Hold my hands up I have long been waiting for David Brooks to "click" for Wales, even pre illness.
Well he certainly "clicked" last night, some of his ball control and beating a man was outrageous!
More of the same please.

No point wanting Bournemouth to do well as it will not help our boys.
Why cant they move on when its clear they will not get game time? Mempham in particular needs to play regularly to iron out lapses in his game and to see where his true ceiling is!

Mempham in particular needs to play regularly to iron out lapses in his game and to see where his true ceiling is! They can't move on because they have contracts. I'd love to live in this imaginary world where Welsh players are released from their contracts mid-season to search for more game time.

Some talk that Leeds and Southampton are interested in taking him on loan.
Either could be a good move for him I'd say. Southampton would be my preference I think.

Leeds could be a good move as they are crying out for a No10 with a bit of guile. Also James and Gnonto sometimes struggle to break down teams on the right-hand side, so I can see why they might be interested. Current starting line-up:
Rutter
Summerville / Piroe / James When it works they look great, e.g. 4-0 v Ipswich, but opposition teams are starting to setup with a low block, which has resulted in some frustrating attacking performances. (They have dropped 11 points from 15 in the last 5 games).
Possible new line-up:
Piroe
Summerville / Brooks / Rutter

Yeah needs a top half Championship loan. Been too long without regular football for him, so you can't bemoan him not getting into a Bournemouth side doing really well. Their manager seems to favour the pacey direct type of forward which isn't really Brooks's game. He'll thrive somewhere else though I'm sure of it

On for last 25' v Liverpool. Should have scored with a clear one on one, shot wide. Kieffer was on for last 10' - also should have scored ...

I think he should have scored but wind seemed to hold the ball up so he was always ahead of it then seemed to blow his delicate touch well wide. Not as bad as it first seemed.
It's amazing that he's come back into football but I think he has missed out on key development due to injury and illness. Still time to catch up mind - he's still quite young.

MOTM. If he is putting himself in the shop window, that was one decent display.
Leeds United someone?

Looks like he's off to Southampton:
Not a bad move - I'm sure he'll get more gametime than at Bournemouth, but won't walk into the first team ahead of their front three of Che Adams, Ryan Fraser, and Adam Armstrong who all seem to be having strong seasons.

Bad news for the Welsh trio at Leeds, Brooks will be a cheat code in the Championship. Glad to see he's chosen country over club though, and he want's game time to prepare for the playoffs.

I hope so. I have to admit, I'm not as confident as you. I remember him with Bournemouth in the Championship after they came down. He was good, but not brilliant. Was actually in and out of their team in the second half of the season. Scored 6 goals in 39 Championship games for them, which is a little disappointing to be honest.

I don't know if his still undiagnosed illness might have been affecting him at that time, but he has always been a top player in my eyes. A former Welsh player of the year too.

Yeah, I've thought that too. He was outstanding in the prem for that one season. There's a reason why Man U were rumoured to be in for him for £50m. Hopefully he's now fully over all those illness issues and can get back to those levels. That would be a gamechanger for us

Great attitude on Dai. He'll be back in the prem with Southampton next year too, it's a great move all round (except for Bournemouth I guess).

Leicester, Southampton & Leeds have got some players who shouldn't be allowed to play at this level, and there will be something wrong if all three clubs don't go straight back up. The good news is over half of the Welsh team are playing for these clubs, so they will be full of confidence going into the playoffs.
