My entire transport costs are coming to just over £ 240 although I've had to estimate a couple of trains that I cant book yet
Euro star to Paris £ 58 TGV Paris to Bordeaux £ 30 TGV Bordeaux to Paris £ 30 estimate scnf paris - Lens - Paris £ 30 estimate TGV Paris - Toulouse £ 30 estimate Ryanair Carsaconne - Stansted £ 62 inc hold luggage
I know I'll have to be on the ball with booking the trains when they become available.
Taxi to St Pancras FOR 6 AM on the 11th will add £ 30 or so quid to the total. Clearly the knock out stages are going cost a fair bit cause you'll have little notice of where and when you want to go.

I messaged the youth hostel earlier and they told me they were full? I am sorry to hear that, Rhys. Their availability is not indicated on the International Hosteling website. For a quiet option:There is a youth hostel with availability in Brive La Gaillarde - 200km or 2hr 15mins away by train. No doubles, only shared 6-bed rooms for €16pppn - www.hihostels.com/hostels/brive/prices#hostel-tabsFor a party option:Biarritz is also only 200km and 1hr 52mins by train away. The youth hostel there has beds in in doubles and 4-bed rooms for €26pppn Of course, Paris is 3hr 15mins away by TGV (from €30) and there is plenty of rooms double there for €60 (or shared rooms for €28pppn). I will have a look tomorrow again for further options

If anyone is struggling with flights etc. My brother and I are travelling to Bordeaux for £75 with easy jet with a slight detour. There are flights to Barcelona from Bristol for around £50 and then Barcelona to Bordeaux for around £25. As direct flights into France seem to pretty expensive for obvious reasons.

Just read in the Lonely Planet guidebook that the 2nd Sunday of every month is a fully pedestrianised day all across Bordeaux.
Bordeaux is already very heavily pedestrianised, but Sunday 12 June, the day after our victory v. Slovakia there will be even more space for the masses of Welshmen to have a song and dance If you still have energy on Saturday night, Rock School is one of the busiest clubs in town, and its two doors away from the youth hostel! They usually open their doors between 8 to 9pm for their concerts, but on 11 June its a 2pm start - so perhaps screening the game? www.rockschool-barbey.com/concert/spectacle-de-la-rockschool

I messaged the youth hostel earlier and they told me they were full? Hi Rhys, Here are some options for you - all have availability today, but please book fast ;-) Hotel Notre Dam is recommended by Lonely Planet €62 budget double or €72 lux double - available Weds through to Monday Hôtel Choiseul is very basic, but central. Budget double is €58 and ensuite double is €66 - available Hotel Stars Bordeaux Sud - has doubles at €18.50 on Thurs night and €32.50 on Friday night. Nothing for Saturday, unfortunately... but you might be able to join forces with the existing Welsh contingent at the hotel THIS place has an apartment at €65/night plus €10 extra per person - its central, but you will need to contact them to find out their availability. Finally, if all else fails, IBIS Centra Gare near the station has room for about €90 per night... GOOD LUCK!

Some very useful information on the Bordeaux University web-site - here is a 'copy and paste job: Lines A, B and C operate throughout the week from 5.00am to 00.30am (1.15am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays). Trams pass every 10 minutes on average. For more information, please consult the TBC website or go to a ticket office if you would like to obtain a travel card. Prices: TBC tickets: 1,50€ - gives unlimited transfer for one hour (start final leg/journey by 59 mins) evening pass for 2€ - Unlimited access from 19h to 5h. 5 journey ticket: 6.70€ - all valid for one hour each 10 journey ticket: 12,40€ 1 day pass - 4.60€ 7 day pass - 12.40€ Monthly pass: between 17€ and 33€ TBC websiteBordeaux-Mérignac Airport is about 30 minutes from the city centre. To get there, you can use public transport: TBC line 1 - costs €1.50 from 4h45 to 00h40 (to 01h20 Thurs/Fri/Sat) RIVER BOAT The TBC has also installed a new, original type of river transport service; the BatCUB, which allows passengers to cross Bordeaux via the Garonne river, while STILL USING REGULAR 1-hour transfer on regular TBC ticket! This one looks useful for the Fan Zone... Batcub website

Depending which days you want you can book Bordeaux-Paris and Paris-Toulouse now. Just make sure you click the "Other EU country" option rather than the "UK" one on the SNCF page. I paid €30 for Bordeaux-Paris on 14 June and €50 for Paris-Toulouse on 18 June. I think the Bordeaux-Paris and Paris-Lens-Paris legs are going to be more expensive than you're estimating above.

If you dont mind waiting until the end of March for bus bookings, this company has Bordeaux-Paris and Paris-Toulouse for €19. They have 3 departures a day (7 hour journey time), including an over-nighter dept midnight and arrives at 7am. Bordeaux-Toulouse is €9 and there are 3 departures a day. 3 hours journey time. Can only book up to 10 weeks ahead. www.flixbus.com/ EDIT: it looks like EuroLines offers the same buses and same fares, but seems to have a slightly longer booking window (11 weeks?). Might be worth checking both sites! www.eurolines.fr/en/special-offers/coach-travel-bordeaux-paris/

Cheers for that. Just managed to book Bordeaux to Paris midday wed for 35 euro. Travelling to Bordeaux on the Friday but the trains I would prefer to take aren't showing yet. Of course they could be dearer than the estimate but the overall cost seems very reasonable.

For Lens Train Best but two going up at moment are full price 41 quid one way Coming back are three trains and are cheaper
My advice would be book coming back now before prices rise more and wait for the one other trian going up at 0743 arr 09:02 to get cheaper price as soon as this goes on sale in MArch
Coming back you will only find cheaper with normal trains with a change in arras theyre will be no more direct trains to paris

We are flying into Paris from Bordeaux on match day and have to fly back the same night at 9.30pm. I researched every way to get to Lens & back and the only way was private transfer or car hire and even then it's tight. We went for private hire with a driver taking 8 of us there and back and it cost €700.
