Liverpool's other promising young right back, Hoever, is being sold to wolves for £10m, leaving Neco as the clear specialist backup for that position. Slightly disappointing that 'Neco' is trending on Twitter with Lpool fans going on about how they thought Hoever's a much better prospect. The honeymoon period for Neco didn't last very long! They have it in for Welsh players, Woodburn, Wilson, Allen and Neco have been treated much worse then every other player. A few Liverpool fans not rating Welsh players makes them inherently anti-Welsh? That's sensationalising it a bit, don't you think? Woodburn, Wilson & Allen all arrived at Anfield to great fanfare - "Woodburn's the youngest scorer since Owen!", "Welsh Xavi" etc etc, yet they've all largely disappointed and failed to kick on - They certainly didn't have any issues with Rush, so I'm minded to think they just don't have much time for players who aren't outstanding or put a good shift in. Still, it's far more exciting to think our lads are victims of some conspiracy.

Liverpool away at Lincoln on Thursday (24th) so I imagine this will be the first we see of Neco in a Liverpool shirt this season. The next round if they get there will probably be on the 1st so fingers crossed for 2 full 90 minutes for him

Not in the Liverpool squad again. Milner presumably covers again! Curtis Jones however is in the squad again!
So he is gonna waste 12 months on the bench. Please loan him out as he needs to develop now! You can see his performances for Wales show he is ready to develop. He wins the match for his country and then ends up outside the Liverpool squad.
Disappointed by Klopp but not surprised given his track record with Welsh players!

He needs a loan move.
Don't want to see another Wilson situation where the player is in limbo and doesn't know where or whether he gets to play for the rest of the season.

He's 19, playing 2nd fiddle to one of the best RBs in the world and training with world class players like Thiago, Mane, Salah, VVD etc.
He's under the tutelage of one of the worlds best leaders and his coaching team.
Forgive me if I think he's in the right place at this stage of his career.
As an aside, if he eventually moves on permanently it'll be because he's not good enough, not because Klopp and Liverpool fans hate the Welsh.

Yeah please relax on this one lads
He had 11 appearances last season & he's progressed brilliantly. If he gets around 15 this year I'd imagine that he'll still continue to progress. He will get more than that if Trent gets an injury too
Don't forget there's going to be 3 games a week for most of the season - squads HAVE to be rotated. Neco will play - Trent can't physically play every game & Neco is the established (& only) backup option

I feel like some on here get too emotionally invested in our young lads and end up thinking our lads *have* to make it, when the reality is a lot of young lads end up somewhere in the football league. For all the shit we give England fans about hyping youth, some on here are absolutely terrible for it. Neco seems to be doing just fine, people should be worried for Woodburn though as he's just failed to kick on.

Move on loan to a championship club where the manager might get sacked in a few months and he plays second fiddle to a journeyman full-back or learn under a great coach, with great facilities, training with the best and still play 10-20 games a season. He's only 19, Liverpool as a back-up and squad player is where he should be right now with the jam packed season.

I don't trust Liverpool to develop him any further. They're making it quite clear after this transfer window that they will buy rather than promote youngsters, plus there seems to be a growing trend of pushing Welsh players to the back of the queue. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they bought another full back.

Where is the evidence of this growing trend of anti welsh sentiment? There's plenty of 'wonderkids' who are English who end up playing lower down and it's got f--k all to do with one's nationality.

Allen didn't work out, Woodburn has squandered his opportunities after 2 disappointing loan moves and Wilson has some of the world's greatest wingers in front of him. Liverpool certainly had no issues with Joey or Rush. There was that Lloyd Jones lad who played for them and our U19's, lots of people thought he was going to be the dogs bollocks but we decided he was crap after he switched to England and he got what he deserved when Liverpool released him.

I'd like to make it clear that we hype our players up FAR too much. I'm not in the bracket, as I know the majority of our players have limited capabilities and are mostly average for club.
In my opinion some players are better off looking for a move rather than remain stagnant at a team which continues to loan out rather than try and promote.
On Liverpool, they're treatment of Allen, especially from the fans who made him a scapegoat every single match was a disgrace. They've dragged out Wilsons' contract and messed him around when he should've been sold a few seasons ago. Danny Ward was never given a chance - 2 games in 6 years?! And this was when Liverpool had that shower of shite Mignolet at No1. Woodburn.....well god knows whats happened there, I;d argue it's probably personal couple with poor player management.
So yeah, forgive me for not trusting them to develop Neco further. He's clearly talented, and if he continues to be a bit part player this season, I'd be looking for a way out if I was him.

They've promoted Curtis Jones & TAA. If you're good enough, you'll make it there. Neco could probably do with a loan, but he's 19 and second fiddle to one of the best right backs in Europe, I don't think there's a need to panic with him yet.

Interesting to see him lining up to take a direct free kick as the right foot option. Shaqiri took it with his left and scored a cracker.

Quick search on Twittee shows he’s apparently the worst player on the pitch.... He hasn't been great but he hasn't been poor either. He's been caught out slightly a couple of times and his crossing has been uncharacteristically poor, but he's been aggressive and generally good on the ball

Liverpool's defence all over the place this second half. Neco lost his man again and was bailed out by adrian. I certainly don't think this game will help his cause
