First goal probably should have come for the cross for the first goal, could do nothing about the second. Three centre backs should be stopping that cross reaching a Turkish head though, again, poor. Good penalty save but his hands are like Play Do. The second goal went straight through his hands. Very very weak goalkeeping I don't rate Ward highly at all, but I can't agree with you there. It was very nearly a top drawer save and he did well to react and reach it all. It's very obvious from the replays that the ball took a signifcant change in direction after touching his hand, so there is no way you can claim that it went "straight through his hands". Had the whole things happened three or four inches to his right we'd be congratulating him on a sublime world-class save even though he wouldn't have done different, and the ball would still have left his hand at the same angle. Not stopping that header was not his fault (though not coming for the cross possibly was his fault - though he was quite good with crosses all night, despite what someone posted earlier about that.)

I think your opinion is harsh, it would have been a fantastic save if he'd kept it out. I thought he had a good game overall. Most keepers have a good game IF they keep the ball out….unfortunately 6 goals in 2 games tells us Ward is at best a very very average keeper

Haha your not surely putting Danny Ward and world class in the same sentence ? He’s had a mare 12 months and the ball has gone virually through his hands. A better keeper would have saved it.

Same to an extent for Rodon, Mepham, Moore etc etc

He's very nearly pulled off a top class save, anyone can see that I'm not saying he's world class, but that certainly wasn't weak goalkeeping

Fair play, great penalty save but could he have kept the first goal out with stronger hands/wrists (I think a top class goalie might have saved it). No chance with the second, but as on Friday looks a bit leaden footed at times to me.

It was a sentence stating that Ward is not world class. In order to do that you need to put the words in the same sentence. Your posts are really really hard to follow, to the point of not making much sense at all.

They've just signed a promising Danish keeper from Brondby who was their player of the year.
Danny could well be third choice

We all knew that the mess that we now find ourselves in was coming, it just seems to have been fast tracked by the decline of our two main guys seemingly simultaneously. I don't know what we're going to do, we don't score enough goals to make up for the errors we make, unless someone emerges we are in serious trouble.

Surely he has to leave Leicester this summer? I'd be surprised if they want to keep a third choice keeper on presumably decent wages

I agree - he must move on. He's not too bad a keeper, and some club at a decent level will be glad to have him.

Promising start to his career, has spent far too long sitting on the bench, which has stunted his growth as a keeper. Where to next, more seat warming?

Stunted his growth? Or was his ceiling just not that high?

He needs to join a Championship club where he will be first choice. If he does this he will be a fine option moving forwards, although looks like he will never be as good as Hennessey was
We need to consider other options like Owen Evans who is getting regular game time in the football league. If he moves up a couple of levels he will be a decent option. However, overall our depth at GK isn't looking good. We really need to encourage our youngsters to get senior minutes as much as possible as young players

Maybe it's because I've had a long day at work and I'm listening to Radiohead but this goalkeeper situation is so bleak, I've lost a lot of hope and optimism for the future of Welsh football, the last two games hit hard. The image of Danny Ward's sad and despondent face after the third England goal went in is something I think about on a regular basis more than half a year on. Most of us had waited our whole lives for this, I can remember Paul Jones almost crying after the Russia game and my dad, who didn't even like football, said "turn it off". Ten years after Romania I thought that was it and that's how I'm feeling now. We're really ballsing this up and I feel that Danny Ward is wrongly being made a scapegoat for it, it's not his fault, he did all he could against Turkey but if you continually let a second rate side come at you they will grow in confidence and start to try things and that's what happened. Page has to go, his sides don't answer questions and don't ask anywhere near enough.

Page will hang on until we fail in this campaign.
Unless we get beaten by Latvia or Armenia again by a hatful of goals then he will hang on until our play offs and rubber seal our failure.
I don't blame him - he has a family to support - but why oh why did we have to end up with some so limited in the job?
Giggs is a terrible human being but I would swap him in the blink of an eye. He is such a selfish person - he would have no qualms in dropping someone to ensure the best chance of a result - none of this extreme loyalty bullshit. He also seems to have far more football intelligence than Page and he ripped up the team and trusted kids leaving himself vulnerable to failure early in his reign which was a brave thing to do. He also totally changed our style of play by bringing in Moore in an attempt to qualify for Euros 2021 and it worked.
Maybe he was lucky and is actually limited. However, he may be half decent, whereas we now know that Page really is a second division level manager or worse.
So depressing being stuck with someone you 95% know will fail. I hope he makes me and many others look an idiot but those performances versus Armenia and Turkey seemed to confirm everything we had been worried about for sometime about him.

We could get away with being fun and a family atmosphere when we had one of the best players in the world to get us out of jail. Now I think we need more ruthlessness. I think the majority of the team sums up our issues. Happy to be in squads than pushing for a start. Happy to play a role in the Wales team than needing to be the main man. I know Bale was happy to sit things out for Madrid but really he was showing a lot of fight. Every Wales match he grabbed the headlines to shove it back at Real Madrid who hated him. He even made Tottenham work in the end. Thats the strength of character we are desperate for.

It seems Danny Ward is now 4th choice at Leicester, with neither him nor Iversen making the bench for the game today. Hope he has a transfer lined up because if not he won't be playing any club football this season, not even in the cups.

Can't see ward being much in demand,at the top level atleast, hard to be good at something when you don't raelly do it competitively and your career is one long training match.

On loan for the season and then maybe next season sign for them with Leicester agreeing to still pay a percentage of his wages to make the move possible as they must surely want him off the payroll.

Rumours that Cardiff are interested in taking him on loan in January. Not sure how true it might be, but it sort of makes sense as the goalkeeping situation seems quite ‘fluid’ there.
