Otherwise he’s gonna be rotting on the bench till next season If he wanted game-time, he’d have left the club several seasons ago. Appreciate he’s probably maximising his earnings right now by staying put at Leicester, but what a waste of a playing career. Really disappointing given the amount of potential he had. Like a GK coach on a player’s wage.

A real problem our 'No 1' position. No one raising their gloves at the moment to be noticed, a worrying weak point going forward.

Can't blame him for not wanting a move, but has no doubt ruined an promising playing career. That's £2,080,000.00 a year and it could be his last big payday, so he'll probably be thinking about that between now and 2025 as he builds up his nest egg, and plans for a future outside of football. As you say, who can blame him? He's got a young family, and unless another club can equal or better his current contract, I think he will be staying where he is. Danny Ward getting stick on twitter(X). Apparently too chatty with Szczęsny, overweight and not focused. My view is the Polish penalties were very good.

If Danny was too chatty with Szczesny, presumably they think the latter was too chatty with Danny too! Didn't stop the Pole making that all important save though. In reality, what happened is that there were nine penalties taken that neither goalie came close to saving - but the tenth was hit at a savable height, without great power and too close to goalie, who happened to dive the right way. In the same circumstances, I suspect Danny would also have made that save but he never got the chance. That's penalty shoot-outs for you.

With Wrexham looking good for promotion and their GK Okonkwo’s loan being up at the end of the season, coupled with Ward’s need for first team football and his history with Wrexham… would a loan move make sense perhaps? He’d pretty much be perfect for them I think.

Needs to be playing. Can't see him moving as I imagine Leicester not in a position to buy other players particularly putting any focus on getting a third choice keeper in. Looks as though they'll sell Iversen instead.
No one coming out from the woods. Keepers worth keeping an eye on this summer if they can get moves are Eddie Beach, Lewys Benjamin, Dan Barden, Adam Davies (released), Callum Burton (released) and Owen Evans (released)
I think any keeper that can play within EFL or equivalent levels abroad should be called up.

No one reliable to call on in goal, and for the most part nobody playing league games. There's no choice at the moment, Ward has ruined his playing/not playing career by taking the money (his choice) and bench warming. Can't see Wayne involved again unless we're really desperate (which we are) or he starts playing somewhere. The others are makeweights just not up to the job.

I would have thought that Leicester will be desperate to move him on, if only on loan, with them paying part of his wages. With him not even making the bench in the Championship he has zero chance of playing next season for Leicester in the PL. Only one season left on his contract so Ward will be keen to prove he's still got it, to put himself in the shop window for a year's time. He's still only 30.
I bet he'll be playing next season at Championship or League One level. He's definitely a lot better goalie than he showed yesterday.

Never ever feel confident with him between the sticks, sorry. Given a choice of non-playing keepers to select as no 1, I would choose Hennessey every single time. This position is a problem for us.

Ward lacks in self confidence and belief to be a number 1, you can't change that in a keeper.

Thing is at the moment he's the least worst keeper to have a in goal. There is no one pushing for that spotted we can't blame page for that.

I've long advocated to call up either him, Eddie Beach (when he was on loan at Gateshead) or Connor Roberts of TNS, as they were the highest ranked professional goalkeepers we had playing regular first team football. Its a sorry situation when your entire GK department is late 20's/30's bench warmers with no prospect of playing. Losing at least one spot (Tom King or Davies I'd have thought) to one of the above would have been a not so subtle prod.

Page has painted himself into a corner with the GK position really. He said players need to be playing regularly, but none of our 4 established keepers did yet he still called them all up. By doing that he's set the precedent and now he can't really drop one without dropping all of them (not that I'd be against dropping them all, but I suppose calling up three uncapped lower league keepers all at once isn't realistic). Yet another reason why we need someone new to come in and be ruthless and say you're not getting called up if you're not playing club football.
The keepers have all been a disgrace really (with the exception of Hennessey whos's approaching retirement and can do what he wants) and don't deserve to be called up. Ward and King haven't played a single club match in well over a year, and Davies played one match, in the EFL cup, all season. It's an absolute joke that they're all still getting called up.

Which keeper do you have in mind? Was it Chris Maxwell with just the 8 Championship starts who was playing most regularly last season? Welsh football seems to be struggling to produce a center forward (although this is not just us) and certainly has, potentially some under 21s of interest, struggle to produce a goalie lately too.

Appreciate him showing up for the camps for years but I'd drop King now. Not really sure how he got near the squad in the first place but he's league 2 quality at best and essentially retired by taking over the "Scott Carson" role at Wolves. If Sheppard or Beach find themselves at clubs before September then one of them should be called up just to send a message to the others.

The highest regularly playing keepers we have. If we have to go to League Two or the Cymru Prem to find them then so be it. It sends a message to the three regulars (I'm discounting Hennessey again) that if they want to get called up they have to force a move and play, even if that means dropping down a level.

Here's hoping he gets a move for regular football

Yet another Welsh player coasting on “easy street” His career hurtling backwards at a rate of knots but nailed on for this Welsh team.
Shocking management.
