In the end, I emailed some random taxis in Lille and we've booked an 8 seater return (from centre of Lille to stadium) for 250 Euros return. Pay on the day. Hope they turn up. Other prices I was quoted: 8 seater (but with 30% deposit paid by cheque required now) - 210 Euros return 4 seater - 80 Euros each way, pay on the day 6 seater - 90 Euros each way, pay on the day. If interested, I can pass on email addresses to you. Yeah that would be good, think we will look to get a train but if that becomes tricky we will get a taxi The email address is speedtaxi@hotmail.fr

If you are staying in LILLE and you are lucky enough to have a match ticket for Lens... You might want to consider using LILLE CHR train station, instead of the chaos of Flanders and Europe stations. There will be 60,000 at the Fan Zone and another zillion drunken englishmen stumbling of the Eurostar and looking for fights... The Fan Zone is about 100m from both Flanders and Europe Stations! LILLE CHR is South-West of town, while the others are North-East... Its €7 each way and I have bought these legs: Dep CHR at 11.37am and Arrive Lens at 12.19pm Dep Lens at 18.44pm and Arrive Lille CHR at 19.24pm Its on Lille Metro Line 1 (1.40€) Gare de Lille CHR is next to OSCAR LAMBRET Metro stop (not the final one)!

I only wish that UEFA were half as efficient as SNCF! Remember to change the COUNTRY to BELGIUM/ENG - if you have a Euro-Friendly credit card (Halifax Clarity etc). They send the tickets out in 2 to 3 days and its FREE delivery ... How refreshing! be.voyages-sncf.com/en/

Well the mayor has sold Lens to me with this line-....plenty for people to do aside from the football – including explore Lens’ mining heritage. Just outside the city are the biggest slag heaps in Europe.....
Im going to stay for a week!

The UK part of SNCF web site has been faulty for the last month or so! Get yourself a Euro-friendly credit card (Halifax Clarity or Post Office) or find anyone that has one. The tickets are delivered usually within 48 hours - free delivery - just remember to change the address country to: Great Britain! If you are still struggling, PM me and I'll buy them for you... For me it is the default option - but ticket the left panel - "Delivery Free By Post" ... and then there are 2 sections: 2/ Enter your surname, first name and E-mail address
3/ Indicate your contact details to complete your order

FAO Manulike, I bought two SNCF return train tickets Paris to Lens for my lad & his mate but they don't need them now as they are coming with me in my transport. I have the tickets in hand but are they transferable as the they have their names on.

I have the tickets in hand but are they transferable as the they have their names on. To be honest, really can't imagine the train masters having any time at all to even look at the tickets, let alone ask to compare it to a passport! The non delivery option is NOT really transferable, as you need to have the original credit card when collecting the tickets. Yanto, I am glad you agree with me that BELGIUM is a dran site better option than France ... No disrespect intended ...

What time does everyone think that the fanzone will be full by? Had originally planned on getting in Lens by around 10am and going straight there before the game, but don't want to turn up that early and be turned away just to roam the streets for hours with nothing to do!

Had originally planned on getting in Lens by around 10am and going straight there before the game, but don't want to turn up that early and be turned away just to roam the streets for hours with nothing to do! What originally was supposed to be 10k Fan Zone in Lens, and then was suggested about 7k or 8k last week ... A 60k Fan Zone in Lille must surely be a better prospect? The Stadium opens at 12 noon - it could perhaps be the same for the fan zone in Lens, as the official opening times for the Paris Eiffel Tower Fan Zone is also noon to midnight en.parisinfo.com/discovering-paris/major-events/france-welcomes-the-uefa-euro-2016/follow-the-euro-in-paris/the-eiffel-tower-fan-zone

I have a ticket to the game so Lille is a no go, a few of my mates don't tho so was just trying to sus it out for them really.I was hoping to get in the fanzone before the game for a few beers means there is just 2 bars but may just catch a later train now. Sounds like it's gonna be a bit of a nightmare.

Can imagine it will be a lot down to how the english fans behave during their first game in Marseilles. They have a bad track record there and the locals will not be helping them either...
