When i watched this game recently i was shockec how shit alot of our play was, take out the goals amd fookin shit. Made me realise how far we have come. Perhaps i would have said the same of the many games i ve watched since 1978 Totally agree, some of Bellamy's. CORRECTION. MOST of Bellamy's passing was shockingly shit.

In my mind I had this game down as one of the finest footballing displays I've ever seen, looking at it now the game was pretty dire really, we struggled to keep possession for more than a few passes from the first whistle. Not to stick the boot in but Savage was awful too, nowhere near international class.

i nearly fell off the 2nd tier (the Swalec end where there is only 2 tiers) behind the goal in that game, luckily a mate grabbed me.

Anybody know if S4c are planning a programme to celebrate the tournament with highlights etc.
Set series record on Sky for all the games, it did Slovakia and half of England then gave up the ghost, would really like to relive some of the goals and special moments.
On the plus side it also stopped taping after four episodes of Emmerdale for the missus!!

Maybe we can start a new thread of swapsies - not of Panini stickers - but of game DVD's? I've got Wales v Russia but are looking for the Belgium and Portugal games.....

Doesn't look like there's much on S4C for the next 7 days. On Monday evening there's Wales at the Euro's on itv, probably similar to the BBC programme above but it's better than nothing.
What I'd really like to hear is a compilation of the radio commentary of all the goals going in, watching on telly you tend to miss most of that.

You know he's on his feet, just delighted with being able to bring us the news! I think I mentioned on anger thread that the BBC Wales daily podcast opened with his commentary on the three goals the day after Russia. Just magic!

So they asked the opinions of 3 ex-rugby players but not one ex-football international?

If you missed it earlier the last episode of Elis in Euroland starts with that very compilation! www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07h6mw2#play

So they asked the opinions of 3 ex-rugby players but not one ex-football international? Yeah, they should of titled it "Road to the semi-finals: vox-pops from people who have previously had sod all to do with Welsh football and all live in South Wales".
I have to say that the output that I have seen so far from BBC Wales (Rob Phillips and Dafydd Pritchard aside) has been awful. I mean Owen Money, Jonathan Davies and Tammy Grey-Thompson commenting on a programme about football. I guess that they thought that they had to do a quick turn-around on the programme and the 'football people' were still out in France, but still.
I tweeted BBC Wales yesterday asking why Carolyn Hitt (of Western 'rugby' Mail fame) was on a programme regarding Welsh football and fair play to her, she replied saying that she had questioned if she was the right person to be on the programme, but they wanted her to comment on the impact on Welsh life. So you can't blame her if she took the gig. It just seems that the BBC couldn't think of anybody better.

To be fair to Owen Money he is a football man but the rest.....?

EDIT: I've since started to listen to Elis (James) in Euroland and are finding them a very enjoyable listen.
To be fair to Owen Money he is a football man but the rest.....? Is he, well that's fair enough then. I've previously always turned off when he comes on!

I can't stand Carolyn Hitt, she seems to infiltrate every programme on BBC Wales no matter what it's about.

To answer my own question "Merci Cymru" was on last night but I missed it, no worries though it is being repeated on Friday 22th @ 23.00 and also next Monday.

Some of the material was also used in "Wales' Euro Heroes" but the S4C was far better for me. The BBC Wales version went way OTT for outsider contribution. Some is fine but the balance on BBC Wales was wrong. S4C had the balance, shots of Pobol y Cwm cast aside, much better.

That's bloody brilliant news. Hopefully this means they'll all be screened at the London Welsh Centre, the atmosphere there for the Euro games was incredible.
