Possibly. A shame he's another attack minded midfielder

Any youngsters named in the squad are unlikely to feature against Austria anyway. Should we get a comfortable lead against Moldova then maybe Woodburn and Lee Evans will get capped. Can't see anyone else getting on the pitch.

How does he qualify for Wales. Is it a Welsh grand parent?

Bizarre thread! From wiki;
On 15 May 2017, he was called up to the Wales U20 squad for the 2017 Toulon Tournament. He later withdrew from the Wales setup, instead being called up to the England U20 squad for the same tournament.[7] England won the tournament and Brooks was given the Best Player award, having scored in the Final.
No chance in hell he's interested in us.

Also, don't see why we'd be interested up with the likes of Ryan Hedges, Lee Evans, Gwion Edwards all playing well and committed. Plus the likes of Woodburn, Wilson etc

Brooks said: "I'm delighted with the opportunity to play for Wales - I've spoken to Robert Page and I'm looking forward to joining up with the squad.
"It is a boost to know my progress in being monitored at international level and it will be an honour to play for Wales - it will be a proud moment. My mother is Welsh, she's from Llangollen and I'm sure all the family will come out to support me." from Sheff Utd

Sorry was posting on the youth teams thread in a rush. Didn't see this thread. The player definitely deserves one!... Crazy story about Brook's double defection. The Welsh staff see pretty open and confident about letting players try both camps. I suppose this is likely to prevent annoying defections down the road. Sometimes people just need a little time to make the right choice Sheffield United fans rave about him and from what I saw of him against Cardiff he looks a decent prospect, hopefully he stays with us now and can get in a senior squad

He came on against Cardiff for the last half hour or so and from what I can gather, he has been involved in their other games

Wow - I never saw that coming! Just think of it - he goes to England, exceeds and wins player of the tournament and then want to go back to try out the Welsh environment. Its not like he's 16 either - he is 20! He must feel an attachment of Wales to make the decision he has - his mum was cited in the press release! I looked back and it is noted that Page made clear he had not given up on him and the door remained open. Page also said he had already committed to the England squad before he was named in the Welsh squad for the Toulon tournament - which implied that was the reason for him withdrawing from that Welsh squad. I thought it strange but a bit of a smoke screen but now we see a bit more clearly.
Regardless of what is happened - the likes of Roberts and the coaching staff are doing literally an unbelievable job in creating such a culture/environment/passion that is seeing the likes of potentially top quality players like Woodburn, Ampadu, Roberts and now possible Brooks choose a career with us over England. Pretty amazing!

Great prediction
This excites me an awful lot. The player of the Toulon Tournament would rather play for us. That says so much without speaking.
And I think he has a lot of potential to be a premier league regular.

Just checked out his best bits at the Toulon tournament - pretty impressive and to think he won player of the tournament (see link below). Ironically another you tube video is entitled future England star. It would be a real coup for Welsh football if he decides to permanently commit to Wales, assuming he continues to progress. www.youtube.com/watch?v=evOclSqQy5MIt is encouraging we are getting a couple of players coming through who can beat a man with skills and pace. Brooks can do it, so can young James and Lawrence of course, while Woodburn can with his skill. We seem to have a wide variety of players available. Seems like the next tournament may be our peak - Ramsey, Allen and Bale still the right side of 30, Huws, Lawrence and Ward have hopefully pushed on and hopefully at least two out of the likes of Ampadu, Woodburn, Brooks and Roberts have established themselves as very good young players.

Found this thread last night on the Sheffield United forum... www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/brooks-for-wales.57367/They're posters come across really well, especially further in to the thread. No bitterness at all and really positive about Brooks for Wales. They also make good arguments as to why it will happen.
