Booked national express from Cardiff to London Gatwick 08/06 return 23/06 £112 so that's the coach booked
Flight to Toulouse ezy533 departing 18.40 return 23/06 07.05 flight So that's £211.60 2 people return
trains from Toulouse to Bourdeaux look reasonably priced around £31
I plan on staying at Camp Bordeaux from the 9th to 22nd
Excellent posts from the people above thank you so much it's been really helpful. Thank you
I'm no expert and will probably get lost somewhere at some point
09/03/2016 To add to my post above - My wife has pulled out of the tour to watch Wales in all 3 games so this leaves me with 1 ticket cat 3 for each game spare along with coach, flight + bag, camp Bordeaux place (campingninja.com), two hotels (double bedroom) which I will try to change. I NEED A PARTNER WILLING TO SHARE THE COSTS - all the above is pre-paid. not only will you need these dates but around £1,300 any money leftover will be used for travel, food, beer. NO PROFIT happy to take non refundable deposit of £500 this month & balance next month - in return I will need proof of address & Passport.

does anyone have any info about Tram C. We are staying in Toulouse and travelling to Bordeaux for the game on the match day (and hopefully back) According to the Bordeaux Tram site there are 4 trams running between 8-9pm that would get us back into St Jean before 9.47pm (last train to toulouse). Are there likely to be more than the original timetabled trams running?
Any info gathered would be great
Cheers

Christ does a return coach from Cardiff to Gatwick cost £ 112. My entire transport costs are coming to just over £ 240 although I've had to estimate a couple of trains that I cant book yet
Euro star to Paris £ 58 TGV Paris to Bordeaux £ 30 TGV Bordeaux to Paris £ 30 estimate scnf paris - Lens - Paris £ 30 estimate TGV Paris - Toulouse £ 30 estimate Ryanair Carsaconne - Stansted £ 62 inc hold luggage
I know I'll have to be on the ball with booking the trains when they become available.
Taxi to St Pancras FOR 6 AM on the 11th will add £ 30 or so quid to the total. Clearly the knock out stages are going cost a fair bit cause you'll have little notice of where and when you want to go.
Depending which days you want you can book Bordeaux-Paris and Paris-Toulouse now. Just make sure you click the "Other EU country" option rather than the "UK" one on the SNCF page. I paid €30 for Bordeaux-Paris on 14 June and €50 for Paris-Toulouse on 18 June. I think the Bordeaux-Paris and Paris-Lens-Paris legs are going to be more expensive than you're estimating above. All now booked
Eurostar £ 58 Paris - Bordeaux £ 30 Bordeaux - Paris £ 27 Paris - Lens - Paris £ 36 Paris - Toulouse £ 11.50 Flight home £ 62 Total £ 225 Still need to book train Toulouse - Carcassonne which is 11euro.
Pretty reasonable by any standards. Only down side cant be there be in Bordeaux for the Friday party.

Thanks for this, yeah we are hopeful to get these, my only concern was as its a 42,000 seater in a retail zone, probably 90% will be heading back to the centre. Was just concerned that we may have difficulty getting on a tram in time to make the last train.

I'd say, as we are surely going to be 3-0 ahead by 7.30pm, leave early and catch the 7.43pm tram ;-) Seriously, I am quite confident that there should be plenty of added options. If all else fails, the taxi night-fare (after 7pm) should be 43€ . 12km and 26 minutes ... www.taxifarefinder.com/main.php?city=Bordeaux-France

Just heard from CantonWelsh79 that the Youth Hostel in Bordeaux still has spaces! Its €24pppn, they have a few doubles for 48€, but mostly its 4-bed rooms. You can just pay for one bed, of course. Breakfast is a very relaxed 0630-10.30am! Its about 400m north-west of the main railway station and 100m from the metro. Its generally about 1km south of the night-life bars and old town.
In the historic Saint Jean district in downtown Bordeaux, this laid-back hostel is a 10-minute walk from the Gare de Bordeaux Saint-Jean and 1 km from the medieval Basilique Saint-Michael de Bordeaux (basilica).
A casual cafe serves complimentary breakfast; lunch and dinner are also available. Secure lockers and storage for luggage and bikes is provided at the reception. Other amenities include a common kitchen, a computer lounge and FREE Wi-Fi. Trip Advisor says that they also have FREE on-street car parking - but you might want to confirm this. Address: 22 Cours Barbey, 33800 Bordeaux, France.
This is their email: resa@bxaj.eu - their names are Anaïs and Nolwënn - so if you address it to them, you might get more favourable attention!
For your information: The price is 24€ per person per night, including breakfast and bed-linen. Payment will be made upon arrival by bank card or cash.

Thanks manulike I had seen that but have just read over it again... I think we're strongly being dissuaded from parking although as far as I can see it doesn't say one way or the other whether the 8500 spaces at the ground will be open or not. I'm driving in on the day from about 1.5 hours from the North, will have to put the car somewhere, whether at the stadium or at a tram stop!

Just noticed a decent flight out, even at this late stage, the cheapest option for Match Day itself is FLYBE from Birmingham International to Bordeaux
Depart from BHX at mid-day 12 noon arrive to BOR at 2.45pm local time.
You should be able to make it downtown by 4pm, leave your bags at the hotel and be in the stadium by 5ish (ko is 6pm local time)...
PRICE is £87
Thereafter, look at Ryan Air from BOR to Brussels-Charleroi for about €30. Bus Charleroi Airport to Lille for €5 etc.

I'm in the same boat, travelling in from north of the city but although it states that there is a lot of parking room around the stadium, there is some doubt if it will be open for our game.

Hi kinky /sleepy Have a look at the below which is a map of the trains stations in Aquitane, you could look drive to one of the stations north of Bordeaux and catch the train in. It may assist re parking. I was looking at staying at a campsite near St Emilion for a few days before moving on to Toulouse, but I am now probably going direct to Toulouse as we can't travel until the 14th. I believe the station in St Emilion has parking close by. www.aquitaine.fr/content/download/4689/47556/file/Guide_Voyageurs_V6.pdf

It stated somewhere in one of the UEFA e-mails that there will be no car parking at any of the grounds on match day. We are about 45 minutes north east of Bordeaux, perhaps you can pick us up than I can have a beer!!!! Seriously though we are going to use the park and ride.

If anyone still needs a CHEAP entry flight to Bordeaux ON match-day, then BARCELONA is a great option. Ryan Air do Liverpool to Barcelona for £40 on the Saturday morning and connect with www.vueling.com flight from Barcelona to Bordeaux at 1.30pm arrive BOR at 2.40pm for 85€ Similar combination with Ryan Air from Manchester for £65 and Stansted (£69) etc
