There is no chance he's going anywhere. I highly rate him but I can't see us beating Belgium 1-0 turning the heads of any top 4 managers. Palace would be a massive step backwards for him too. Mark my words, Alan Pardew's house of cards will come tumbling down this season

Yes, it has. He is the captain of a now top ten ranked international team. I agree with you. In addition, with Ash a team gets a strong leader, a defender comfortable with the ball, able to mix it physically, consistency and a record of playing well with different types of central defenders. I am amazed that a top four team has not purchased him by now but, obviously, glad that this has not happened. It's his age isn't it? It shouldn't count against him but the top 4 managers don't buy defenders under the age of,what, 24-25?

Palace have/will always be a side that fights for survival. It simply wouldn't make sense for Ash to sign himself up for that.

Just wait and see what happens when he goes on one of his infamous losing streaks. Top 7 my arse! Very confident we will finish higher than Swansea. Pardew is a very good manager and got treated abysmally by them Newcastle fans. Who are merthyr? Oh my dad told me he went there many years ago.

"them Newcastle fans" didn't treat him badly. He was an abysmal manager who's record was largely ignored by the Southern media who continuously perpetuate this stupid image of Newcastle fans only accepting people from the North East. I don't agree with some of the abuse thrown his way and he was certainly restricted in what kind of team he could field but those were the terms and conditions of his employment which he gladly signed up to. He was virtually unemployable when he got the Newcastle job and had a few relegations looming over him. Also, he wasn't pushed, he left for more money. Believe it or not supporters don't actually elect who is or isn't their manager.
btw Merthyr is the former Industrial capitoal of the world and current champions of the South & west division one

Ashley Williams has played 28,252 of Swanseaβs 28,980 league minutes since their League 1 promotion 2008. Wow.
According to twitter.

Yeah I saw that stat last night, fantastic achievement, but not something that surprises me he clearly looks after himself brilliantly. There are no signs to suggest he is coming to the end of his career which other defenders of his age would be showing. Be fitting if he went on to lead us to the world cup and then hung his boots up.

I'm no fan of the Swans, but as a football fan you can only say that stat is amazing. If he was a goalkeeper it would be one thing but he's a central defender having played through the promotion seasons. Amazing, truly amazing

Could he be Arsenal bound? Wenger could do a lot, lot worse.
Personally I hope he stays at Swansea as it'd probably be best for his Wales career.

Bad news for Swansea if he goes.
They should definitely try and sign Chester and Joniesta in the current window! They obviously need to get hold of a striker or two, and keeping hold of Siggy and Ayew is surely key for them!

Didn't this happen a few years back when Arsenal were interested? All the WalesOnline reports were saying that it was signed, sealed, delivered and then Ash was spotted in Tesco Extra in Fforestfach ? haha

Probably for the best he leaves Swansea, they're nowhere near the level they were when first promoted. Much better for us he goes to a club that's usually pushing for Europe.

He is 'Mr Swansea City' and the most influential reason on the pitch why they have experienced the most successful period in their history. Then as captain of Wales he drives them to the semi finals of a major championship.
The new foreign owners take over and there are rumblings he will sold. If this is the case you have to wonder what the fuck is going on the the Liberty. Allen allowed to go to Stoke and now this. This was the ideal moment to capitalise and build on the Euros.
If Swansea had played their cards better they could have had the Wales back 4/5 turning out for them every week, plus Allen sitting ahead with Huws.

Yes it surprises me that they have not bought Chester, such an easy quick win for them. I wondered about the appetite for Premiership football there last season when they got rid of Monk, they seemed rudderless for a while and the signings they are making these days is not the astute business of old. They were the archetype for a well-run club but of late everything suggests they can't be arsed anymore.

Tbf why would fans or players be arsed when there's no real aim other than filthy PL money for the club? They need a relegation to reinvent themselves in the same way West Ham have.
