Saw him against Cardiff for the first time yesterday. Wasn't blown away. City had a fair bit of joy down his side but that wasn't just down to him to be fair. Good to see he's attracting interest.

Seen him play the other night, thought he was nothing special but I don,t watch him every game but the more players playing in the premiership the better.

Strange story seeing that Shaw will be out for six months, by the time the January transfer window comes around he will nearly be back.
This suggests that Shaw will be out for longer.

Not really, if Shaw is out for six months that is more like coming back mid to late March. United have Champions League commitments don't forget so need to rotate even if two players in each position are both fit. Looks like they were playing Valencia at LB yesterday suggesting they don't have much depth in that area.

He's obviously highly rated and it's nice to see Ben Davies get plenty of game time for Spurs this season too

If Utd sign Fox would he then be thinking he's too good for Wales and jump ship to Waynegland? I hope not.

I very much doubt Shaw will be back before April at the earliest - wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play again this season.

It's great but I'm a bit baffled by the fact that we have so many left backs and 0 strikers. What are the youth coaches telling these kids? 'Nah you don't wana be a striker! Strikers are a dying breed, in the future there will only be left backs'

Strikers are a dying breed, in the future there will only be left backs' I don't think the way we teach kids at the moment is geared towards producing strikers. The primary function of the grassroots revolution over the past decade (and a bit) has been to create players comfortable on the ball, able to stay calm, be aware and still produce good play when they're being denied space in congested areas...basically slow the game down a tad in the mind's eye and create space where there is none. Skills that are ideally suited for transitional play, not finishing play. When the kids reach maturity they usually get paired up with their best-suited positions dependent on their individual abilities, strengths and body shapes...up to now this usually means across the defence or midfield. It makes sense when you think about it, the first desperate need in Wales was to create players capable of playing a continental passing game (mostly midfielders) which we now have a glut of. Slowly we've expanded/evolved the teaching to incorporate more advanced defensive duties as well, which has seen a slow but steady increase of defenders to supplement our vast choice of midfielders. However thanks to modern coaching techniques the players we produce are athletic, fast, powerful specimens capable of linking play so tend to fit a bit better into the 'backs' roles than the 'central' ones. Will we now evolve our teaching further to begin producing more capable strikers as well? Who knows I suppose. However the point you made on another post regarding the number of strikers diminishing on the continent is a very good one. Football is changing with players capable of fulfilling multiple roles, perhaps we don't need a striker in future, rather simply hone the finishing skills of all our kids in general. Its an interesting topic to keep an eye on in future years!

Yeah, Germany have had a grass roots revolution and they don't really play any out and out strikers at the moment too. They had Götze (an attacking midfielder, really)up top vs Scotland. Still scored three goals.

I’m a Charlton fan so have watched Fox week in week out. He is certainly developing but doesn’t stand out as much as previous youngsters have (Jenkinson, Shelvey, Gomez) when they were promoted to the first team. Defensively he has improved a lot from last season. He has bulked out a bit and his positioning and awareness is better. For a modern day full back though he doesn’t have much pace and struggles going forward. He certainly has a very decent final ball in him but it’s nowhere near consistent enough.
He has actually become bit of a scapegoat from our boo boys who find it laughable that a Premiership club is after him. As previous posts have pointed out though our current formation and line up leave him terribly exposed. This is very detrimental to our results and, if he listens to the crowd, maybe his confidence but in the long term the added pressure and responsibility that is currently being placed on him will only help him learn and grow as a player.
Interesting to note that although Wiggins is older and more injury prone Fox kept him out of the squad to the point we sold Wiggins in the summer so those who work with him everyday must see something in him.

Morgan Fox started again for Sheff Wed. He’s been getting a good run of games under his belt recently.

Morgan Fox sent off. Thought he had a poor game and showed little desire toward the end.

I don't think Charlton or Sheffield Wednesday fans ever really rated him to be honest.

I was saying we need to look at him but It doesn't seem there's much point now. I read somewhere that Carvalhal bought him for SW as he has a 'big heart' or some such. He must have seen something that no one else does but I haven't seen enough of him to put my own two cents in.
