Wrexham seemingly have a manager they cannot afford to sack. Wilkin and Morrell were both sacked with club struggling but nowhere near disarray it is in at present. 2nd lowest scorers in league - all their wins have been by 1 goal margin. Barry Horne said before Chester goalless draw that Mills was under pressure due to poor performances this season-yet 2 defeats and 1 goal later still in charge (in 4 games). Board have done brilliantly since taking over the club few years ago but seemingly someone has done a big mistake in giving Mills a contract that was too expensive to terminate. In retrospect Mills pedigree was at high spending clubs-not really ideal for a fans owned club.

In retrospect Mills pedigree was at high spending clubs-not really ideal for a fans owned club. neither Gateshead or York for that matter were big spending clubs. Macclesfield apart, there's been encouraging performances on the pitch since the jester 0-0. Tuesdays defeat was unjust but hey that's football. Sometimes you don't get what you deserve. Club is not in disarray, for disarray see Cardiff. The board are sitting tight with Mills, not because they can't afford to pay him off (they can but it would mean less money elsewhere) but they're prepared to give the bloke some time. A rarity these days.

York were a big spending club when in conference. Debt figures revealed when in FL showed this. Gateshead have a millionaire owner too. In last couple of weeks Mills has goaded board twice to sack him by saying he'll go if not wanted.Mills gave players 3 days off before Chester as he did over Christmas last year-and everyone knws what happened then. Has signed 4 or 5 strikers but not a singke goalscorer-inept is an understatement. Also falls out with players as did with Vose before selling him and Fowler.

All four of the 'big' Welsh club managers sacked already...this has never happened before surely?

Old enough to remember cup exits to Worcester City and Runcorn when we were a solid league side. Shit happens.

Bircham and Horne resign - didn't see that coming. Probably, didn't see Bryn Law resigning as well. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-north-east-wales-38618650Interesting comment in the he approves of fan ownership of football clubs, but cannot see how this has benefited Wrexham. Problems must lie much deeper as discussed with Wrexham fans in Carcassonne the night after the Russia game. Great passionate fans.

Good victory last night, but a perhaps another inconsistent start to the season? Hopefully they don't fall away from the pack too early again this season... www.bbc.com/sport/football/40858682

Wrexham haven't fallen behind early this year which is great news. They have a few young Welsh players worth keeping tabs on. Two young Welsh keepers in Callum Preston and Christian Dibble (son of Andy). Think the elder Preston (23) is getting games at the moment. There are also two central midfielders in Leo Smith and Olly Marx (who is Welsh according to Transfermarkt).
Really hope they can get back in the football league where they belong. If they were in a higher tier, they'd be able to tie down many young talents that come through the club and gain a better incomes from their departures.

How we're two points off top god only knows. Defence aside we've been poor IMO. Preston had a good debut last night but Smith and Marx will be in the Welsh Premier league before long.

Olly Marx is a centre back and English. Cannot agree with the above post, Olly is the most talented youngster we have produced in the last decade

Another good win and clean sheet for Wrecsam. Very tight at the top so a strong defence will help keep the points ticking. Add some goals to the mix and its there for the taking.
Anyone at the game?

Yes, I was. Fantastic gutsy performance - played with 10 men for 89 minutes. Sending off was actually in the 13th minute but there was 2 minutes extra time at the end of the first half and 10 minutes at the end of the second. Great support and atmosphere too - 1,500 from Wrecsam there. The sort of result that can give you real momentum. Let's hope we can kick on from here.

Fantastic result - would love to see Wrecsam back in the League. But Radio Wales said there were 3,000 Wrecsam fans there, you're now saying that there were 1,500 - but the attendance was given as just over 1,800. Something not quite right here...

1478 Wrexham fans. Very good following especially after the rank performance last week. A win next week against league leaders Sutton will be a massive statement of intent. Defeat and the whingers will be back out in force

BBC Sport have given the attendance as 1,835. That can't be right, surely? Both Tranmere and Wrexham are big clubs

Tranmere show 6800 with 1500 from Wrexham (total 6800 includes season tickets even if not in attendance this year) That said there were well in excess of 1800.
