I watched his interview when joining Coventry and don't think he, yet, is a natural in front of the camera but a welcome addition as a player. Croeso...again.

Very excited about this. Been hoping and thinking it would happen soon. Former player of the year at Charlton. He will be a big player for us for the next 8 years. Maybe he'll be on the bench sometimes but like a Jazz Richards he has that potential to put an enormous performance in when necessary.

Probably does deserve his own thread now that he's been called up to the seniors. He's a very interesting case so perhaps now's the time to summarise his journey to this point...
Born in Luton, Jay qualifies for us due to his grandmother being born in Pontypridd. He also qualifies for Brazil. Jay played 63 times for the England youth setups, including at an U21 tournament which put in to doubt his eligibility for us. It has taken 2 years to clarify his eligibility with FIFA who have now confirmed he can represent us
Jay has played 204 senior appearances under his belt at the time of his call up. 48 of these were in League One and 148 have been in the Championship. He currently plays for Coventry, and can play as either a LB in a back 4 or a LWB in a back 5
Here is his brother Cole congratulating him on his call up...

What a wonderful and humble guy his brother Cole is. The players have no idea how great it is for the fans to hear that it meant / means something to them to have represented the country.
Such a shame his career did not work out but I hope he is having a great life with whatever he is doing now

Assist just now against Leicester He certainly looks a decent player when he comes on, no idea why he doesn’t get the chance to play regularly, though I don’t know enough about Coventry to even know who playing ahead of him.

I only saw the first half, but felt that Jay should have done much better in preventing the cross for the 2nd WBA goal.

Came on today when Coventry were 3-0 down against United, and played a part in the huge comeback that almost put Coventry into the final
Only watched after 80 mins but he played very well - did not look out of place against Premier League opposition. I hope he makes his debut soon for us because I think having an orthodox LWB of his quality is a very good option for us

Nevertheless a pretty good contribution and a shame he hasn't got the cup final to go to.

Online statistics suggest he had a pretty good game today.
