Hah, he mentions Meic Roberts's store...that's Llun Mewn Ffrâm in Penygroes, my mum practically lives in there, gets something framed for my son virtually every other week! Wonderful to hear of his (a Nantlle Vale lad) deep interest in his local history, I've always been fascinated with the quarries myself and have a family history tied to the Dinorwig ones. I love the Slate Museum in Llanberis, dripping with history and echoes from the past.

Apparently the americans like to think they invented the baseball cap, but it was actually worn in the slate mines & brought over to America by North Wales slate miners.

ICT obviously now playing in the Scottish Championship which is around League Two standard. Wasn't in the squad yesterday and his Twitter doesn't really state that he plays for them anymore so probably told he is free to leave.
Surely this means Maxwell has to be called up in place of him?

I think ICT were trying to offload him because he is one of the higher earners at the club. Havn't heard that he has signed for anyone though Could be Maxwell or Adam Davies in next squad

Not in the squad for the first time in a long time. Who'll be the squad bard now?

Just want to make the point that while the selection of Maxwell/Davies is welcome as they are the best goalies. I do support Cookie's decision to not call them up. The 3rd keeper is never going to get game time outside of friendlies. Cookie was probably looking to avoid another Myhill situation. I would totally understand Owain getting more call ups in the future and I'm grateful that he always turns up even though he will never play a competitive game.

I think those mocking him can go and do one, Fon Williams has been a loyal servant turning up squad after squad knowing he won't be playing.
Now is the correct time for a new keeper with him not playing and I doubt he will get another call up anytime soon, but anyone who knows anything about football knows that team spirit is a massive thing especially at a tournament. Therefore, Coleman was correct to keep on picking him as a good squad harmony far outweighs the benefits of the third keeper who sits in the stand

I think those mocking him can go and do one Who's mocking him precious? For these games there's a good chance OFW will be in the stands with the fans, he's one of us no doubt about it. Either that or he'll be pitchside, brush n palette in hand depicting another famous night for Welsh football on his easel.

He was an integral part of the team spirit, and his contribution artistically following the Euro's has been tremendous as well.

If we want to build on last summer and continually improve, then we need to be objective in our selections. Sentimentality is for losers and the vainglorious these days. Roll on the Adam Davies/Chris Maxwell battle.

Owain kicks off his American campaign tomorrow for Indy Eleven. They are in the division below the MLS. If you are that bored tomorrow night, you can watch the game live here www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d1qAlorwDo
