I don't think he'll be sold- He's played aroung 100 minutes altogether since a 14 month injury lay off, he needs time to re-establish himself. Plus, WHU will almost certainly sell Scott Parker now, and probably Mark Noble and 1 or 2 other midfielders. And they'll be leen to have a team next season based around their young players who are on significantly lower wages (Collison, Tomkins etc) Plus, a season in the championship wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for Collisons development.
What happens to Danny Gabbidon now though? I think he's out of contract and is rumoured to have been earning 50k per week. There's no way West Ham or anyone else will offer him a contract that's anywhere near that now.

i dont think collison is proven at premier league level yet,he started well..went off the boil...sat on the bench for a while..got injured im not sure wether he will move back into the premiership this summer, after a long lay off i think any interested club might just see how he develops for now and maybe make a move in the jan transfer window? no doubt celtic will be looking at him

Christ, Celtic will be on him like herpes, you're right. Thing is, as others say WHU will want most of all to keep players like him for their talent/wages ratio. And Celtic wont be able to offer wages higher than WHU can with their parachute payments. And hopefully he will see sense and see that Ledley went to Celtic to play in Europe and win trophies. One season later, and all he's done neither (Scottish cup final pending, big deal).
I think the 'back in the Prem in Jan' is most likely, presuming he has a good, injury free six months.

I think it all depends on who is the next w/ham manager; if it's someone who can make a Project, I'd imagine he'd be best off staying there for a season.

Collison needs games. He's played less than 50 first team games, with only 37 starts. starting the season in the Championship won't be a huge problem. He'd be well-placed, having hopefully proved his fitness, for a move in the January transfer window

Collison isn't proven at any level, but I suspect he will be soon.
Hasn't done anything for Wales yet to be honest but has made impact with WHU but only over a short time.

A post about Collison and nobody's mentioned he hasn't yet been capped in a competitive game for us yet! thats all I used to mention on here back before he got injured or it was on dragonsoccer forums. I have always raised an eyebrow over the fact he still hasnt been capped in a competitive game, dodgy

The lad's been out for well over a year with a serious knee injury. I think he'd be better served by re-establishing himself with WHU in the championship playing alongside Kevin Nolan and under a decent manager in fat Sam.

At the moment I don't care who he plays for as long as Speed caps him in a competitive game.

Good point. Let's get him capped in the Montenegro game (I'm sure he will be anyway) so he can't switch to England later.

Yeah think a move to club like West Brom would be great for Collison. If he went to Liverpool he's not gonna play much and staying with West Ham could see him turn into a Gunter type figure so lets hope it happens

West Brom? Nah, I'd rather he didn't turn into a sideways/backwards passing automaton. Not a good Project to be involved with.

Nah trendy your wrong there they play quite attractive football would help his development staying in the prem

he should set his standard a little higher than west brom, there's no rush with him and moving to a club that will struggle to stay up next season wont do much for his confidence

Nah trendy your wrong there they play quite attractive football would help his development staying in the prem Nah, don't believe the hype. They play turgid defensive football - just like Fulham did when hodgson was there. Pointless move for Colison, can't see it myself.

I'd imagine all this talk is being engineered by his agent, because there would be money in a move, but it really doesn't feel like the right time for him to go. He's only 22, already at a massive club and has only played a handful of games following 14 months out with a serious knee injury. I hope he stays put and learns from playing alongside Kevin Nolan. Nolan will probably be the best player in the championship next season.

again...talk of the agent doing this and that...the agent works for the player..not the other way
the agent is becoming a very convinient excuse for players who are trying to engineer a move for themselves

Christ almighty! There always seems to be something before full competetive games. His full debut was nearly three years ago! I doubt there's ever been a longer gap between a player playing a friendly and a competitive game for his country. If he ever does play a competetive game for us....

Stomach bug FFS ! there's so many remedies these days it should be no problem. Does Jack really want to commit himself to Wales? Gary Speed should have a "quiet" word with him and stick him on the bench, bug or no bug and then make sure he comes on with 45 seconds left!
