20m will be difficult for the Swans to turn down

£20m from leeds is a tad far-fetched, to say the least. From what I understand, the £2.5m they spent on roberts was the highest fee they'd paid in ages and they've been renowned for being stingy in recent years. Spending £20m on a 21 year old who's not necessarily first choice for swansea isn't very realistic

But, then again, there were rumours last month that Leeds were after Rambo. I guess they are just that. Rumours...

I doubt if the fee is anywhere close to what they will bid, but I would prefer for him to stay, he is getting regular first team action I doubt if he will get that at Leeds.

As has been seen with Ben Woodburn, it'll be tough breaking into a team that's fighting for promotion, and even if they achieve that, he'd likely be sidelined to ensure that they stay above the relegation zone.

Came on at beginning of 2nd half. Looks fantastic flying down the wing and him together with Connor are a true thing of great beauty. Sadly, once again, squandered two very convertible opportunities - one from point blank.
He presses really well and actually had a couple of great defensive tackles. I wonder if he should really play as LB instead of LW.
Well. He is young. Plenty of potential, though.

Agreed on the whole, but it's a bit harsh to say he squandered his chances. I can only recall one good chance, and he brought an excellent save out of the United keeper. But his finishing in general is the one area that needs most work. He has a disturbing habit of hitting his shots straight at the keeper. But promising for sure. I hope he doesn't leave Swansea for sure, but the fact that Bielsa is targeting him says something about his ability and potential.

Scores his second goal of the season ;-)
Wonderfully exciting movement, on and off the ball as well as great communication with Connor.
Nonetheless, even when scoring the goal tonight, he once again goes straight down the throat of the goalie - a thing that he seems to be doing far too often.

Agreed about his shot - which the goalie should have saved, but it did have a lot of power on it to be fair. But one area he does seem to be developing is his crossing - he could easily have had a couple of assists tonight, with some decent finishing. He was my MOTM.

I turned over after 70 minutes (when Rambo came on for the Arsenal...) - any idea why Connor got subbed?

Roberts looked a bit tired to me, he switched off 2 or 3 times and Birmingham intercepted the ball. Maybe a bit of fatigue... I agree that Daniel James was Swansea's best player tonight, and Camp should've made a save for the first goal really.

Lots of rumours going round that he has a medical at Leeds this afternoon. Swans apparently letting him go for a loan fee(!!!!) with option to buy if Leeds go up. Shambles of a club. To be honest he's probably better off going because if Swansea keep shipping out players at this rate they'll be in a relegation battle next year.

Shipping out Bony & Montero who have been injured most of the time earning shed loads of cash.

Just been looking at the latest trending of Dan on Twitter. Fascinating reading. The Swans are slating the owners and United fans are bricking it... Personally, I'd love him to stay at Swansea, but it seems that the club are more interested in cashing in on him ;-(

Bizzare, but not unexpected from the current Swansea owners. Good news for Swansea, although I'm sure James will be disappointed. But he should get plenty of game time and should continue to develop under Potter, so good for him, Swansea and Wales in the short-term.

Swansea are a shadow of the club they were 10 years ago. Amateurish now.

This will be a test of his mentality because I'd imagine he's pretty embarrassed and possibly angry with the club right now, which isn't the ideal circumstances and motivation to represent the club for the remainder of the season. Hopefully he can shrug it off and not let it affect him, otherwise both Swansea and his own development will suffer.

Agreed, but it sounds like Leeds were partly to blame for this impasse, something to with the payment schedule.

If the Swans sell James in the summer, they could look at signing some other Welsh players:
Gwion Edwards Jonny Williams Marley Watkins
I know that Marley Watkins would love to play for the Swans, and I'm sure they could persuade Edwards to sign. Both quick wingers, and we haven't seen the best of Edwards yet.

The word on Twitter is that James was never offered a renewed contract a Swansea and never wanted to leave. "The winger's agent, David Manasseh, told BBC Sport Wales: "Swansea made no attempt to keep the player and at the first sign of money they couldn't show him the door quickly enough. It is very disappointing but the player is philosophical about it." www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47069029

James is probably one of their lowest-earners seeing as he's just breaking through, so they probably wanted to keep him at that lower wage for as long as they could, rather than extending and then having to increase his salary. Looks like it's backfired though!
It may have been good for his development to be coached by Biesla, who according to Guardiola is one of the best coaches around. However, Potter seems to be a great influence on the young players too so it may be much of a muchness. I just hope the whole shenanigans won't affect him mentally.
