Why bismircher? So you can watch us fail to beat everyone except Italy and Scotland again like last year? So you can watch us finish in the bottom 3 again like we have in 9 out of the last 11 championships? To quote RD- I'm not negative, just realistic.
And apparently Adam Matthews and Joe Ledley were pretty decent rugby players as kids too. But in contrast to what someone else on here once said about how Welsh kids will always prefer to play rugby (RD perhaps?) it's no surprise to me that they all decided on concentrate on football: chance to earn more money, play in front of bigger crowds at club level, become much more famous world wide, less chance of getting injured etc

You can say exactly the same thing about our footy team apart from beating Italy. The rugby team have a better chance of winning the six nations than the footy team has of qualifying for a tournament.

Why? Because I like rugby as much as I like football,no harm in that and if it was about watching us being mediocre I'd had given up the football quicker than the rugby lol plus anything that includes guys in tight tops and small shorts is a good thing yum yum!!

The hate for rugby astounds me sometimes. Maybe it is nauseating the amount of coverage it gets, but at least its a game we have had some success in!
If it was left to the football team we would have never had any bragging rights at all in the sporting world despite producing some quality players. Best of luck to the rugby team I say, its nice to watch Wales compete at a sport and actually be in with a shout of winning a match for a change.

I like football........ But I also like rugby!......... But which one's the best??? There's only one way to find out................. FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!! ;DI don't understand this egg chasing hatred either. I'd follow Wales if they played tiddly-winks. I love everything Welsh, and if I had the chance to play rugby, football, or whatever for Wales I'd jump at the chance. But that'll never happen coz I'm SHIT at everything!!

We may have finished bottom 3 in 9 of the past 11 tournaments, but we won the Grand Slam in the other two. The Six Nations is an open tournament which makes for good viewing. It's the only rugby I watch.
That said, success for our football side (by which I mean qualifying for a finals) would mean so much more than any Grand Slam.

To be fair FF, that article is just the usual celebrity gossip trash written by some daft bint who hasnt got a clue and shouldnt be held against rugby as it is totally irrelevant to the sport. In fact dare I say it but Im surprised she can get away with an article like that in the wake of the Andy Gray sexism scandal. If that was a man writing about fit olympic swimmers he would be carpeted.

Ramsey's too small to have played rugby professionally, I reckon. Played well for Cardiff last night by the way, and didn't shirk any tackles.

Rambo is six foot according to wikipedia, so taller than people like Rob Howley and Shane Williams. I don't think his height would have stopped him becoming a rugby player (especially as I'm sure he'd have spent several hours a day in the gym bulking up if he'd gone down that route) but I'm very glad he chose football anyway. I reckon someone with his vision and imagination is more suited to football than modern rugby anyway.
I heard he played well last night in what was a pretty disappointing Cardiff performance overall. Did Simon Church still look out of form?

Now that's a great attitude, why do people who love welsh football hate welsh rugby and vise versa. It's like a contest. Most fans of welsh rugby support England football because they say Wales r crap at football. It really annoys me. Just support everything welsh!!

Did Simon Church still look out of form? I saw Rambo the other day (at street level) - there's no way he is 6ft. He's about 5ft 10 max. Shane Williams and Howley are/were quite nippy - Rambo is a slowcoach - he'd get killed playing rugby. I thought Church had a good game before he got subbed. Quite lively. Didn't really look like scoring though.

It took roughly 2 seconds for fucking rugby to be mentioned on thhe BBCs coverage of todays Swansea Cardiff game. Unbelievable. Like I've stated before, I don't hate rugby. I just wish the media coverage for Welsh football was much better/more balanced. And why is it that the Wales rugby team can go on a run of 2 wins in 14 games and still be the media darling national heroes when our football team (5 wins in our last 14 ) are considered by the Welsh media to be some sort of national embarassment? How does that work? At least Steve Tucker's trying to redress the balance: www.walesonline.co.uk/sports/sports-columnists/2011/02/06/why-is-rugby-our-national-sport-91466-28120920/

But don't confuse network-wide BBC coverage, with BBC Wales coverage. Network-wide will always use lazy Welsh cliches: love rugby; dragons breathing fire; the Valleys Get over it flynnfan, life's too short

I know it ain't about football but good luck t Wales on saturday against Ireland & France of course especially t see the look on that ex english player Lawrence Dildo's face, I dislike rugby because of the WRU neglect of the North & the continual bias/coverage of the BBC but it has been an enthralling tournament so far with the ITV coverage not over the top
Best player for Wales has gotta be George North
;D ;D ;D

Im loving the rugby so far. There is much to admire in the way that Wales have set about their task and I am very proud of all of them. Whilst the English are making cocks of themselves on the piss our lot are abstaining from drink so they can be at peak fitness. Proper professionals with a professional mindset. And fair play to the WRU, after the shambles of 2007 they dreamed big and brought in top class coaches who could make a difference and as well as winning a grand slam in their first season they have laid some solid foundations for the future. We have a whole squad full of players who, if not world class now have all the makings of being world class in time.
I was absolutely beyond devastated when we lost to SA a few weeks back, and I suspect we will lose in similar plucky style to Dads Army on Saturday as the Irish will make sure the game is a scrappy one and apparently the conditions wont be great which will play into their hands. What is important is how we progress and that win against an SH side cant be far off. Once we get that it will be full steam ahead. Get yer money on Wales for 2015 whilst the odds are good, seriously we are going to be the team to beat in that tournament if our players avoid injury.

I don't get that post RD. Yes, the Welsh rugby team have lots of really good young players who you think would only get better , but then SO HAVE WE!!!! And yet, we get nothing but pessimism from you about Welsh international football and yet Welsh rugby is all sweetness and light! Very strange. and don't say its because of our fantastic rugby history, because we haven't beatent he ALL blacks for nearly 60 years now, and have only beaten the Springboks once in out entire history. To my mind, we have just as good a chance of qualifying for the 2014 world cup ( a proper world cup!) as the rugby team have as winning the next one.
Having said all that, I am genuinely disappointed to be missing the match on Sat morning as I'll be travelling back from Swansea at that time...
