A speedy full back who can play either on the right or the left, Adam has quickly progressed from the Academy to become a regular member of the Reserve squad.
Despite his age, Adam has already represented Wales up to under 19 level and has been on stand by for their under 21 squad on a number of occasions.
Made his first appearance for the senior squad in their pre-season match against Accrington Stanley, and was part of the first team squad that travelled to Hong Kong to play in the 2011 Barclays Asia Trophy.
Sounds promising! All the best to the lad!

Well with the way their owners appear to be asset stripping the club combined with the injuries the have at the back it can only be a matter of time when he makes his full debut.

I'm surprised it has 't been mentioned but the above made his premiership debut for Blackburn Rovers yesterday. He's only 17 , and a defender. Only on the bench for Wales U-21 mid-week. Surely must start next time for the U-21's as most of the others are not playing first team football.

I don't think he's fully Welsh, so I wouldn't get too excited. Someone should ask him on twitter.

Just had a scan of his Twitter and he seems pretty into playing for Wales, lots of tweets about it etc.
Still though, would be good to get some confirmation from the lad.

Henley has been playing for Wales since schoolboy so he must be commited to the cause, thought I remembered him from this game www.welshfootballtrust.org.uk/10753 What an excellent job the WFT does in identifying these players of the future

Do you know if he was raised in Wales, or moved over here from the US when he signed for blackburn?

He was born in USA but raised in North West from a young age. I think he's from Chorley or around there.

Surely must start next time for the U-21's as most of the others are not playing first team football. We may be witnessing the slowing down of younger players getting into older age group football. ie an U17 playing for the U21's. This may be due to the route to the senior team closing to all but the very best as the senior team is finally quite good and unreliant on the U21's. Previously most of our U21's were on senior duty which meant the U21's were supplemented by even younger players. I'm not sure if this is good or bad.

I'm not sure if this is good or bad. -------- It has to be good surely? For years our biggest problem was quite clearly a lack of strength in depth. We can't start complaining when we finally have a bit.

I'm not sure if this is good or bad. Most definitely good. In elite sport the steeper the 'pyramid' the better. I'm not usually one for spurious inter-sport comaprisons but look at the highest age-grade level for the following: rugby union - U20s rugby league - U18s (I think) cricket - U19s Put it another way: this is the final stage at which players are segregated by age. Each of the above sports is aware that it needs to have fresh supply of incoming players annually and that development tails off the longer players are insulated from broader, stronger competition (playing against men, not boys as it would no doubt be referred to on Talk Sport) Not all will 'make it' but many will. The longer they are insulated at age grade the fewer who will make the step up. The principle aggravating factor, of course, is whether they are getting games at domestic level.

Started against Liverpool today. Brilliant for a 17 old year old to be playing at that level. Surley got to start for the 21s now.

Steve Kean must stay if he is giving a Premier League debut to a 17 year old who has not played for our Under 21s yet. If this is part of his and Venkys plans then these people protesting need to get really. Blackburn had a great result today, looking forward to match of the day later. Rovers fans have been giving a very dignified person sub human abuse in order to get rid of their manager, I wish we still had our manager, yes put's it all into perspective. Steve Kean invited Gary Speed round on the Thursday before his tragic passing to have a look at Henley.
As I said the other day, for me it's either Mark Hughes, Walter Smith Marco Van Basten or, after watching more the man and not his football Tony Pullis.
Yes long ball Pullis, do you think he would play that way if he was managing the holy trinity, no, me niether. Wales dont do long throw ins, there is sport called rugby for that.

When I saw Hanley had got the winner at Old Trafford I nearly wet myself!...then I realised it was Grant Hanley, not our Henley. Still great news that they're kicking on if he's going to get games. At the start of the season I'd have happily seen them go down due to their lack of Welshmen.
