As expected it's looking extremely likely we will have 100% collection of tickets in Tbilisi. Most likely down to Georgian FA been slow delivering them but it will also prevent anyone harvesting tickets for a better chance of getting a ticket for Cardiff This the 2nd time it's happened with us in Tbilisi so chance yous will have to do the same in October Good job I am arriving to Georgia three weeks ahead then :-)

If you dont fancy the last-minute dash to Luton and early morning bus to Tbilisi (The Wizz Air flight is still only £60 going out on the Thursday) ... Then this is a nice option:
Dept CARDIFF 10AM WEDNESDAY with Flybe to Milan Malpensa - arrive 1PM - £35 Dept MILAN at 6pm with Wizz Air to KUTAISI arrive midnight for £55
If you have the time, you can do the same route on MONDAY 2 Oct, for £10 cheaper

Holiday Inn Warsaw Airport is cheap and close to Terminal and also Ukrainian airways has indirect to Tbilisi. If you are staying over in Warsaw, AIR HOTEL is about 2 miles from airport., they do a free shuttle service and a single with breakfast is £30

Is there any news on how many tickets been allocated and when available to apply? I suppose they'll get on it as soon as they get back from Moldova. Huge stadium so I doubt there'll be any issues satisfying the demand.

Is there any news on how many tickets been allocated and when available to apply? The Irish were allocated 3000. I imagine we will get any amount of tickets we ask for...

I believe 2000 showed an interest so there will be plenty of tickets.
This number could increase/decrease following this weekend though.

Yep two wins this week, or even a win and a draw and demand will be very high. Though as others have said, i think we will be able to get as many tickets as we require.

I don't seem to be asked to express an interest anymore. There 4 of us going and we're not in the 2000.

Just back from our 2nd trip in 3 years.
Taxi drivers dont speak English and don't have a clue where they are going, apart from that its a great trip.
All local taxi journeys are meant to be 5 GEL which is less than €2, best advice is just give them the fare and get out of the taxi, we gave them 10 GEL every time and most were very appreciative, but some wanted more, but were politely told Fuck off lol.
Service everywhere is slow, so if on the shorts buy bottles and a case of minerals or whatever for the table. Still dirt cheap.

Did they keep you in the stadium after the game for any length of time?
Are there any bars near the ground for pre/post-match drinking?
Is it easy to get there from the old town area?

We were let out immediately after the game
We got the metro, was about 3 stops, but only arrived about 30 mins before kick off and it was slow getting in
After the game saw a taxi with 2 Irish lads in it so jumped in with them, was in no humour for drinking after the result to be honest. Traffic was crazy but still probably only 10/15 mins and threw 10 GEL at the driver and he was very happy
I do know a lot stayed drinking around the stadium after.

Come on guys. After this week's games and the gem that is Super Ben... It's time to download a Russian app on your phone and look forward to practising it in Georgia, so that you'll be fluent come June :+)

Hello all,
Noob alert - apologies if I've missed something previously, but just wondering what most are doing for getting to Tbilisi on the cheap, as return flights are looking out of the question without coughing up a wedge and a half?
Tried looking for cheap flights through the usuals - Brussels, Amsterdam etc. but everything seems expensive.
I'll continue to trawl through the thread but thought I'd ask just in case there's an obvious route most are doing that I haven't found yet.

Probably wont be cheap but Strachan Travel have just announced a direct charter from Cardiff overnight Thursday returning overnight Friday. They've not published any prices. Wont be cheap but at least you wont have any accommodation costs.

Group of us were over there last week for our game and was a brilliant trip bar the result
Anyone looking for cheap flights try fly to kutaisi. This what we did and spent a night their not much to do in the city but the food and drink was even cheaper here. Got the train down to Tbilisi next morning for something like €3 (took 5 hours)
Stayed in an apartment on freedom square which was ideal as could walk to the main bars the Irish were drinking in
Anyone there for a few days should look into doing a walking tour we did it in the day before the match and was very enjoyable

It would be helpful if you indicated where you live and When is the earliest you can go out there? Also, do you need to get back to Cardiff for the ROI March?

Sorry - should have put that in the message shouldn't I! I'm near Pwllheli but the others are in Cardiff, so most probably drive down to Cardiff and then travel from there as I need to get back for the Irish game on the Monday. I've got work off from the Thursday so can go from then really. What's the overnight train I've read about?
