Being Welsh and learning to expect the worst, I wish we would have given him some minutes against Georgia. I know what you mean. I'm half hoping for a little injury to take him out of the limelight for a few months. I fear if he pushes into Chelsea's first team this season then the pressure put on the lad to switch allegiance would be huge.

I feel the same about Brooks too, both could be playing Premier League football before our next competitive match. Hopefully the appeal in them coming to Wales wasn't the possibility of going to Russia and they are enjoying being part of the team.

All of the new holy trinity (Woodburn, Ampadu and Brooks) have tasted England and declined and will get minutes in the next two weeks. It would need a huge change of circumstances for them to change their minds.

Out of interest, do the Nations League games tie players to the countries they represent - given that they are in effect qualifiers for Euro and World Cup tournaments? They aren't just friendlies are they.

'Ampadu, Du, Du, He's got Dreadlocks on his head. Ampadu, Du, Du, Looks like he's just rolled out of bed! Plays it left, plays it right. Wins the ball and keeps it tight Ampadu, Du, Du, makes Busquets look like Shite. Great lyrics. Will you be leading the sing-song at the Gare du Nord meeting?

That's a good one. The Swans used to do a similar one for his Dad right?
There's also another chant by Exeter fans he's pinned on his twitter account...

There's also another chant by Exeter fans he's pinned on his twitter account... That was definitely performed in the Ireland game. Seems terribly generic football league that one though. Reckon an Agadoo one shows more invention.

Conte just commented that Luiz is out of the Chelsea squad because Christensen and Ampadu can play ahead of him.

Ampadu also beats Luiz in the battle of the barnets.

Conte just commented that Luiz is out of the Chelsea squad because Christensen and Ampadu can play ahead of him. Not impressed with Christensen in first half. But was very solid in the second. After the match ended, Conte said "David Luiz can play with the others or be in the stand ... Ampadu is young but is ready". Great to see Ethan make the bench in such a major game v United, regardless of the Luiz situation. Well done!

I think he's probably ready to start for us now, he should be ahead of Ledley. We could freshen the formation up slightly and have ampadu as an out and out holding mid with allen and rambo ahead of him:
Ward Gunter Ash Chester Davies Ampadu Allen Ramsey Bale Lawrence Woodburn/Brooks

He was brilliant fair play to the lad. Needs to work on his crossing mind!

His range of passing is fantastic. He’s still raw but should be ready to start when the Nations League rolls around next September.
Looking forward to him lining up alongside Allen. Those two pulling the strings with all that attacking talent ahead of them will be worth the wait.

A galactico in the waiting. I just prey he's still playing for Wales this time next year. Brooks and Woodburn are great but they're lightweight. We were pushed all over the place in both games against Ireland. This man has the strength to have resisted that.

A future Wales captain. To think in him, we have the option of a composed and strong midfielder or central defender.
