Hello everyone, I and 4 other friends are coming to cardiff 12.10 and we stay until 15.10, you have a cheap apartment for a recommendation, thank you and I want you a nice time in Croatia! Lots of Bed and Breakfast on Cathedral Road which is on the right side of the City for the football Otherwise try AirBnB as there are plenty of apartments available on there I hope you enjoy your visit to Wales. Feel free to ask if you have any queries.

Went to Ljubljana on the Thursday and had a quick stopover in Zagreb before getting one of Leigh’s coaches this morning. Wish we had a bit more time in Zagreb.
Thankfully can drink on these buses unlike in Denmark. Can’t wait to get to Osijek and watch us smash the Croats 1-0 😉

On radio Wales they said checking every Welsh fans ID. Big queues Yeah I’ve heard there were chaotic scenes as loads of Wales fans were turned away/not let in at the gate because the names on their tickets didn’t match their ID. That’s why there were empty seats in the stadium. Seems like harvesting at the top is worse than we thought. I’m expecting similar to happen in Hungary.

On radio Wales they said checking every Welsh fans ID. Big queues Yes, Rob Phillips and his sidekicks said there was 1 turnstile open and that they were checking ID, they also said fans weren’t allowed to take water into the ground and I am pretty sure he said they run out of water inside the ground. That can’t have been much fun, sitting there for over 2hours in the scorching sun no shade and no drinks. Plus a poor performance!

At least 100 turned away apparently, surprised at the level of harvesting going on.

Feel really sorry for the fans who have spent all that money to follow Wales and been turned away. I wonder if the Croatia FA will pass details of the tickets which were presented without the right ID back to the FAW and what if anything they do about it.

I arrived at 2pm and was only let in at 2.40pm. Water not allowed in and there was never water on sale even before ko, only £3 glass of WARM coke :+( The excuses people were giving for only having a photocopy of their passports were lame. "I'm on the juice all day, so don't want to lose it". Come on! I'd say 65% of those turned away were photocopy issues. There were about 20 lads that claimed that the ticket belonged to their spouse or brother, and they tried to Show a photocopy of that person's passport. Really didn't feel like harvesting was an issue. Not saying that perhaps 20 or 30 did that. But it was just people trying to be too clever and totally ignore very specific instructions by FAW and FSF

Late reply but only got home from Budapest late on Friday and only just got round to reading posts. We left the Dali Bar when the coaches from Zagreb arrived, to get into the ground early to get flag up, so no queues. Correct we had to empty our water bottles on the way in, but they were selling water at the bar out of 2 litre bottles into pint glasses, for not much less than the lager I think (seem to remember being pleasantly surprised that the beer wasn't a lot more than in town) but don't quote me as I'd had a couple! We emptied our plastic glasses (water) into our water bottles in full view of a group of police, who were sheltering from the heat under our stand by the bar, which kept serving until well after half time if I remember correctly. Although they did run out of still water, they still had sparkling! We had to show our flag to the stewards in front of an FAW steward (turned out he only lived a couple of miles from us) to ensure it was PC I suppose. All in all a good experience!! Although Zagreb would have been a better trip I'm sure.

Correct - third visit to Osijek, first two were quick stops and not impressed with the place, This time we spent three day there and was a real surprise, to me one of the nicest places we've visited (63rd away trip), lots of bars in the center of town and down on the water front. Is wales Away about going to grubby capitol cities or going to unusual places that can surprise you./

Hardly anything was open, but it was winter and midweek. Sounds as if it has developed a bit since last time?

I spent two nights there and wasn't expecting much after hearing off people who had been to the previous games- those people were amazed at the change. Perhaps it had something to do with it being the weekend, and there being a buzz about the place. (Also that festival going on) The weather must've made a difference-especially on that riverfront. The locals were great, really friendly. The main square area and the old town were very lively, the riverfront was lovely and beer was cheap. What's not to like? (apart from a Wales loss!) I even think the stadium added to the experience.

Got to agree with the recent posts - Osijek was fantastic, the people were as welcoming as you could possibly be and had a great night after the match.

I had all sorted for Zagreb and choose to not change especially waiting on my hope of a ticket. I regret not changing now as bus journeys took its toll in heat and time. What I saw of osijek in limited spare time I found good. I had to collect ticket from Lucy and went alternative drinking holes not to pre party and all locals where brilliant even given me a lift to cash point
