Said in the other thread but booked Stansted to Ljubljana in Slovenia for £60 on Thursday 6th. Then I'll be getting the bus from Ljubljana to Zagreb which is about two hours if any of you were looking at alternative ways to get there.

When will Croatia announce the location. Think they have until 90 days before the game? Hedge your bets on Zagreb and leave plenty of time to travel regards your return flight.

Booked to arrive in Zagreb at 2315 on the Friday night. Leaves loads of time to get to wherever the game is. Can’t wait

Planning to make a holiday of it - 9 days in the Croatia sun. Will also enable me to move around depending on where the game will be. Went to Budapest last year on a city break and been on a stag there, such a nice place, but will only go for game day i think.

Been to Zagreb / Osijek / Bratislava two years ago, during the Serbia/Austria trips - so happy to post notes / info, maybe on the weekend.
Last time I was in Budapest was the 90s - so its over to you on that one ;-)

I might fly to Düsseldorf first and stop there for a night. I assume it’s Zagreb but lessons were learned when they switched Denmark.

Booked flights from Bristol to seaside resort of Pula. It’s in middle of Zagreb and Split ( approx 2 hours drive to each) so edging my bets hoping the games not in Osijek. Currently East jet flights are around £80.
Also booked Brussel Airlines from Budapest back into Bristol via Brussels for £82

What did you think of Osijek? Went there last time and wasn’t great. Zagreb was ok but nothing special. Split was better but unlikely we will play there due to Croatian FA politics

Just hotel booked so far. Having two nights in Croatia (booked Zagreb) before heading over to Budapest. I'll hope to take the fan bus.

One problem I can see with the fan buses is what day do they travel? Some fans will want to go on the Sunday some on the Monday etc. Maybe staggered?

I believe wonkysheep are also running buses so with a bit of communication maybe they can stagger their buses? Wonky on one day, Leigh’s on another?

I’m thinking of having a week before on the Croatian coast. Been to Dubrovnik so looking at Split and the islands. Any recommendations for good beaches?

Loads to do from Split, islands tours, Blue caves, even day trips to Mostar. If games is in Zagreb, try and take some time at Plitvice lakes on the way, I found it worthwhile. Enjoy!

Its a far bit closer to Zagreb but still a decent beach resort and a large historical port/town. Easy jet flights from Bristol direct.

Not been to Split. Stayed two days in Osijek and a week in Zagreb. Enjoyed them both. Actually got to a fair standard of Serbo-Croat chit-chat level. Might need to brush up again, though ;-)

I've had all mine approved for the four. My previous employer, who I left in acrimonious circumstances, rejected one in two requests. The problem is that I can't pick when Wales will be playing away!

Work commitments are a big factor for all. I can't take off work for more than a week that's why it's usually a 3day visit for games as well as cost as most weekend away with domestic football Doing Croatia and Hungary is pushing limits as a busy period in work

All I like doing is Wales these days. I've given up with club football now. A relocation to London helped with that decision!
The professional services group I worked for were absolute shits with time off. I only got Georgia because a work colleague cancelled. Ireland home rejected, Denmark away rejected etc. I had a huge bust up with Ms Hitler and stormed out in the end. I wasn't even asked to work my notice.
I was responsible for a couple of apprentices in another job and bent over backwards to give them their annual leave. Not much point earning when you've nothing to spend it on.

Can i just say please refrain from checking flights unless your serious about booking. Search engines use a logarithm the more clicks registering interest and the price goes up. The less interest and they should come down. Im hoping more flights become closer to the date. Georgia cost me a fortune and then all of a sudden more flights were available for loads cheaper.

The less interest and they should come down. Im hoping more flights become closer to the date. Georgia cost me a fortune and then all of a sudden more flights were available for loads cheaper. That is not strictly true. With search engines it is the information stored in the cookies in your browser that mean that increased search activity means that the price that they show goes up. It is the airlines own websites that use, amongst other things, logarithms to calculate the price. Although the main logarithm (with budget airlines) is something akin to the more seats that are sold, the more the seats go up in price. The reason why more flights become available closer to the time is mostly because the original flights have sold out with a significant number of those seats being sold at a healthy margin, so the airlines then decide to put on another flight. I expect that many more flights to Zagreb and maybe even Baku will become available closer to the time.

Saw that Croatia's game against Azerbaijan will be played in Zagreb. Considering this is likely to be the lowest attended game in the group, its pretty much guaranteed our game will be played there.
Although anything is possible with the Croatian FA.
