It's all riding on Wales qualifying for World Cup. Wales qualify and he's in. Fail and he chooses England

I had that though but I reckon he'll chosen us anyway. From an agents point of view he's played things perfectly, got the exposure through England via player of the tournament at Toulon. But if he carries on getting first team football at the Blades and Woodburn gets none at Liverpool, he'll overtake him in the pecking order for the seniors at this rate.

Wow - just saw the first half goals. What a player Brooks must be to score that kind of goal. Amazing he has come back to our squad. Surely worth a senior bench spot pretty soon.
We are getting together quite a few attacking options together!

I watched the second half and what I noticed was how committed and hungry he was. Talent is one thing but you need a bit of edge to have a chance of making it and he definitely has that!

I'd get him in the senior squad to simply annoy the English.
Would love to see the reaction to Brooks, Woodburn and Ampadu being given a competitive cap.

Brooks should be on the bench against Moldova, especially if we fail to win tonight. In fact he, Woodburn & Ampadu should all get a cap as Cookie's leaving present to his successor.

I can't see him switching again, I was very disappointed to see him switch to England but sometimes it takes time to make the right decision

I can't see him switching again, I was very disappointed to see him switch to England but sometimes it takes time to make the right decision He didn't get selected for England u21s so he come back again, just using Wales. Go through his social media feeds and it's obviously he sees himself as English not Welsh. Honestly don't care how good he is, rather he stayed away. Maybe he feels he's both?? Millions of people around the World feel connected to more than one nation. Don't mean to single you out, but the England bashing is getting a bit cringey on here.

www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/09/10/report-everton-leading-the-race-to-sign-sheffield-united-midfiel/Apparently Everton still after him. Definitely looks Premiership quality. Saw a brief video highlight of Sheffield Utd's game on Saturday and he took up almost a third despite coming on in the second half. He provided an assist and almost another with a good run, skill, composure and pin point passing. I have no idea why he is on the bench for Sheff Utd he seems head and shoulders above the rest. Should we have him on the bench for October's qualifiers? I just think he'd give yet another attacking option? Teams like Georgia will have no idea about a player like him. PS - No ranting about him swinging between Wales and England. Just asking based on footballing and game changing ability whether we should call him up?

On thing I am noticing with these Anglos is the maternal line appears to be pretty important (Woodburn, Ampedu, Brooks, etc!)
Brooks was born in Warrington and is thus eligble for his birth country England, however he is also eligible to represent Wales through his Welsh mother from Llangollen.

If he can prove he's 100% committed to Wales then I don't see why not
That may be the stumbling block though

By choosing England at the Toulon tournament that we were competing at should be a tell tale sign that he has no affiliation with Wales, but would choose us if he thought hed never get a chance at England - which is a shame.

He's been capped in a competitive Under 21 game for us hasn't he? Doesn't that mean he's committed to Wales?

The good thing is, Page and co will have had a chance to get to know the lad better now. I do agree with the calls that we should end our interest in the player if he doesn't have a keen passion to pull on the red Jersey. We don't want another Lloyd Jones type situation because he took up youth international opportunities we could have given to a more deserving player.
But there's absolutely nothing wrong with feeling affiliated to more than one nation. Many many people are. I'm not at all bothered that he is an England supporter. The only reason I would be bothered was if he wasn't a Welsh supporter too.

Equal choice, both sides at same tournament, he chose England.

Apparently England did call him up first. But you would imagine there might've been some kind of choice for the lad.
The Welsh staff encourage dual nationals to try both nations. Think Ampadu trained with England after Osian Roberts encouraged him to do so. (I think I've got the right player).
Let's not judge the lad too early. Good luck to him which ever he chooses. He looks a talent and hopefully he has the hunger to fulfill his potential.
