Did Ramsey go to Juventus for free?
Or else he would have been 2nd - what £40 million?

United really need him on the right so that'll be interesting.

Not a UTD fan at all but genuinely excited for him. However It was brought up on EJFOF who is going to mentor him or welcome him to the club and I couldn't think of a single player.

Don't think this is a good move for him, personally. Solskjaer will be gone by Christmas, and he's going to be surrounded by unrest on all sides, stagnant mediocrity and the likes of Banter King J-Lingz. richierich333 is right, who exactly is going to mentor him? Ashley Young? He would've been better at a club like us or Leicester IMO.
I hope it works out for him.

He seems to fit the bill for the winger they have been missing but it's certainly no guarantee he'll play. I hope he's a regular starter but how many players have gone to UTD and hardly played? Millions, some far bigger names than James.

It's a dream move for someone who couldn't get a game at Shrewsbury not that long ago.
Hope it goes well.

He couldn't get a (competitive) game for Shrewsbury in their first 4 games of the season, where they won 3 and drew the other, having had surgery in the summer. Their manager made some daft comments about him needing to shape up as he wasn't impressing in training over their established senior wingers, and he was brought home (they were also over the loan player limit at the time).
Imagine if Swansea had given up on him at the end of August last season. He hadn't even made a league start for Potter by that point. If Shrewsbury had kept him on they likely wouldn't have fallen short of promotion. Just like Leeds if they'd stumped up the cash in January.
Potter liked to trot out that headline. Without proper context it makes it seem like there's been some huge and recent transformation.

Thats why im concerned about his development rich. As nwcherries has said, its a wrong move for him, i would have liked him to go there as he would be amongst good level headed players withba cracking manager.

He's earned my admiration just for training in Dubai at this time of the year...! He's nuts...! It's pushing 40 degrees at half seven in the morning plus the humidity and he's sprinting like a bastard....! Fair do's to him though, it looks like his literally putting in the hard yards to give himself a a chance of being in Ole's thoughts for the start of the season. Good luck to the boy.

It'll probably be the first season that I'll be following United's progress. I do worry about the image problem there though. It's very dated but can have a negative influence on players.

I think the negative personalities in that dressing room were well known a long time ago. Fergie was happy to ditch Pogba at the first opportunity because despite his talent he could see this coming. United's big problem is that since Fergie left the players have become more powerful than the manager. That's one of the reasons why Fergie was the best ever, it didn't matter who you were, if you didn't have the right mentality you were gone. Keane, Beckham, Pogba all found that out. I think Dan seems very level headed and passionate about football, and I can't see him becoming a Lingard/Martial/Pogba type.

I'm getting the impression that a lot of United fans are quite rightly, fed up with the entitlement image that still seems to plague some elements of United. Hopefully, Solsjkaer will want to change this.

I’m liking the press reports that he has showed up to training and is out-stripping his peers by 5 or 6 yards in the sprint tests. He even maxed out the bleep test! In this day and age of pampered pros he seems to be showing an almost Ronaldo like attitude to his career and it is great to hear. Good on him.

The reports say that Solskjaer has already revealed that he will play a full part in the pre-season tour but he will be slowly introduced to the premier league over the coming months so I would heavily expect him not to start against Chelsea.

A gradual introduction is not a bad thing imo. No use in him being thrown in at the deep end and being lambasted if he doesn't make an immediate impact. He'll need time to adjust.

Had a very good 45mins against spurs today by all accounts, creating a few chances and drawing half a dozen fouls - most of them from sissoko who also stamped on him!

Might have a chance of starting in their first game, however think he may get used as an impact player.
