. And like I said in another post, Carl Robinson and Carl Fletcher were our first choice central midfielders a few years back! Are we really worse than that now?

Yeah we were not that good in that period although in 61 we drew with Spain in Madrid in a WC qualifier 1-1 in 65 we beat Greece 4-1 in a WC qualifier also in 65 we beat the WHOLE Soviet Union 2-1 in a WC qualifier in Cardiff (I was there!) in 68/69 we drew both games with West Germany 1-1. At home we beat a world class Scotland side 3-2 in1964 (Wyn scored 1) in 65 we beat N.Ireland 5-0 in Belfast after winning there 4-1 two years previous and in 70/71 we drew both games with England. There were no San Marino's about then all good sides.

IF Collins is fit, then I believe it has to be Gabbidon, Collins in there. They have experience of parterning each other for Wales. James Collins to me never looks comfortable having Ashley Williams partnering him.

Gabbidon's had his contract extended at West Ham apparently, a season (hopefully free of injury) in the Championship may well get him sharp again. If this turns out to be the case I would like to see a Gabbidon - Williams partnership tested properly at least once.

really? that is absolutely remarkable! i can only assume he's had to take a 50% paycut.

Maybe Gabbidon has had a momment of self-awareness and realised that he's been taking the piss by picking up 50 grand a week for his West Ham 'performances' over the past 3 seasons? He owes that club a few seasons of the old Gabbidon on considerably lower wages for sure.

He has been really unlucky with injuries, but the fact remains that he's actually played only 10 matches for West Ham in the past two and a half seasons.
I think that as his contract's now up West Ham see this as a good chance to renegotiate a much cheaper contract. Gabbidon knows no Prem team would touch him with his recent history, and he's already at one of the main clubs that will be fighting it out for promotion next season. Makes sense all round for him to stay put really.

He did us a favour. We would have lost by more otherwise.
At least he has shown what he is made of now. Speed should think very carefully about calling him up again.

it's a shame no one like qpr or norwich fancied a punt especially when you consider not that long ago it was rumored liverpool where interested. maybe it was under hodgson though

Do not want him anywhere near the Welsh squad, has no respect for Wales what so ever, feels English, when younger walked round Buckley with England shirts on and is a shit footballer.

I'd rather have a youth player called up to make up the numbers if all of those were out.

At the moment I make him out 5th choice centre back. Hopefully the young defenders at Bristol City- Nyatanga, Wilson and Ribeiro - can progress to push him even further back in the pecking order.

Danny Collins has never done anything unforgivably bad. OK, for a while he was unavailable for selection under Toshack but that was 50-50 really. At least he did not retire and made it known he would like to come back, giving Toshack several invitations to pick him, whether Tosh should have made efforts to recall him is debateable but the vitriol is unfair imo.

+1 The rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrat. -1. Danny Collins has never done anything unforgivably bad. Oh of course, nothing in this world is unforgivable. A civilised society will always afford the opportunity for redemption. My issue with Collins the rrrrrrrrat is the smirking, 'don't give a shit', interview he did with lisa the rrrrrrrrat rogers on Sport Wales. Anyway, I doubt we'll be seeing much more of him for too long, the rrrrrrrrrrrrrrat.

If this is true and he's thinking of dumping on his country then I hope he goes soon with my wishes that his career heads down to the lower leagues. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15160529.stmIf he hasn't got the commitment to fight for his place in the team, then he won't have it to fight to get us qualified. We don't want ths sort of detritus hanging round the Wales squad as it did around 6 or 7 years ago. We need the attitude to be that you don't retire from Wales - Wales retires you.

At the moment he's 3rd choice but if he is to selfish to accept that and sit on the bench then f*** him. After all the retirements from the last generation of players we've only now started to turn the corner. He played through all that, he knows more than anyone how bad it got because other players were selfish and didn't put the next generation of players ahead of their own feelings.
How many times did Robbo travel from Canada to sit on the bench? Yeah it's not ideal and it's not what you dream of when they were kids but we need players who put Cymru first and foremost.
