There are more than just 2 bars in Lens. It is a small place, but not that small. Have a walk up and down a few of the roads on Google streetview.

I have no idea I've personally never been there just going off what Corky has said and what was on Sports Wales when they went out there.

Anyone else having trouble reviewing their bookings on the UK sncf voyages page? Hi winnie, I have been looking at the UK side of SNCF for the last 5 weeks and its always been problematic ... Always ending up clicking on "Belgium" on top right corner ... but my slow Irish laptop keeps on going back to the UK site every visit...

I only wish that UEFA were half as efficient as SNCF! Remember to change the COUNTRY to BELGIUM/ENG - if you have a Euro-Friendly credit card (Halifax Clarity etc). They send the tickets out in 2 to 3 days and its FREE delivery ... How refreshing! be.voyages-sncf.com/en/ Great advice mate. UK site was doing my nut in not loading anything. Just got my train tickets lille to lens on match day using the Belgium site, and free postal delivery for the tickets aint bad!

Anybody found a good campsite? Ideally somewhere that it's easy to get to lens and Lille as we are going to the Slovakia v Russia match the day before aswel... We are coming in a campervan, did have campsite booked but they just cancelled on us! Have emailed loads of places but not coming back to us.. Guessing most places fully booked! Might have to just park her up on a random street near a train station..

Just in case the French go ahead with their proposed Train strikes on Wednesdays and Thursdays in June (most probably restricted service,as opposed to no service). I can imagine buying tickets in advance and that people with physical tickets (maybe trains tickets AS WELL AS match tickets) will have priority over walk-ons ... or am I just naive? Buy it here and get is posted within 48 hours or so - be.voyages-sncf.com/en/

Hi guys
Im travelling by train for this game by myself. I have bought tickets online (SNCF website using my best French to translate!) but haven't had them posted to me like I see some of you have. I assumed I would go to the station and collect them the day before like we can in this country? I think I'm just excessively worrying at this point....

Hi Gavin, As far as i remember, the default method on the French .com site was pick up at station with same credit card used to pay for it. They should have sent you an email confirmation on the day that you paid on-line. Also, log-in to your account, and you should be able to see all your booking there

I am not familiar with Loco2, GW. Do they offer discounted rates beyond the standard SNCF website fare of €7 Lille to Lens? A quick glance at it showed that it doesn't bring up LILLE CHR station - the one slightly South of town (which I feel will be easier to get to, and much quieter). Anyone that fancies traveling from LILLE CHR for €7 at 11.37am arrive Lens 12.19pm for €7 there are still tickets and (free) delivery is usually 2 to 3 working days! Are they laying on any extra trains for Lille to Lens and back? The SNCF website doesn't seem to show any extra services. Or do they just add a ton more carriages onto the existing services?

BAB, As the game is on a Thursday and scheduled for a strike-day, I will be more than delighted if the current trains actually leave... My logic says that if you actually have a ticket in advance and are using a less busy station (Lille CHR) if the service is reduced to 30% - you might stand a better chance of getting on the train. I am probably being far too optimistic there, though...

Personally, I just hope there will be enough Welsh fans in CHR station to share a taxi around 11am. There are 2 of us so far... Anyone else taking the 11.37am departure from Lille CHR?

I have booked onto that one too. Like I said I am doing this leg alone so glad to know there will be other Wales fans there. Fingers crossed the rail services sort themselves out...

I quickly scanned your post and became very excited as I thought that Lens had 'heaps of slags' there. Imagine my disappointment when I realised that the article related to coal dumps.
Oh well, I have to make do with the slags that put on their shiny cowboy hats and daffodil hats and head to Cardiff for the 6 nations each year............
