I reckon he'll end up retiring at Cardiff. I just can't see a way back to the PL for him at his age & with his injury record. Not Wrexham? We don't mind an injury prone plater.

One Swansea fan waving the butchers apron about doesn't make the club britnats. Thousands of Rangers fans waving the butchers apron singing GSTQ does. Massive difference. FFS they sing another countries national anthem that mentions crushing their own people. They are massive far right bellends. So why aren't you lot protesting about Ben Woodburn playing at Hearts who are the Protestant club of Edinburgh or Christian Doidge playing for Catholic Hibs and the Catholic support for the IRA. As I said earlier a whole lot of you know f-ck all about Scotland and how it works. Nice gaslighting, but you seem to be ignoring that I really don't like those pricks because they are far right and they represent everything that has suppressed and denigrated Wales. I don't have a problem with the IRA because they were defending their country from British attrocities. The British were the bad guys in that situation.

When you put it like that it's definitely the most likely thing that he isn't clued up enough to see the contradiction between being proud to be Welsh and proud to be British. Makes the most sense What gives you the right to judge his intellect just cause he may have different views from you ? Of course its not a contradiction being proudly British and Welsh at the same time. Seems to me that you and yours are the real bigots in this argument. How can you be proud of your country and be proud of a union that has shat on your very country and stole trillions of your nations natural wealth? That's the contradiction. You either look into your own countries history and what effects that has on your country in the present or you sit in ignorance pretending we aren't their colony.

I think many on here are overthinking this.
There’s a real possibility that Ramsey, like about 90% of our fan base, is just interested in football and his decision to go to Rangers has nothing to do with politics, religion, Brexit, who he votes for, British Nationalist stuff or whatever else everyone on here has presumed, guessed or second guessed.

Hearts are "plastic Huns" mate no comparison to Sevco Rangers, and Hibs support similarly not as full on as Celtic support.Lot of ignoratti on here saying shit like both old firm teams as bad as each other, that's truly showing an ignorance of Scottish football, only one of the teams had policy of not signing players based on their religion.I am biased watched Celtic home and away for years when I lived in Glasgow and won't dispute the sectarian element, but my section of the ground contained many non Catholics,I know from work colleagues who supported the Rangers that that was not so with their team."real world"? Smart people can be not clued up on specific subjects but be very clever when it comes to specialised subjects 2) Of course it's contradictory, one stands for the end of Welshness, the Welsh language, the human right of self rule for Wales as a distinct ethnic group. The other stands for preserving Welshness, growing the Welsh language, and increasing rights and power for Wales. They are completely antithetical 3) What have I said that's bigoted?

The other stands for preserving Welshness, growing the Welsh language, and increasing rights and power for Wales. They are completely antithetical 3) What have I said that's bigoted? It's very complex, and I certainly don't think a discussion about it on here will do justice to that complexity! I consider myself to be a nationalist, but there are different types of nationalisms. From the ugly, ethnic / supremacist nationalism most infamously espoused by Hitler, Franco, Mussolini and the like (and I would argue in British nationalism due to its roots in imperialism and empire) to the civic nationalism of the Welsh, Scottish, Catalans etc. who don't believe us to be any better or worse than any other nation, but equally deserve the same right of self-determination. Gandhi was a nationalist, and it has been nationalist movements that have led to the independence of what must be hundreds of states over the last century, particularly across Europe, and predominantly from the British state as it happens. With that in mind, it's important just to pick you up on a couple of those points. Firstly, it is incorrect to characterize Wales as a 'distinct ethnic group'. There is no such ethnic group. The question should be about identity and governance, not about ethnicity. Secondly, it is counter-productive and potentially slightly bigoted to infer that a person cannot justifiably and simultaneously take pride in their Welsh and British identity. Instead, we should make the point that independence would not prevent a shared identity across Britain - Scandinavia's the best example to bring up. They have a shared identity given their shared histories, but that doesn't prevent them from taking pride in their own national identity and implementing governance along those structures. I despise everything about the British state, from the history of empire and colonialism to the monarchy, treatment of minorities etc. But others will have valid reasons for feeling a sense of pride in Britishness and it is wrong and counterproductive for Welsh nationalists to question that. In a similar vain, someone referred to us as being a colonised country. Whilst there are historical truths in that, it doesn't accurately describe the Wales of today and is an insult to countries and ethnic groups who have genuinely been colonised. So again it is counterproductive for Welsh nationalists to say that sort of thing. Sorry, this is definitely not the place to go into all of this, but since the conversation's already taking place I wanted to offer my thoughts.

So again it is counterproductive for Welsh nationalists to say that sort of thing. Sorry, this is definitely not the place to go into all of this, but since the conversation's already taking place I wanted to offer my thoughts. 1) I agree and also consider myself a nationalist for the same reasons 2) That's not true. If you go to the wikipedia page for Welsh people right now I can guarantee you we will be described as an ethnic group native to the British isle. A lot of people misunderstand ethnicity to mean race/skin colour. Ethnicity is far more of a broad, all-encompassing term than that, and by modern definitions it encompasses culture and self-identification. So you can be a black person who is ethnically Welsh. Welsh, Irish, English, Scottish, Cornish, Manx, Breton, these are all separate ethnicities that anyone can identify with regardless of race 3) I haven't said people can't do it, and I'm aware that people do it and that it's a regular phenomenon across Wales. What I did say was that it's antithetical, and I believe saying you are proud of both is like saying I'm proud to be married to my wife, but I'm against the concept of marriage 4) I agree, and in an ideal world I don't think there would be a problem with this, and there is nothing wrong with a shared regional identity, I can't see us getting away from that completely. However, my issue is that Britishness is pushed as a national identity, not a regional identity. That is an issue because Britain isn't a country, and because it's a synonym for Englishness. When people abroad think of Britain they think of England. When we think of Scandinavia we don't think of e.g Swedishness exclusively 5) I think we are a colony until we are allowed at least 1 referendum on our independence/sovereignty. We were the first country colonised, and as a result of that we have been subjected to the most propaganda over the last 500 years, meaning large swathes of our population don't even think about the constitutional arrangement. It might not cause civil unrest doing things that way, but it's still colonialism. If we vote against independence at least it's our choice - but until now the Welsh people have never been given a choice, which for me makes us still a colony. I agree people should not equate us with the experience of other ethnic minorities, particularly BAME groups who have had it worse than Welsh people have. However, I don't think this means we aren't a colony Sorry to give such a long reply. Like you I don't necessarily want to get into a debate about it because it's not the right place for it, and hard to get into the nuance of it, but just wanted to make those points to clarify

To be fair there was crowd violence at that game based on religious chanting.

Yep, just a cameo but encouraging. One fantastic piece of skill to put someone in on goal and could even have got a goal. Not exactly a big fan of Rangers but evident that the players and supporters are delighted to have him there. He needs confidence a as well as minutes. Know there's been a lot of reasonable chat on here about he and Bale under pressure for their places with us but still think their presence is huge for us and influences the rest of the team. They still do things which are beyond the capability of our other players. Goal v Turkey? We won't have them for much longer but I for one am still happier when they start.
