It'll be amazing to see that money has been taken, even if it's one lump sum and I don't know exactly what tickets I got. Just knowing I have at least one game would be great.

I got this from Barclaycard - 'In reply to your enquiry, I must take this opportunity to inform you that we do not add flags to the account ahead of a transaction. In the unlikely event that you encounter problems with it being authorised, we will contact you. I understand your concern about the transaction which you will be making with UEFA in future. As per your intimation we have placed an indicator in your account so that the relevant department is aware of your intention regarding this transaction.' Doesn't really clear things up at all! Have they or haven't they put a note on my account?! Seems a bit illogical that UEFA cancel your application immediately once you're awarded tickets but have your payment declined.. surely a day or two leeway would mean that anyone whose payment is rejected would have a chance to clear things up with the bank, whilst still preventing fraud if they were unable to validate the payment within 48 hours or whatever. I know that's just how it is, and there's probably a reason for it which goes beyond my understanding of things, but still, seems a cruel way to potentially miss out on tickets. Grateful to you for this. Naively, I was reassured by: help.barclaycard.co.uk/brochure/spending_transactions/going-on-holidayI will request a flag on my account too.

Well, I am not sure how that went? He made a note on the system. It is fortunate that I asked for him to confirm "UEFA" as had written down "UFO".
Slightly more assuring was that large transactions are generally considered to be £1k plus.
It is possible, however, that we would get a call from 0800 318 665. I have added a mobile number to the account. The default is for calls to be made to landlines.
Part of me thinks that making the call has made it more risky. This Euros is quite stressful!

I work for a credit card provider, they can't place an override for a future transaction, it's too risky. Fraud strategies apply as normal, all credit card providers are different and may not necessarily be for a large amount or an unusual transaction

Halifax has an online facility for advising of overseas transactions... I put in that I was in France for the whole of February.... just hoping that it doesn't flag and cancel me for spending in Wales now!!! UEFAS administration offices are in Switzerland!

It says that the payment is being taken from Paris though. "Your credit card will be debited from UEFA - EURO 2016 – Avenue Kleber 112 – 75773 - Paris Cedex 16 – 1260. Not enjoying this nervous wait at all..Checking Credit Card, Checking on here.... You speak for me and probably many others. I keep wanting to see someone post on this thread that their card has had money taken off it by UEFA. I am checking my credit card twice a day at the moment.

I was under the impression we would receive an email a few days prior to any payments being taken from our credit cards?

jamesc89, my view is that this has already happened.
On the 20th January, UEFA said in an email:

My view is that the 27th January email has complied with their previous assurance to give a heads up on them taking money from our Credit Cards.

Email as follows:
Dear Football Fan,
Thank you once again for applying for tickets to UEFA EURO 2016™!
From the beginning of next week, we plan to start taking payments from applicants with successful ticket applications.
Please note that this email is not an indication of the status of your application. It is possible that you will be allocated all, some or none of the tickets that you applied for. You will be notified of the result of your application once the payment process is over.
If you are a successful applicant, your credit card will be charged automatically.
Please note that in case of a payment failure, your application will be cancelled.
You are therefore kindly requested to check with your bank that there are sufficient funds on your credit card, or to raise the credit limit per transaction accordingly.
Please remember that if you have agreed to accept tickets in other categories, this may increase the total amount to be paid for your tickets.
You may also wish to inform your bank of the anticipated international transaction. The following payment information will appear on your bank statement:
UEFA - EURO 2016 - Avenue Kleber 112 – 75773 - Paris Cedex 16 – 1260 Merchant ID: 101301204
Best regards,
UEFA EURO 2016™ Ticketing Team

Sorry for the above, just received the email. "You will be notified of the result of your application once the payment process is over" So they could take money and you not being successful? Surely not?

Very unlikely, think the 'result' refers to exactly what tickets you have been charged for. Which games and categories etc.
