Looking at flights, I notice Heathrow to Osijek via Cologne is on sale at £155 with Skyscanner and also The German company. Leaving Heathrow at 9am on the Thursday, 6th. Leaving Osijek Sunday 9th at 9, back to Heathrow at 2pm. 3 nights. Bloody cheap.

HOT SPRINGS JUST OUTSIDE OSIJEK
This was posted by @flumy on the ThornTree
Bizovačke toplice are situated roughly 25 km from Osijek and less than 2 km from the village called Bizovac
The facility is brand new / built in 2016 on an ancient thermal site
A local bus company called Panturist ( prodaja.panturist.hr/ runs regular direct bus connections between Osijek and Bizovačke toplice, unfortunately not on weekends. Anyway, you can also use local buses that run to Bizovac instead to Bizovačke toplice and then walk there. Be informed that the water in Bizovačke toplice is salty.
Week-day departures at 0745 / 0900 / 1045 / 1115 / 1230 - trip takes 30 minutes / costs 20 kn / £2.30
ALL-DAY PACKAGE that includes access to all thermal pools , 1-hour at the sauna, lunch and special tea is 99kn / £11. Regular adult entrance and use of facilities is only 40kn (mid-week) - £5. The cheapest equivalent in Budapest will cost you 4 times that price...
There are swimming pools as usual - including a huge wave pool - an Aquapark and a health centre. Pebble sunbathing area, soccer fields, basketball and tennis courts, sandy volleyball court, handball court and a modern playground. Fitness centre, slide etc. All sports facilities are included in the entrance fee.
As far as Zagreb is concerned it is indeed encircled by various hot springs, but unfortunately, it is required at least an hour or even more of bus ride to reach them. The reason for such a situation is in the fact that the largest majority of hot springs visitors use their own cars to reach them. There used to be a time of specifically designated trains that connected Zagreb with hot springs for city population, but they are discontinued with the arrival of car era.
... Just a reminder of the delights of Osijek ;-)

Think I might just rely on the local bars to provide the anaesthetic required to enjoy Osijek.
The "special tea" does sound interesting mind.

I just phoned the FAW ticket office. I was told they are unsure when the tickets would go on sale, unlikely to be today, keep checking the website for updates.

By the time they announce details it'll be near on 3 weeks before a game in the arse end of Croatia. Nothing short of a joke from both FA's.

Their website states ticket sales go on sale 20 - 30 days before a game , maybe that's why ? Their rules I guess .

Tickets for stage 2 and 3 only on sale for 3 hours on Thursday! Know they need a quick turnaround but crazy! Well spotted. Sadly, I can't really see it going beyond the first hour of stage two, if the Budapest sales are anything to go by...
Stage Two folk, please keep Thursday 1100-1115 free ;-)

Has anything been said about ID checks for these tickets similar to Hungary ones? Will need to have passport numbers when booking the tickets. Doesn't say if there will be any ID checks at the stadium. The FAW will ask for a sample of fans to produce evidence of travel. Anyone that can't show this won't be able to buy a ticket for the Slovakia game.

Read somewhere on here that Croatia have the same law as Hungary Re ID checks at the stadium.
