James Collins is someone who takes an unprofessional attitude towards his work on occasion
Looks like he will be odds on t make that Coleman's first eleven then
He must be part of Coleman's drinking gang

He needs to be involved in qualifying. If Williams or Blake were to be injured or suspended, Collins would be my choice over Gabbidon or a un-tried Lynch... And definitely better than putting Gunter in there!

I really like Darcy Blake, and hope he plays so well vs Belgium that Coleman would find it impossible to drop him. BUT, I do wonder if Collins is better suited to dealing with Zigic's aerial threat when we go away to Serbia??

Who are our Young guns for after Williams and Collins retire from international football?

Fit enough to play a full 90 for West Ham today.
Joel Lynch was a shower of shit against Cardiff last night.

The England game should have been the last game big ginge ever played in a Wales shirt.
If he ever plays for Wales again I suggest we take on a class action law suit against the FAW.

Would rather let someone young and hungrier have a go. He's passed his best and it's doubtful he would even want to do a job for us even if he could. Even then he doesn't suit us, he's a clogger.

Against his old team who are also cloggers, let's see how he does this weekend against a team that plays a more international style of footie.

Collins has let Wales down time and time and time again.

Williams and Blake struggled against Bosnia. I think Collins deserves another look in.
He kept Darren Bent in his pocket. I also think we need someone with his experience and guts to mark Fellani. Darcy Blake would be a bit out of his depth I think (especially seeing as he's not playing at all for Cardiff).

Old(ish) article but Blake needs to move. He's got no chance of getting in Cardiff's team ahead of Turner/Hudson at the moment.
Btw- Anyone have any idea just what the fuck is going on with Ben Turner as regards a Wales call up?

No idea about Ben Turner but i read somewhere that if Rat Face Shawcross decides to play for Wales there will be some sort of International transfer which could take time to go through, its an odd one and in my opinion Turner will play for us but Shawcross wont!

This ain't, their have been rumours all day over it but could not find anything official www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19351749What an excellent signing for Palace this would be if he came, he would walk into the team getting regular games especially when our present lot have conceded 7 goals in two games. It's a real shame that a current Welsh international cannot get games & progress at a welsh club

Collins was pretty woeful today...seems that once again pace was his undoing.
What was more worrying for me was Coleman's praise for Ashley Williams on Sky after the game. Maybe it was just me, but what little Williams had to do he struggled with. He seemed too ready to rely on Vorm taking control just in front of the 6 yard box imo (something he won't have the luxury of doing with the inferior 'keepers we currently have for Wales).
We don't have a glut of good central defenders at the moment so we have to make do with Williams, Collins, Blake etc, but to heap undeserved praise on them surely isn't the right way to go about things.

And yet Williams recorded his second clean sheet of the season. Let's not forget that Coleman also praised Collins heavily too, admittedly for his performance the week before. But he also wasn't that critical of his mistake that led to the second goal. Coleman is the national manager. He isn't going to slag the players off. He has to pick and choose his words.
Ash is the first choice CB for Wales and has never had a good partnership with Collins. He does have a good partnership with Blake though. If they play badly in a meaningful game then we can look at alternatives but otherwise Ash and Blake are our first choice CB pairing.

You'd almost think Calamity James was playing in red today. I must confess, that after a poor show from Blake against Bosnia, and with him not playing for Cardiff that we might have to look to James again. With Blake now hopefully playing regularly at Palace played 90 minutes today - but perhaps in midfield?), and after that show from Collins I'm glad I can ditch that cancerous thought.
As for Williams - he was impressive, but not outstandingly so. Apart that is for one 60 yarder to free Rangel - that could easily have resulted in a goal. Hope they show it on MOTD - Hoddle would have been proud of that one.
Taylor is developing into one hell of a player. Hopefully his poor show against Bosnia (and Williams' for that matter) was a one-off.

Agree with all this...must admit, I was starting to wonder if Collins might deserve a recall too, but yesterdays performance should have put paid to that. It wasn't just the backpass either. As MOTD pointed out, in the 2nd half especially his positioning was all over the place. And as for that Williams pass, the word 'majestic' springs to mind.

Yes, Swansea recorded their second clean sheet (Williams being part of a five man defensive unit that includes the goalkeeper). I don't advocate Coleman slagging off any Welsh players, but to praise them seemingly without good reason is, in my opinion, also wrong. I don't think Williams and Talyor will be playing in defence with anyone as good as Rangel, Chico or Vorm when they put on the Welsh shirt. Belgium and Serbia are better teams than QPR and West Ham. It stands to reason that Williams in particular will have to play above the level he played at yesterday for us to keep a clean sheet in either game. Praising an ok performance as if he single-handedly kept Swansea's clean sheet indicates to me that Coleman would be happy with that level of performance for Wales. I don't think it will be good enough..
