The FAW have sent the ticket application information back to UEFA and they said they will start processing the national associations fan bookings tomorrow. This doesn't mean that ours will be done tomorrow as such, they may not get round to starting ours for a few days or so. They will not take money out of your account if you are unsuccessful but money will start coming out in February ...the exact dates will be different for everyone dependant on when they process your application...people saying they have already had money taken out for ticket purchase is strange due to the process starting tomorrow but I am not saying they are making it up there could be exceptions to the rule....good luck everyone...this information relates to ticket applications by members out of the FAW association allocation applied for by January 18 th 2016

Thanks Corky, Have FAW indicated what percentage of the 52,000 applied for group stage? Also, are you aware that according to the English fans' forum, each FA only gets 3000 allocated for round of 16? Good luck everyone!

That is all I know at the moment other than the greatest demand for tickets was in cat 4 and Cat 3 and the majority of fans have opted mostly for group stage tickets so if it's only 3,000 for round of 16 the number who have applied will be less than applied for the group stages

Cheers Corky.
If I'm reading that right, the successful applicants might see the money going out of their credit card accounts before they get an email (circa. 14th Feb) confirming that they have been successful?
Any idea in what order UEFA might process it the applications? By surname? By FAW point system?

Not got that sort of detail but everyone should get an e mail successful or unsuccessful they would have to inform fans which particular tickets they have actually been successful in getting but I don't know which order that would be in

Less concerned now with being allocated a ticket than my credit card being rejected for some spurious reason

Less concerned now with being allocated a ticket than my credit card being rejected for some spurious reason I phoned my bank and made them aware of the (hopefully) upcoming international payment to which they said they will add a note to my account and "that should go through". Not totally reassuring.

Halifax has an online facility for advising of overseas transactions... I put in that I was in France for the whole of February.... just hoping that it doesn't flag and cancel me for spending in Wales now!!!

There'll be hundreds of thousands of these transactions going through the credit card companies in the next few days, they'll be very well aware of it. They would deem them as low risk in so much as they know the goods wont be despatched for some months allowing fraudulent use to come to light.
The areas of likely problem
1. You've incorrectly filled in the details.
2. You have insufficient credit available - more likely if your tickets are upgraded
3. Your card is compromised elsewhere in the next day or so. If you get the call telling you there's a "Western Union" money transfer being attempted on your card, you'll have to stop it and you'll be knackered. It happened to me twice on my business credit card last year.

think i'll get on to them tonight and try and have a word
dont use it much, not sure if that will make it more likely to flag something up

I wouldn't bother. UEFA will be regarded as a safe merchant and the circumstance leaves the credit card companies pretty protected in this case.

Just did the same Think EP's advice is solid, but I use my Halifax Clarity Mastercard about twice a year. Its great for non-sterling transactions, as there are no fees at all - but my Barclaycard gives me 1% cashback in the UK. Still, if anyone is intending to use their cards while in France, the card above is really worth having

I got this from Barclaycard - 'In reply to your enquiry, I must take this opportunity to inform you that we do not add flags to the account ahead of a transaction. In the unlikely event that you encounter problems with it being authorised, we will contact you. I understand your concern about the transaction which you will be making with UEFA in future. As per your intimation we have placed an indicator in your account so that the relevant department is aware of your intention regarding this transaction.'
Doesn't really clear things up at all! Have they or haven't they put a note on my account?! Seems a bit illogical that UEFA cancel your application immediately once you're awarded tickets but have your payment declined.. surely a day or two leeway would mean that anyone whose payment is rejected would have a chance to clear things up with the bank, whilst still preventing fraud if they were unable to validate the payment within 48 hours or whatever. I know that's just how it is, and there's probably a reason for it which goes beyond my understanding of things, but still, seems a cruel way to potentially miss out on tickets.

When I spoke to Natwest they basically said the same I have booked my accommodation in Feance using the same credit card and that worked fine so I'm hoping all will be ok

Can't wait for my money to be taken! Worst of it is is that credit card transactions don't show up on online banking until a couple of days later so I/we won't know the same day.

Bit annoying that they have all these systems in place to flag up any suspicious transactions, which of course is extremely handy, but that they can't put a note on a particular transaction to make sure that one goes through, even when you give them its details!
I've already checked online banking and my application on the UEFA website three times today! Not much work is getting done until I know either way!
