Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger on Aaron Ramsey: "He's playing his best football, because he's improving every year. He's a youngster and he's getting better and better. Confidence [is the difference], it's as simple as that. [For the second goal] a year ago he would have controlled the ball or mis-controlled it but he works hard on his technique. Maybe he feels more comfortable because he feels people trust him."

ITV still managed to turn the 90 minutes into a Wilshere wank fest. It was sweet to see Ramsey eclipse him (yet again).

I don't think he is playing the best football he ever has. Just before the injury he was sensational.
I'm very happy to see him playing well after the last few frustrating seasons and I hope his form continues. I still think he has a lot to improve - he gives the ball away too much and his shooting compared to before is like night and day, his passing is also inconsistent. Its almost sad that he has become a deep lying midfielder because he used to be such a good attacking midfielder.

Yeah, it was hilarious watching the game last night observing the 'must praise Wilshire' imperative in action. Every time he lost the ball on a dribble he was 'injecting fluency and drive into the midfield' rather than being a reckless chickenhead, every time he over hit a pass he was 'seeing the right ball' rather that playing a shit ball.
This is part of the reason why English players tend to be more arrogant and full of self-importance than those from other countries in Britain.

I was surprised by Henry Winter's article on Ramsey. He seemed to be portraying him as limited compared to the likes of jack Wiltshire! I know Wiltshire is technically good but he has significant limitations - how many goals has he scored in his life? HE also does not have that impressive an assist record does he? Why is he seen as such a great attaching player. we all know how good ramsey can be - last night I understand as well as his goals, he had a 91% pass completipn rate and passed the ball 20 times more than any other midfielder. We could easily end up with the 2 best players in Britain! We know ramsey can score all types of goals . The article also highlighted limitations in his range of passing! I think the press are still talking about the old ramsey, not this year's new, improved, confident model!

Unless Wales is full devolved and then develops it's own media this will always be the case. We are, at best, irrelevant to the english media.

Unless Wales is full devolved and then develops it's own media this will always be the case. We are, at best, irrelevant to the english media. That's why pieces like that Louise Taylor one that mentioned Dummett recently are so frustrating. The guardian is supposed to be a UK wide paper- last time I checked you could buy it is Wales too. But she felt the need to emphasize that Dummett is 'still available to the three lions' as if that's the only thing that made the piece relevant or important...

Its quite amusing actually. watching them squirm. Another total cunt backtracking this week was Piers Morgan. We know that he has not reached his ceiling or anywhere near yet. the 25 yard screamers are next. then soon he should be able to tell Walcott to fuck off when there is a free kick just outside the box as well.

This is part of the reason why English players tend to be more arrogant and full of self-importance than those from other countries in Britain. Its also one of the main reasons England will never catch up with the rest of the footballing world with regards to player development, they have a basic inability to self-analyze. Its never that their players aren't good enough to get into Prem teams, its always because they never get a chance because of the foreign imports!

There we go, right on cue! Fucking typical. 100% guaranteed that he will play Arsenal's next game after the qualifiers.

Calm down. ramsey has recovered from a knock and will play against Spurs on Sunday. he will be available for Wales. In the current climate that means nothing. Remember how he was brought off in Arsenal's last pre-season friendly then missed Eire then was back for Arsenal's next game?

Two goals tonight. Not bad for a defensive midfielder. Great supporting runs and finishes. He's not a DM though is he? He's been deep lying and is prepared to put himself about a bit to break up attacks. But that doesn't make him a DM

Started as an attacking midfielder, has become more of a deep lying midfielder over time, albeit one who still scores plenty of goals (roughly 1 in 4 for Germany) Also Schweiny is unquestionably one of the best midfielders in the world. Rambo could reach that sort of status too.

Aaron Ramsey is the Arsenal Player of the Month! Arsenal fans voted in record numbers in our official August poll - and more than three quarters of them chose the Wales midfielder ---------- www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/ramsey-is-arsenal-player-of-the-month----------- And yet, hilariously, the English media still don't seem to see him as a first choice player for Arsenal! Anyways, I think we are going to see a confident Aaron Ramsey vs Macedonia tonight.

did they leave Wilshere off the list as he is reportedly as good as Cruyff, Pele, Maradona, Messi and Bale combined.
Arsenal fans are like all other football fans, fickle, these same fans who voted for him wanted him out at the beginning of the season.
Ramsey for me is going to be as important for Wales as Bale is and it is great to see him playing with confidence again, lets hope he scores tonight

Some dreadfully cliched bits in that blog but it at least cites evidence to support its main thesis. The comments are clearly from morons

I actually felt sorry for Ramsey last night.
Can't imagine how you could 'get up' for the Serbia game after that.
