Just got confirmation from Matthew at the ticket office that: "We’ve had confirmation from Croatia and Hungary that a driving licence will be accepted as a form of ID" Any idea if a photocopy will do. Don't really want to take my passport to the match

Just got confirmation from Matthew at the ticket office that: "We’ve had confirmation from Croatia and Hungary that a driving licence will be accepted as a form of ID" For Croatia, were they intending to print passport numbers on the tickets, or was it names? I can't understand why they would have asked for passport numbers if they didn't intend to print them. I can only pass on what I have been told by Matthew. Croatian law requires the passport number to be printed on the tickets. Please contact the Ticket Office by Monday email/phone with your passport details.
However, it appears that both the Croatian and the Hungarians will allow us entry with either passport or driver's license as ID.

Highly likely that if you're checked at the gate.. all they'll be looking at is the name and DOB.

Going to be interesting if fans who have tickets by whatever means try and get into the stadium.

It may be true for Hungary, but for Croatia it still sounds like scaremongering bollocks to me. Have any English or Scottish teams played in Croatia in the last couple of years? I have spent all of 3 mins researching dinamo Zagreb fixtures but not found anything so far

Scotlands last time was in our group in 2013 for the 2014 WC. Personally, I just can't see them trying to check the ID's of 1000+ Welsh fans, most of which will have been on the ale. They'll just say put the passport numbers on and they'll just act like they checked them.

Didn't they kick off really badly in Glasgow. Could be a bit dodgy wandering around the town.

New to this just signed up! Travel to all away games, are there any organised buses from Zagreb on match day?

We had no trouble from the locals in 2012. In fact, it was the total opposite with a group of the Osijek ultras inviting us to their underground bar/HQ after the match where we drank for free and had a great time until the sun rose. Looking back, we might have been naive and things could have turned out differently but you just have to trust your instincts and common sense.

Three weeks to go til the game, and still no tickets on the HNS site. Perhaps there is no interest after losing to Hungary ;-)

Another newbie here. Fascinating forum. Have it on good authority from one of the travelling FAW stewards that all visiting fans in Osijek will have name, dob and photo ID checked at the gate. Risk at your peril.

I went to Hadjuk Split with Everton for a Europa qualifier in August 2017. There were no ID checks on the gate then. But there were police randomly breathalysing fans and arresting them if they’d had too much, without any prior warning. And the experience after the match was a nightmare. Kept us waiting outside for about 2 hours, and then we had 2 buses to take us back to town, meaning the vast majority had to walk, getting ambushed by their Ultras all the way. That, and the state of the ground at Osijek, makes missing out on a ticket seem not so bad. Lovely place though, as long as no one knows you’re an away supporter.

Hi everyone,
Me and a few of the boys have booked flight and accommodations to Zagreb, we don’t have any match tickets but were wondering will many fans be staying in Zagreb for the match and travelling to Budapest after? If so please let me know. Dan

Anyone know if there are likely to be any additional tickets from the FAW? I'm not expecting anything, but am aware that for the last 2 away sell outs that we've had (Denmark and Hungary), about 100 extra tickets have come available on both occasions.

Probably unlikely but might get lucky with a handful of VIP tickets.

Are many on here staying in Osijek on the Friday or Saturday night? Our Group will be. Got space for 4 people on a mini-bus from Osijek to Zagreb on the Friday evening if anyone's interested. Takes 2.5 hours, as suppose to 4 hours on the bus.

Staying Fri night to Mon morning. Got an apartment we're not going to use if anyone is stuck for digs. Only 1 dbl bed but plenty of floor space. Paid up front as was so cheap. £85 for 3 nights. Found another a few weeks back in a better location so we're using that instead. If anyone wants it for 1, 2 or 3 nights let me know. Pity to let it stay empty.

Glad to hear there are a few staying local - I was a bit worried most would be going back to Zagreb or heading straight up to Budapest
