Was going to say - has Matthews got Premier League & Club World Cup winners medals to his name? Did he nick one from a Chelsea player in 2015 when he was at Sunderland or something? At 19 Matthews had 40 Championship appearances under his belt, its hardly like Williams was integral to winning those competitions either I agree with your point, but therefore itโs still silly to say that Matthews has a better CV. Neco has the better CV & Matthews has the experience - no doubts

Problem with Matthews is that his previous commitment is questionable, and I know for a fact he's turned down Wales twice when called up and fully fit. One was because he'd booked a boys holiday, and didn't want to miss that............... However I still think he should be ahead of Gunter based on the past 12 months. O ni ddim yn gwbod hwn, explains a lot, achos ma Matthews shwr o fod yn well 'na Gunter, ond ma C.G wastod yn troi lan a rhoi 6/10 neu 7/10 performance.

At least we have plenty of choice with Williams, Gunter, Roberts, Matthews and Jazz at RB.
Our games over the next few months will give N.W an opportunity to show his quality!

I mean he literally is a Premier League winner by the definition - he has a Premier League winner's medal If you think his contribution doesn't justify a medal that's your prerogative & it's an issue that can be taken up with the league. However, I would still personally contest that view

Does that mean Joe Allen is a winner too as he trained there 3 seasons previously with most of the players?

It might not cut it for you that he was part of the squad, but it cuts it for Klopp "If people don't understand how important the squad is to win the championship then I can't help them to be honest. If you are the second goalie and you have less games you should have a medal, because you train five million times over a year and if you don't (all) train at the highest level then you have no chance to win the championship (as a squad)" - www.google.com/amp/s/www.sportbible.com/football/news-every-liverpool-player-to-get-a-premier-league-winners-medal-20200704.amp.htmlFerguson used to say the same thing - if your back up players aren't pushing the players in front of them in the pecking order to keep their place then the standards will drop. Given consistency is the most important thing you need to win a title, competition for places is very important I myself have been part of teams that have won league titles and the common theme is that our bench players were always pushing the starters so no one felt safe You can play down the importance of this if you want, but I learn all I can from masters of the game like Ferguson & Klopp and if that's their opinion then it's certainly something you need to consider As I said I believe Neco deserves it, but if you wish to disagree with the Premier League medal sitting in his cabinet as we speak you're more than welcome to argue against it - I for one think it's a great achievement for someone at his age

Oh dear, seems he was at fault for Arsenal's goal??
He's getting absolutely mauled on Twitter.
It's always a Welshman isn't it!

He's getting blamed, but dont really see what he's meant to do there. He's been left 2v1 with absolutely no support from Salah, and has to take a gamble either way. If he shows him outside then he slips Tierney in for a sitter.

I thought Tottenham and Arsenal fans were the most pathetic I have seen when they were dissing Bale and Ramsey (the latter after he came back from his foot hanging off his ankle.
Then I look at the Twitter feed on Neco and its unreal. You would have sworn Neco was totally hopeless for the goal judging by the reaction, but no one is expected to score from there and as stated they had a 2 to 1 overload. Listened on the radio and the criticsm was way out of proportion! I have never seen 20 or so twitter lines in a row just criticise a 19 year old!
I wonder why all these players choose Wales over England! The sense of entitlement is astounding!

Wow! No chance that any defender in that situation can be blamed!!!
If he closes Aubameyang down Tierney is in behind and they probably score any way - in a 2v1 you're always damned if you do damned if you don't. This is why social media fans who have never played the game annoy me with their opinions so much - no actual understanding of how the game works

Gomez fucked up not long after and would have resulted in another goal with better finishing. Is he getting slaughtered?

Liverpool in general are a little rusty and let Arsenal in a few times on the break, but Neco has put in some dangerous balls & Liverpool have been on the front foot for the most part so haven't actually had to do that much defending

Well, at least he's trending on Twitter......for all the wrong reasons of course.
I've seen the goal now, and yes he does back off and invite the shot in, but it's hardly a mistake.
But he seems to be getting slagged off at every opportunity.

The emphasis on players giving man of the match performances every game as soon as theyโre out of the womb is now utterly ridiculous.
People lack common sense a a bit of bleeding perspective. Heโs 19, playing in a highly watched game at Wembley- against a world class player! Wilfully ignorant.

Definitely not at fault for the goal and he wasn't terrible at all, but did seem quite nervy throughout. A 5/10 performance for me

Which from a Welsh perspective is still positive tbh. He's certainly played much better for them before He's come off after an hour so that Fabinho can drop into the back 4 to accommodate more attacking midfielders

I think he struggles to bounce back from early setbacks during matches currently e.g. today, playing Gayle onside vs Newcastle. Again, totally understandable given his age and the fact that Liverpool fullbacks push up so high and are constantly exposed.
