I was never quite sure what the term rolling strike meant but there are less than half the normal Paris to Bordeaux services running tomorrow !

We have a train booked from Valenciennes to Lens on the day of the england match. Is there a website that tells you which trains are cancelled? I can't seem to find one...

As far as I know, THIS is the general SNCF daily update ... Today its 50% local train traffic incl TGV. THIS page is more specific ... but it has this disclaimer: Due to a nationwide strike, some trains may be cancelled and others may run on a modified timetable. The timetables shown here do not yet reflect the impact of the strike. Updated timetables incorporating service disruptions will be available at the end of the day.Their mobile app is only in French ;-)

I've got a return train from St quentin to Lens via Ostricourt on match day. Just gonna play it by ear and see what the situation is come the week of the game I guess! Pain in the ass but I'm quite relaxed about it all at this stage. We'll get there some way...

I've been trying to monitor the train cancellation thing for the last week. The bad news is that the cancellations are appearing to occur in most cases the day before. Services between Paris and Bordeaux seem to be no better than 40% of normal. Service between Paris and Lens are so limited they might as well be classed as non existent. The only direct train getting there before kick off arrives at about nine in the morning.
Add to the mix the Paris floods. Hopefully they'll recede but if it gets any worse those transiting Paris at the end of this week could have they're work cut out particularly if they're on a tight transfer.
The 12.24 train that I'm due to catch to Bordeaux next Saturday seems to run every day but I've left no time for any hiccups. Starting to get more than anxious about this now.
Add the French Government and French unions to the list of organisations who couldn't a shit about the travelling football fan.

You're right, it's a pain in the arse, but it's a case of working up a Plan B. Ultimate fall-back for us is car hire. Expensive though, and doesn't help much getting around Paris.

SNCF strongly recommend that you postpone any journeys planned for Monday 6th June onwards. Still showing a pretty full schedule for Tuesday onwards but it will probably be slashed tomorrow or Monday. They also are saying that if your train is cancelled don't turn up at the station.

I am strongly concerned about this - errrrr! First SNCF train for me is Monday 13 June - please be there at the station ;-)

Some good news. There definitely seems to be more trains running on the Paris Bordeaux and Paris Lens routes this week, certainly tomorrow. In fact all the respective trains that I'm due to catch are running tomorrow. Fingers crossed there's a light at the end of the tunnel. That said I think there are negotiations planned for today so there's still the potential for it to go tits up.

Talks to settle the rail strike have broken down without settlement. The tournament will start with strikes taking place. The Paris - Lens service seems better. Todays 12.18 Bordeaux to Paris train which we're due to get next Wednesday was cut overnight. Absolute bollox - how you supposed plan around that ? The government telling us only 10% are now on strike, well their causing an awful lot of disruption.

That's great news. I couldn't make sense of SNCF site to be honest but had come to the conclusion you had to rebook. To add to the positive there seems to be even more trains running today.

Would this affect a BA flight to Bordeaux. Seems doubtful but imagination running wild It shouldn't do as only Air France pilots planning to strike from 11-14 June. There is still a general strike planned for next Tue (14) June which could involve Air Traffic Control so all flights will be affected
