Ramsey trending on twitter... because of praise from Arsenal fans!!!!! I didn't watch the game, but he must've played well. I watched it he ran the midfield great to see him on top form.

It's a pre-season friendly. The trophy doesn't mean shit. The games are abouit fitness, avoiding injuries and showing off new kits.

I want an Asian nickname too! Mr. Sarcastic? Apparently Rambo was excellent again today, and scored as the Arse beat Citeh 3-1. In Helsinki (of course)

Great assist to Walcott for the 1st goal and a good goal for the 2nd. I just hope he continues this form into the season, unlike the last 2 seasons.

By the end of this season those who don't think Ramsey is one of the best midfielders in Britain will be reduced to a small group of gibbering marginalised cretins who vote Ukip, subscribe to Piers Morgan on Twitter, and believe that the Anglo Saxons were England's original settlers.

Shame he ain't playing 2moro night though.
Think because he is playing well at the moment Wenger is reluctant to risk him especially as Arsenal haven't really signed any quality players especially in midfield which i reckon means Rambo is going to play quite a few games for them this season so doesn't want him injured before season.

MotM against Fenerbache last night and he really was the game controller. Without Arteta he has to be more disciplined with his forays forward but last night he was exemplary. When Arteta returns or Arsenal sign a new defensive midfielder Ramsey will have all the licence to play his natural game.
Shister cockney's are munching large portions today.
What is so pleasing for us, is that probably all of us, at some point, had thought that we had lost the potential of Ramsey with his injury. Hopefully it has made him stronger and it will result in an explosion of form in this and the next few seasons, of the like that Bale has delivered but in that crucial play-making role.
This confidence will surely transmit to, and through the national team, over the next few years (barring bad luck).

Yes, baresi. I think the game at Hampden showed just how crucial Ramsey is to our future. He was outstanding - red card aside - that night.

Agreed, and it was nice to see that both he and Collins made starts for their respective teams in the league last Saturday after deciding to give our game against Ireland a miss. The rest obviously did him good.

just goes to show how important wenger considers ramsey to his team. I am sure they came to a sensible agreement on this with the shit or bust game against fenerbache last night - it was fundamental to arsenal's future. ramsey is a proper welsh lad and will feature when it really matters. Collins.............? well that's a different matter.

Depends on how it goes on from here - fair enough he has not really pulled this stuff before and yes Collins is in a different league.
But on the flip side of that, a lot of our players have high profile careers that they probably don't want to risk injury in a friendly for. But if they all had that attitude we wouldn't even be able to fulfill our fixtures. Thankfully they don't and turned up- don't see why Ramsey is bigger than everyone else in that respect.

Arsenal are extremely light in midfield so Ramsey is guaranteed starts. They had the extra CL qualifying fixtures as well so one can appreciate why he didn't risk the Ireland fixture. Which is not to say we can like it

Which is not to say we can like it Ledley had the same excuse, especially in his case as he has been dropped from CL games before- yet he turned up. Like you say, can understand, don't have to like it though. I think it indicates that Ramsey is comfortable enough that he won't get dropped by Wales so can turn up when he likes, understandable but not a great attitude.

Remember last year when everyone was saying Bale didn't care about Wales? Remember how he's played every game since? And Ramsey has only not turned up to one friendly. Just saying.

There's an argument that his performances against Villa and Fenerbace vindicate his decision. The annoying thing from a Welsh perspective is that the two main talismen for Wales and Ireland - Ramsey and Bale; McGeady and Keane - were missing. If Ramsey had played we might have had the advantage in guile to make the most of the couple of threatening incursions we made into the final third. He'll be back for Macedonia though...won't he? His red card earned him just a one match ban didn't it?

Again, he has cost us there- if he had played against Croatia could have made a big difference for us.

If you were Wales manager storm would you drop Ramsey for his growing list of heinous sins? Certainly not while he's on form...but that's the thing- would he have missed the Ireland game if he had serious competition for his midfield place? Obviously he is an influential player for us so it gives him the comfort of being able to miss a friendly when he feels like that, but we should not be so accepting of that, even if it is one of our better players. Clubs and players treat international football like its the poor man's league cup. When we as fans start being grateful for players just turning up and excusing them giving games a miss then I think we help diminish the stature of international football in the game.

I should add on reflection that its quite possible that a private agreement was reached to rest Ramsey, when the official reason is that he is injured it does not look good to see him play the game before and the game after either side of an international mid week friendly.

Realistically, Ramsey doesn't have any competition in midfield for Wales. He's our best attacking midfield player apart from Bale, and has arguably been Arsenal's best player in competitive games so far this season. Lets not pretend that Andy King, Jonny Williams et al can hold a candle to him.

He's our second best player by a long way. (with Bellamy having not quite been 'at it' for Wales since Speeds death)

Bellamy hasn't been quite 'at it' recently because he's 33-34. Not many at that age are effective at international level in Europe

Two goals tonight. Not bad for a defensive midfielder.
Great supporting runs and finishes.
