So the ‘admin error ‘ from the ‘administrator has pretty much cost these talented youngsters a place in the play offs / Finals!!! Shame on the FAW Why 'shame on the FAW'? Seems like more of an individual than an institutional error - I mean, it's hardly like this has been a recurring problem that they've failed to address. It's just a one-off, monumental cock-up by an individual - I just feel sorry for that individual for all the shit coming his/her way! It could be the hiring policy, and that would be an institutional issue.

The squad fly to Slovakia now for a friendly match on Tuesday , should be a good test for the players in preparation for the finals ! The administration error - these things happen at very low level football most weekends I’m sure but this was the Under 21s biggest match since the play off defeat against England in 2008 - 16 years ago !! What an error !!

Whoever cocked up should definitely get sacked. They are paid to do an admin role ffs. How much money and future media exposure has that cock up cost us as a nation ??
Just shows we are still very amateur in a lot of ways.

As bad as the consequences were it looks as if the error was probably as simple as attaching the wrong document. Do you sack someone for that?
What the FAW (isn't it about time we rebranded ourselves as FAC?) didn't anticipate (understandably) was that UEFA wouldn’t accept a corrected squad sheet and the ramifications of that. I wonder if the Czechia FA were involved at all?
In future our procedures will have to be tighter. It may seem like overkill but we will need to have two people in the room to doublecheck that the correct information is sent.

Why does this not happen to other countries?
Just can't get my head around how we shot ourselves in the foot. The Czech Republic have talented players but there is a reason they have struggled a little in qualification - they have not done well under pressure. By denying ourselves arguable our 2 best players (and 4 other options) after losing our first choice goalkeeper and best defender to injury / suspension we ended up gifting a talented but flakey Czech team a comfortable victory. Look at how poor they were dealing with whipped in crosses into the centre of their goal - a decent striker would have got 2 or even more goals. That was despite us looking several league below them in terms of quality
A big, critical game gifted to them is hard to take. It is disgusting if UEFA refused to accept it was a mistake and allow us to resubmit BUT I have the impression the idiot in charge of this did not realise until yesterday, given the comments on the BBC website that Jones was only aware of this a few hours before kick off - which makes it all even worse

If the muppet can’t attach the right documents to something as important and as vital as the correct team sheet then absolutely they need to be shown the door. this kinda thing used to happen when I played Sunday league and pub league and even then the bloke who cocked up got rinsed for it ffs.

UEFA players list has to be submitted to UEFA by midnight the day before the match The match team sheet has to be submitted to UEFA 75 minutes before kick only using players that have been selected on the UEFA players list In other words the UEFA players list wasn’t done !!

Are you saying no player list was sent, so UEFA took the default of the previous squad submitted?

Does anyone remember the draw for a round of the Welsh Cup many years ago during the Alun Evans reign? They got to the end of the draw (which was televised) and there was one ball still in the bag, they had to re-draw and check the numbered balls again. Last night was another big cock-up. I thought the Association was now more professional, seems I was wrong in this instance.

Are you saying no player list was sent, so UEFA took the default of the previous squad submitted? I’d say that the previous squad was sent in error, therefore we could only select the players who were in the last squad. It can’t be a coincidence that the players not able to play all weren’t in the previous squad.

What the FAW (isn't it about time we rebranded ourselves as FAC?) Just on this point the FAW are also known as CBDC (Cymdeithas bêl droed Cymru). It's on the website and all correspondence. Not sure what FAW stands for, possibly F-ing Amateur W.....s (or am I being harsh?)

Sounds like a crazy second half. Went into it 1-0 up and quickly found ourselves 2-1 down, equalised, then went 3-2 down in 80+ mins (I think) and then scored two late goals to win 4-3!

Wow that shows real mental strength and confidence, especially against a big name like Italy where it would be easy to fall apart

So, so proud of them. Pretty incredible!
Amazing progress has been made with the age grades!
There must be four or five high quality players to be able to get two excellent results away to Italy in a few days!

Well done, lads!

Anyone know if this is true?
Apparently the FAW will fine the amateur Welsh league football teams if they have not uploaded the teams to the Cymru football app in time?
